Combining images

I create an application that has a compass and a rotation arrow.  I want to combine two images into one.  i.e. the compass image be a cirlce with degree marks, and arrow transparent rolling superimposed above it, so they both images can be changed independently.

However, BitmapField allows a bitmap into it.  How do I set this up so the two images may display an image superimposed on top of the other?

I hope I've done this is clear.

You can use a Graphics object to write a bitmap on another and then also use in your BitmapField.

Take a look at the JavaDocs for the net.rim.device.api.ui.Graphics and see the drawBitmap methods.

  • Photoshop - combine images channel purple and green in a fused image?

    Hello

    My molecular biology laboratory trying to image fusion from a Confocal Microscope batch.  The microscope uses lasers to view different parts of a sample in a number of channels.

    For each sample, there are two corresponding channels at each level.  We try all these corresponding images merge into one combined image.  The image fusion process is simple; However, we must do this 150 - 250 times for each sample and we have several samples.

    I found an old post on the forum (Photoshop - combine images red and green layer in a fused image? ) which causes the writing a script for exactly this.  However, the script does not work for me.  I'm new to using scripts in photoshop and would appreciate greatly all possible assistance.

    Here is the code I tried to run.

    // make a reference to the savedFolder
    var savedFolder = new Folder('~/desktop/Merged Image');
    // create the folder if it doesn't exists
    if(!savedFolder.exists) savedFolder.create();
    // get the source folder from the user and store in variable
    var sourceFolder = Folder.selectDialog();
    // make sure user selected a folder
    if(sourceFolder != null){
        // get an array of red images and store in variable
        var sourceFiles = sourceFolder.getFiles(/_ch00\.tif$/i);
        // make a loop to process all found sets.
        for(var i = 0; i < sourceFiles.length;i++){
            var redName = sourceFiles[i].name;
            var greenName = redName.replace('_ch00','_ch01');
            var redImage = open(sourceFiles[i]);// open the red file and store reference to document
            var greenImage = open(new File(sourceFolder+'/'+greenName));// open the green file and store reference that document
            // now apply redImge using lighten mode
            applyChannel( charIDToTypeID( "RGB " ) , redImage.name );
            // save the merged document
            SaveAsTIFF(savedFolder+'/'+redName.replace(/_ch00\.tif$/i,'_merged.tif'),true);
            // close the open documents for next loop
            redImage.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);
            greenImage.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);
            }
    }
    function applyChannel( channelID, documentName ){
        // charIDToTypeID( "RGB " )
        // charIDToTypeID( "Rd  " )
        // charIDToTypeID( "Grn " )

        ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID( "Chnl" ), charIDToTypeID( "Chnl" ), channelID);
        ref.putProperty( charIDToTypeID( "Lyr " ), charIDToTypeID( "Bckg" ) );
        ref.putName( charIDToTypeID( "Dcmn" ), documentName );
        channelsDesc.putReference( charIDToTypeID( "T   " ), ref );
        channelsDesc.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID( "Clcl" ), charIDToTypeID( "Clcn" ), charIDToTypeID( "Lghn" ) );
        channelsDesc.putBoolean( charIDToTypeID( "PrsT" ), true );
        desc.putObject( charIDToTypeID( "With" ), charIDToTypeID( "Clcl" ), channelsDesc );
        executeAction( charIDToTypeID( "AppI" ), desc, DialogModes.NO );
    };
    function SaveAsTIFF( inFileName, inLZW ) {
        var tiffSaveOptions = new TiffSaveOptions();
        if ( inLZW ) {
            tiffSaveOptions.imageCompression = TIFFEncoding.TIFFLZW;
        } else {
            tiffSaveOptions.imageCompression = TIFFEncoding.NONE;
        }
        app.activeDocument.saveAs( File( inFileName ), tiffSaveOptions );
    };

    Basically, everything I changed code original was the '_r' to '_ch00' and '_g' to '_ch01 '.  Thinking that the only difference between the original message and mine was the file name.  I executed the script in Adobe ExtendScript ToolKit.  The code is not able to go beyond the line 15 without the error "opening is not a function".

    I tried to save the script and try it out in photoshop in any case and I get the error code "error 8800: general Photoshop error occurred." Maybe this feature is not available in this version of photoshop.  -The 'Apply Image' command is not currently available. Line 41-> executeAction (CharIDToTypeID ('Appl'), desc, DialogModes.NO); »

    I honestly don't know enough about coding to know even where to begin to fix this problem.  Any direction would be much appreciated!

