iTunes wants to update my iPhone already up-to-date

(What I... MacBook 2015, OSX 10.11.3 with all latest updates. iPhone 6s more w/iOS 9.2.1)

I updated my iPhone to 9.2.1 shortly after she was released.

Last Sunday, I connected my iPhone to my MacBook and iTunes told me iOS 9.2.1 is available and asks me if I want to download/install.

I connected with my iPhone to my MacBook for several times after that I upgraded and it's not happened so far.

Has anyone seen this; have a cure; or an idea how to solve this problem?

TIA!

B

There was an update to iOS 9.2.1 (mid-February) for devices with Touch ID to deal with error 53 (If you see error 53 and your iPhone or iPad is stuck on the screen 'Connect to iTunes' - Apple Support) – Apple made the new version as 9.2.1 but they gave him a new build number (the number that shows up after the version number in settings > general > topic > Version on) the phone).

Update (after a backup and copy purchases through your Mac iTunes library) to the new version via iTunes on your computer will get your phone up to date (as far as I know will not show the new version in settings > general > software update, you can't update directly on the phone).

  • iTunes wants to update iPad iOS 9.2.1; iPad already there?

I normally update iOS level of my iPad via iTunes on my MBP (El Capitan 10.11.3); However, I got my iPad to do the update of iOS 9.2 to 9.2.1 via Wi - Fi in settings-> general-> software update.  I have not problems than that, and my iPad shows version 9.2.1 (13D 15) in settings-> general-> about

After that I Sync my iPad in iTunes on my MBP and iTunes now informs me that a later version of the iOS is available and asks me if I want to upgrade to it.  After getting this message repeatedly, I said no not to invite me to this topic more.  iTunes displays the following information for my iPad:

    iOS 9.2.1

A newer version of the iPad software is available (version 9.2.1)...

It shows he's in 9.2.1 and at the same time tells me that 9.2.1 is a newer version than 9.2.1.

    This could be the cause?

Is there a way to solve it?

  • Come on Apple! : why Itunes wants to erase my iphone to manually manage music for me

    Hello

I wonder if there is a way to activate the option to manually manage music without the synchronization and erasing all the info on my iphone 6. It is terrible because I can't understand how to do this and I do not use my computer to store all the music on my iphone, and I don't know how to backup all my pictures and etc. in my computer. I have activated this option before on another device and was angry because when Sync I lost all my photos including images of my great-aunt who could now be passed away while she was struggling with cancer was given a little time to live. I am currently using a third-party program called AnyTrans to add titles to my iphone but I want to be able to do simply in itunes instead. That said, does anyone know how to enable this option for those of us who don't do the thing whole sync? As is - this does anyone have ideals about why itunes forces you to synchronize when you change the settings?

Appreciate any help and advice given here. Thank you!

    Hello

For the sake of Apple, you can only toggle a device of automatic synchronization to manual management without removing the media on this issue when it is connected to the library, with which it was previously synchronized. See recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device library for general steps to recover all media on a device in the local library, after what you can afford wipe and reload it. If you choose to manage manually in the future you should keep all of your media in a local library that you have backed up so that you can restore your device or replacement as and when the need arises.

  • sync iTunes wants to erase my iphone

I know this is asked very often - but looking at responses I'm not sure of the exact situation that I am.

    The situation:

A library itune on windows 10, itune version 12.4.1.6 - all iphones are 6 or 6plus on the latest ios created with a camera that was on Apple ID "A".

1 iPhone (6) with the apple ID has been used to create and synchronize with this itune library. It still works.

IPhone 2 (a 6 +) started with the apple A ID and I remember well sync was working (but I'm not sure)

Then 2 Iphone replaced by apple ID B appelid

There's a family shares Apple ID B ID apple has.

    < some time pass >

now when you try to sync, itunes considers the iphone 2 was not synchronized to the library on the computer and ask to erase everything. It's my wifes iphone, so I don't want to compromise my weding on itune behavior

    My questions:

1 / How can I be sure of the origin of "synchronize with the new library" iphone2 plugged. And this might be impossible - but in case an investigation is possible I am ready to dig it.

2 / then what would be the best approach to get "iphone2/appleid 2" sync with this library providing I lack nothing that could have been purchased on ' iphone 2' or the recovery of as magically the lost link (Finally I can always dream, but who knows before you ask...) "."

Thank you very much for any pointer - and maybe this is very well known. In this case sorry for pushing an open door.

    Best regards

    Sébastien.

