Come on Apple! : why Itunes wants to erase my iphone to manually manage music for me

Hello

I wonder if there is a way to activate the option to manually manage music without the synchronization and erasing all the info on my iphone 6. It is terrible because I can't understand how to do this and I do not use my computer to store all the music on my iphone, and I don't know how to backup all my pictures and etc. in my computer. I have activated this option before on another device and was angry because when Sync I lost all my photos including images of my great-aunt who could now be passed away while she was struggling with cancer was given a little time to live. I am currently using a third-party program called AnyTrans to add titles to my iphone but I want to be able to do simply in itunes instead. That said, does anyone know how to enable this option for those of us who don't do the thing whole sync? As is - this does anyone have ideals about why itunes forces you to synchronize when you change the settings?

Appreciate any help and advice given here. Thank you!

Hello

For the sake of Apple, you can only toggle a device of automatic synchronization to manual management without removing the media on this issue when it is connected to the library, with which it was previously synchronized. See recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device library for general steps to recover all media on a device in the local library, after what you can afford wipe and reload it. If you choose to manage manually in the future you should keep all of your media in a local library that you have backed up so that you can restore your device or replacement as and when the need arises.

  • sync iTunes wants to erase my iphone

I know this is asked very often - but looking at responses I'm not sure of the exact situation that I am.

    The situation:

A library itune on windows 10, itune version 12.4.1.6 - all iphones are 6 or 6plus on the latest ios created with a camera that was on Apple ID "A".

1 iPhone (6) with the apple ID has been used to create and synchronize with this itune library. It still works.

IPhone 2 (a 6 +) started with the apple A ID and I remember well sync was working (but I'm not sure)

Then 2 Iphone replaced by apple ID B appelid

There's a family shares Apple ID B ID apple has.

    < some time pass >

now when you try to sync, itunes considers the iphone 2 was not synchronized to the library on the computer and ask to erase everything. It's my wifes iphone, so I don't want to compromise my weding on itune behavior

    My questions:

1 / How can I be sure of the origin of "synchronize with the new library" iphone2 plugged. And this might be impossible - but in case an investigation is possible I am ready to dig it.

2 / then what would be the best approach to get "iphone2/appleid 2" sync with this library providing I lack nothing that could have been purchased on ' iphone 2' or the recovery of as magically the lost link (Finally I can always dream, but who knows before you ask...) "."

Thank you very much for any pointer - and maybe this is very well known. In this case sorry for pushing an open door.

    Best regards

    Sébastien.

  • iTunes wants to update an iPhone update...

Any ideas on why iTunes wants to update my iPhone 9.2.1 when turned 9.2.1 already? Not a huge problem just annoying... Are tired of stuff like re start etc, but still no luck.

  • iTunes "manually manage music and videos" option cannot be deselected.

I changed my options on iTunes and now I can not uncheck "manually manage music and videos". I tried to uncheck and then clicked 'Apply' and after that, there is still not controlled. The first image shows the option checked. Picture 2 shows that "manually manage music and videos" was unchecked and I clicked apply. After I clicked on apply "manually manage music and videos" remains active. I want to know how do I uncheck "manually manage music and videos" and keep it unchecked. Any suggestions?

What should I options you checked in the SETTINGS > tab MUSIC?

    Sync music checked?

    Entire library of music?

Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres?

Is probably a dependency between these parameters.

    Hello

You should find that restart both devices solves this problem.

The two put together, and then restart your iPhone first:

  • Why can't I manually manage music with iCloud and Apple active?

In a previous discussion, the following point kept deployed: "you must disable the iCloud library in settings on the iPhone, and then manage it manually the music and videos option will be available again."

True, but... WHY? # * % $! ' s sake, I should be able to choose what songs go on my device, regardless of source of the source file. As it is, when I keep iCloud and Apple music enabled on my iPad, I find myself with random files on it which I can't delete until I stopped the two aforementioned services. More than once, my iPad has mysteriously filled to capacity with I not not choose or play music.