    / Steven

    I use photoshop CS5.  I think I found the problem, however.  The files needed to be converted to RGB index for the script is running.  Seems to work fine now.  Thanks for the reply!

  • Combining images into two separate postscript files into a single file with a single line

    I have two postscript files, each representing a pure black and white, images identically companies (generated by Eagle PCB, is not that it's all that relevant), as it is attached.   I would like to combine the two files into a single file where are the two images side fits on one line so I can print them together.   What is the easiest to do this route?

    Example files:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/rrcw4t4bk0x5x6u/file1.PS?DL=0

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/21de4f9c35qa3w3/File2.PS?DL=0

    In fact, I could solve the problem with a little reverse engineering of the Postscript and a bash script.

    The files two postscript define a bunch of common functions and some points of reference and call these functions to draw geometries.  I just extend the width of a drawing by 2 X, remove the "grestore" from the bottom, translate the origin back to the middle and shoot another image, followed by a "grestore.

    Resulting file:

    So I thought if anyone knows how to do this, it would be you guys!

    I have 2000 images.

    They are 1 pixel wide and 1000 pixels high.

    What I want to do is to combine all these into a new

    2000 x 1000 pixel image. Everything I've tried so far

    did my computer crashes or I ran out of space scratchdisk.

    Any ideas? You save me.

    Thank you.

    If your computer breaks down, which I'm sure it would be, not so much because the size of files, but the number of layers. Try to do it in smaller batches. Have you tried to load saying 500 of these layers in a doc of PS to help load files into the script of layers. Then expand your document to the exact size of all the combined pixel widths. Move the last if the layers were numbered correctly, the first and the last layer should be layers of the end. move the layer whatever that is supposed to go on the right side of this side. Then select all layers and with the move selected tool, distribution centres. I think this might do the trick for you.

  • Combine Images

    Is it possible in fireworks CS3 to combine two images into one with a simple transparent fade. In other words, have the two images to the right and to the left. Since the middle of the picture, melt it in the other image as a gradient? If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

    You could pen each image by clicking on it, a mark inside the bitmap drawing then go to select > feather. Another way that I prefer is to select the image and go to the commands > Creative > Fade Image.

    Anyway, once you have the two images faded / feathered in different directions just lay them on top of the other and presto!

  • Combine two jpg images

    I try to combine two JPGs as two PDF files into one.

    I have a PDF file with more pages and just add a page at the end. It seems to work. And when I save me it also includes the addition of the page.

    However, I'm now trying to merge two files jpg in the same style. This doesn't seem to work. Why?

    Thank you

    With the help of Pages ' 09 v4.3, you can combine two images, select both, group them, copy to the Clipboard and select new in the Clipboard in preview. They are now in PDF in preview, where you can save, export to other formats or copy/paste in Pages in PDF format.

    I reference the older Pages, because in the Pages v5.6.2, your travel Pages from the Clipboard to the product overview a file of Graphics PNG 72 dpi - not PDF and not the two combined images JPG.

    If you don't have a Pages ' 09 v4.3, you should combine your images in a graphics program dedicated (for example GIMP (free), Photoshop, designer of affinity, etc.).

    You cannot combine images in preview, as you can the PDF. The combination of the image seems to work until you save and view this content, to see that it did not work after all.

  • The combination of images in PSE12

    I have recently switched from PSE6 to PSE12.  Everything was great, except that I have a question.  I tried to look for help, but I'm not really sure of what search words to use.

    I do a lot of digital scrapbooking and thus combine images quite often.  In PSE6, all images have been opened in both the work area and I could catch, resize them, move them and drag them from one window to the other.

    In PSE12, I can't understand how to do this.  If I go to Windows == > Images == > tile, it will be their tiling but I don't have the freedom to move.  It seems there are two other options to 'Float in the window' but which is grayed out and I can't figure out how to use this option.

    Thank you very much.

  • Combine CSS and Images files

    Hey all,.

    My pages with DW CS5 get to be large enough (bytes).  Is there a way to put all my css stylesheet information in a file?  I have several things CSS (menus, information on the page, google tricks and widgets and sprys) on pages causing things to download on every page (even if the page does not actually use some of the elements).

    In the same vein, is it possible to combine images in order to reduce the bandwidth, that the user's browser needs to load them?  My images are not large (usually 3 to 7 bytes only), but there are enough, only it them to slow down things.

    To see what I'm talking about please see www.aloe-vera.org

    Thank you, David

    Certainly, you can merge your CSS into your external style sheet, related to improve the management of your CSS.

    However, your script files contribute to the lion share of the download file size.