I tried it on iTunes and it says that my iPhone software is up to date, when I press 'Control upgrade' he says "this version of the iPhone (7.1.2) software is the current version." I want to update if I can download most of my apps useful because they require version 8.0 or later. I try to update via the parameters to update software on the phone and he said "iOS 7.1.2 your software is up-to-date."

Apple has released a patched 9.2.1 iOS they have two different numbers. This update is possible only via iTunes and the computer. It is to remedy the situation of error 53. Go ahead and update the latest version. It is completely safe to use.

    Force restart your iPhone.

Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

And then tap settings > general > software update

If this does not help, make sure that your Mac running the latest version of iTunes.

You can do this by clicking on your top  Apple left of your screen.

In the drop-down list, click: App Store

After the opening of the App Store, select updates in the upper part of the menu of the window of the App Store.

  • iPhone wants to update to 9.3, iTunes says phone is up-to-date 9.2.1

My iphone wants to update to 9.3 but is unable, guard return error "you are not connected to internet" message. I am connected of course. Tried through iTunes that says phone is up-to-date 9.2.1. Have updated most recent iTunes, restarted phone and restore network settings. I don't understand. I have an iphone 5s with 4.2 GB of free space. Any suggestions?

Try to restart the computer and connect your device once more.

Also, check your network connection and restart your router.

I don't know, but maybe your problem is somehow related with the last bug in iOS 9.3.

  • ITunes is to be ridiculous. I updated my iPhone 6 s to the latest version of the software, 9.2.1 a week ago. Not perfect, no problem whatsoever. However, whenever I plug my phone into my Mac, Itunes wants to upgrade the software again. How can I stop this

A week ago. I updated my iPhone to IOS 9.2.1 6s. The update was done with success directly on my phone via wifi.

I had no problem with the software of the phone since.

However, every time I plug it into my Mac Mini and open Itunes, now a pop up appears asking me to upgrade to the same version of software.

I have no idea why this happens and how the hell I let itunes know that I've already updated?

I have the iPhone 16 GB S6 with the latest version of the software: installed 9.2.1.

Any help would be appreciated. Please note that I am a Luthier and build guitars. I'm about like a fish!

    Barry.

A version update of iOS 9.2.1 is out to solve a problem with error 53 and replaced the sensors contact ID - if your phone is already on iOS 9.2.1 is without doubt the old version of it, not a new. As far as I know the new version will be only detected by iTunes from the computer, not directly on the phone in settings > general > software update.

    Greetings Dani56777,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

I understand that you run Windows 10 and you must update iTunes to the latest version so that your iPhone will be recognized when connected. I do not know if you receive an error when you try to update iTunes or not.

If you need information on how to update iTunes, please follow the instructions in the following link.

Download the latest version of iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

If you receive an error or alert, you can consider removing iTunes and all of its associated components and then reinstalling fresh iTunes on your computer. That would give you the latest version of iTunes. If you need execute this process, please follow the steps described in the following article.

Remove iTunes Control Panel and its associated components

Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components in the following order:

    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4. Hello
    5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
    6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

On some systems, iTunes can install two versions of the Apple Application Support. What is expected. If both are present, do not forget to uninstall both versions.

Do these elements in a different order, uninstall or uninstall only some of them. This could have unintended effects. After you uninstall a component, you may be asked to restart your computer. Wait to restart your computer until you finish remove all components.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and software for Windows 7 and later versions - Apple Support components

    Have a great day!

  • Update iOS 10, iTunes says I need to upgrade to version12.5.1, but when I try the App Store says it's already up to date

So I went to update my iPhone to the latest version 6.  I backed up via iTunes and when I type it tells me I need to install the latest version of iTunes, version 12.5.1.  I click it and it takes me to the app store, which in turn told me that it is already up to date.

  • iTunes update iOS iPhone even if request the latest version installed

    Hello

My version of iTunes [12.3.2.35] asking to update my iPhone to 9.2.1 software even though I already have installed 9.2.1 on my iPhone 6.

I have an iPad Air that is synchronized in the same library, also using 9.2.1 but the correct version is detected and I do not receive the prompt to update.

What is the cause and what should be done. Thank you.

There was a version update of iOS 9.2.1 released for iPhones which fixed an issue with Touch ID and error showing 53 (the update applies only to certain models of phones) - Apple has maintained the updated 9.2.1 IOS version but the build number (the number after the 9.2.1 on your second screenshot) will change. Update the phone via iTunes on your computer (I do not think that the update will appear directly on the phone in settings > general > software update) it will stop and prompt to update (taking a backup to first copy all purchases to your computer's iTunes library and grab your own copy of important documents or photos, preferably)