It is a major problem, and it needs to be fixed. Apple, please allow users to control their own devices and files the way they prefer. If I want a song on my device, I'll put it here, my computer, from iCloud, Apple music or from iTunes. I just want to play, I'll listen without downloading it. Period. Any necessary additional complications.

  • iTunes wants to update my iPhone already up-to-date

(What I... MacBook 2015, OSX 10.11.3 with all latest updates. iPhone 6s more w/iOS 9.2.1)

I updated my iPhone to 9.2.1 shortly after she was released.

Last Sunday, I connected my iPhone to my MacBook and iTunes told me iOS 9.2.1 is available and asks me if I want to download/install.

I connected with my iPhone to my MacBook for several times after that I upgraded and it's not happened so far.

Has anyone seen this; have a cure; or an idea how to solve this problem?

    TIA!

    B

There was an update to iOS 9.2.1 (mid-February) for devices with Touch ID to deal with error 53 (If you see error 53 and your iPhone or iPad is stuck on the screen 'Connect to iTunes' - Apple Support) – Apple made the new version as 9.2.1 but they gave him a new build number (the number that shows up after the version number in settings > general > topic > Version on) the phone).

Update (after a backup and copy purchases through your Mac iTunes library) to the new version via iTunes on your computer will get your phone up to date (as far as I know will not show the new version in settings > general > software update, you can't update directly on the phone).

  • Why my side song erased and playlists were emptied on iTunes?

I'm looking for a possible explanation as to why this particular thing happened if it does not happen in the future. I tried to cover all the details that I thought was appropriate where a person can say exactly what happened.

First of all, I have a modest library of 3500 songs on my iTunes I keep pretty organized with playlists and rating stars, and I'm trying to store all my data locally (ie. not on the cloud). I synchronize my entire library to my iPhone, so basically I'm trying to keep my iTunes and iPhone music library identical library and have all my music physically downloaded to my phone (music so only available offline). I don't use iCloud music library and hold.

I use Apple music on my phone, however, to discover new music. I had it on automatic renewal for a couple of months but let my membership lapse one maybe a more than a week ago - ergo, I didn't not Apple music for several days.

I decided to take out a few days ago and everything was good. I had synced my phone since my subscription expired because I had not added to any music, until yesterday when I bought some singles on iTunes I want to synchronize my phone. However, they would not sync with my phone after 2 or 3 attempts, then I looked around my phone settings and noticed that iCloud music library was running. I'm sure that when I re-subscribed to Apple's music, it turns out iCloud music library somehow.

Then I disabled iCloud music library, and then I tried to sync again. Only this time, a majority of my music bought were not sync to my phone. Any other synchronized through music. The only way to access my music bought on my phone was to "show all music" and I guess that flows to my phone. Some of them would stream and I had the opportunity to 'download to the phone' but most of them wouldn't even either, they would simply appear in my library of phone but unable to play. Still the same after sync 2 times more.

I deleted all the music on my phone through my phone settings and then synchronized with the sync option is not all music on iTunes and for some reason that still synchronize a purchased song. I deleted manually, this song changed to 'synchronize all music' on iTunes re - transfer my entire library to my phone, but it still refuses to transfer nearly all of my purchased music. And on top of that, I noticed all but 40 of 3500 ~ songs had their side to star cleared on iTunes, the end of the synchronization.

One last shot to try to get my music on my phone, I deleted all the music again once, backed up my phone, it completely, restore the backup and finally sync all reset.

Finally, I clicked on one of my playlists and noticed it was empty. I checked the rest, and all my manual playlists were empty. Only filled have been my smart playlists, relying on the date added and play counts.

Basically, the entire structure of my entire library is ruined. I have no idea why or how it happened but I am sure iCloud music library was the beginning of it. I tried to restore temporary files without success, nor that any itunes library previous saved files help. I have a full September 2015 iTunes backup that has all until the preserved month, but I tore a lot of albums for Christmas and I don't want to lose the date added / play metadata count. I've temporarily restored the library September 2015 and screenshotted as much as I could, so I just have to manually recreate playlists and enter again in the ratings.

Take a look at this thread for some thoughts: lose the song playing in iTunes 11

It would be possible to edit the script I mentioned it to recover a portion of your lost data.

  • Why should I erase my iphone if I don't remember my password

so my sister iPhone is craked up to the point where nothing appears on the screen, we strive to save on iTunes, so tried to contact IDs but it would not go well, but my main thing is why do we not have to erase everything on your phone by getting no not his access code. My sister iPhone is disabled and we have good pictures on his iphone and apple say erase the iPhone, it's frustrating.

Generally, we are unable to answer 'why' questions on these forums.  The terms of use forbid us to speculate on why Apple does not does not specific measures.

But I can tell you that I strongly agree with this particular concept.  My data is password protected.  If someone does not know this password, I would not like their access to my data.

About these photos, if they are important, you need to have saved them before a disaster strikes.  After that disaster, it is too late to perform a backup.  Similarly, you can wait until after a serious car accident to decide that it's time to buy auto insurance and a covered accident.

I say all this hoping that it is a lesson for the next time.

  • Apple has erased my iPhone!

I have an iPhone 4 (iOS 7.x) and recently I bought an iPhone SE.

Shortly after to transfer my data on the new iPhone, Apple locked my Apple ID and forced me to change (what on Earth for?) I've been hacked? It would be good to Apple actually give a reason!).

I turned on my old iPhone (without SIM card) to play music, and about a minute later, it was remotely WIPED and returned to factory default. I discovered since that this is probably a feature that is automatically enabled in find my Iphone.

This is totally unacceptable. I never asked this phone deleted. Now I have to start over again! What I now worry that my other migt deleted if devices I change my Apple ID even once?

Apple does not erase your iPhone.

Not sure why you think this.  Most of what you say does not sound at all correct.

    Thanks for your help.

I can look to iCloud by car and see its contents.

However I can't iCloud pictures like this to see the content, etc.

This is the reason why I wanted to disconnect from iCloud. I had hoped to reconnect and see if I could get then in my photo iCloud content!

Maybe I have the wrong approach?

can you tell me if the Photos on my iPad and iCloud photos are one and the same?

    any help appreciated...

    They should be the same.

  • Apple ID iTunes account

I bought a MacBook Pro last month and Setup everything under a new Apple ID I created.  I didn't on my existing iTunes account, which I've had for years using iTunes on a Windows PC and the synchronization of an iPod.  My iTunes account is a different e-mail address identifier Apple for my MacBook.  I know that you cannot change the e-mail account on iTunes.  When I tried to connect to Apple (https://appleid.apple.com/?localang=en_US) with my iTunes email address and the password, he acknowledges.

An identifier Apple is different than an iTunes account?

What should I do to activate iTunes running with all my music purchased on the MacBook?

An identifier Apple and iTunes account are actually the same thing, just different ways to refer to an account - you should be able to log on to the account on http://appleid.apple.comand your Mac in iTunes, iBooks and Mac App Store

What should I do to activate iTunes running with all my music purchased on the MacBook?

All the content that you have purchased on your old account will always be linked to this account, the account that you need to allow your Mac to play/sync iTunes content - account > permissions > dropdown menu option allow this computer to the latest version of iTunes, Store > authorize this computer on older iTunes.

I know that you cannot change the e-mail account on iTunes.

You can, by logging into the account on http://appleid.apple.com (you cannot change the e-mail address that is already used as an id on an account): change your Apple - Apple Support ID

After changing (you would prefer disconnect everywhere you use the account before the update and return with the updated version later): what to do when you have changed your Apple ID email address or password - Apple support
