Command-line installation or upgrade of oracle database
Hi allJust a question,
OPERATING SYSTEM; OUL5x64 without x window
Is it possible to install or upgrade the database using command line
NO X-WINDOWS?
or if you know any docs on this issue, please provide a link.
Thanks in advance.
It is not possible.
Even a silent installation requires X-Windows.
It is also not a problem as X-Windows has always been required.

Installation diagram HR in Oracle Database 12 c
Hi, for the life of me I can not the HR schema installed.
With OEL6 and Oracle Database Linux 12.1 c
With the help of the wizard and advanced configuration, I chose to include sample patterns. Everything installed OK. However, none have been installed.
I then downloaded the examples file, unzipped, installed. All right.
Tried to follow: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/server.121/e15979/installation.htm
but also:
But in vain. I still get the same error:

Can someone tell me please in the right direction?
Took forever (it's really the first time I use Oracle, no knowledge of database), but I finally got it to work, so I'll mention it right here for others to take advantage if all goes well. As I am new, some of these steps might not even be necessary, I'm not sure
Turns, even if I have included diagrams of the sample in the installation, the only installed pattern was the Scott schema. Unfortunately, that was not the HR schema.
You will need to download the examples of schema file and install it.
Then follow step 1 in the following post:
https://community.Oracle.com/message/11234394#11234394
Who said you have to understand an Earphone for your PDB (not the PEH).
So just add another entry for your PDB if you do not already have one in /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora #note: directory names different. Mine was too
Important part is the (SERVICE_NAME = pdborcl) or what is called your PDB.
Stop and start the listener:
lsnrctl stop $
lsnrctl start $
Follow step 2 in the same post above to change the script of human resources which should be /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/demo/schema/human_resources/hr_main.sql
Or, just manually change the following lines in "BOLD". In the following example I changed it to my PDB called pdbtvts:
REM =======================================================
Grants of REM of the sys schema
REM =======================================================
CONNECT sys/&pass_sys@pdbtvts AS SYSDBA;
REM =======================================================
REM create schema hr objects
REM =======================================================
CONNECT hr/&pass@pdbtvts
Then, it is important that YOU do activate HR user having limited SESSION, otherwise you won't be able to connect. This happened to me.
Thus, under where the user hr has permission (over these lines, us has just edit), add the line in bold below:
GIVING CREATE SESSION, CREATE VIEW, ALTER SESSION, CREATE the SEQUENCE at the time;
GRANT CREATE SYNONYM, CREATE DATABASE LINK, RESOURCE, UNLIMITED TABLESPACE to the hour;
GRANT RESTRICTED SESSION on time;
Now, you need to connect to your PDB. Connect as sysdba as usual, which by default connects you to your PIC.
$ sqlplus / as sysdba
You can see that you are connected to your PIC if you issue 'show con_name '.
SQL > show con_name
CON_NAME
------------------------------
CBD$ ROOT
Connect to your PDB by using the following command "connect sys/XXXXX@pdbtvts as sysdba" where XXXXX is your SYS password
You must be connected to your PDB now.
SQL > show con_name
CON_NAME
------------------------------
PDBTVTS
Now, run the script:
SQL > @?/demo/schema/human_resources/hr_main.sql
You will be guests 5 things
1 hr user password - enter a password
2. name of the default tablespace - type "users."
3. temporary with name - type "temp".
4 SYS password - type your real password SYS
5. connect directory - type in "
$ORACLE_HOME
/demo/schema/log/
"If all goes well, you will get:
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
Make sure you have things:
SQL > select * from hr.employees;
Really hope it works for you as it did for me. Here everything was simple for beginners luck.

Any ideas? It worked perfectly fine before the upgrade... I use Oracle 10.2.0.4 database JDBC jar files.
Thank you
Matthias HoysHello
Machines virtual Java is backward compatible, so you can use the JDBC 1.4 with JVM 1.5 or later without problem, no need to download new classes.
And Yes, I think that it is best to go directly to JDK1.6... Here I have 1.6 and use the tool to export Apex with the 10g JDBC classes without problems.

Published by: houda Shareef on 4 March 2012 10:25I guess that your listener.ora always has a section of SID and you did not copy paste... Then please post the entire file
Please open a command line window and do:
C:\oracle\ora9I\bin\hsodbc
After all output including the call.Published by: kgronau on March 6, 2012 18:31
When the listener above is still correct, the cause would be that you have 2 SID with the same name in your listener.ora:

(SID_LIST =

(SID_NAME = ODBC1)

Convert flat file to XML document and store it in the Oracle database
First of all:
I have a flatfile and created an external table to read this file in Oracle
Now, I want to create an XML document for each line and insert in the Oracle database, I think as XMLtype.
Could you please give me some information/steps.
Second:
Are there performance issues, because every day, I need to check that the XML document stored in the database against the next file.
Thank you.I won't tell it not in the same words that Marco used, but your solution is impassable and an invitation for bad things to happen.
Wait miserable performance, and you will not be disappointed.
The concept of total flexibility works up a code that you depend on has no idea what to do with what is playback.
Will happen to enough short term and is roughly the equivalent of the absurdity of Java to be independent of the database.I would recommend you take the concept and consider, with your data volumes, something more likely to succeed.

Hi DBA:
We are evaluating different methods of upgrading 11 GR 2 DB to 12 c (12.1.0.2) this year, it is very important for us to use the right method. It was reported that when DB version was 9i and has been updated to 11g, there were some order of tables 'line' was wrong when execute SELECT statements in application (Java application) - at the moment I didn't if it is ' select * from... "or any specific part with a"where"clause, and what type of data was wrong (maybe sequence CLOB data, etc.).
I think I know, ' exp/imp', "expdp/impdp" logical backup of DB methods. Therefore, Oracle automatically import data and fix it in each table. If no error in impdp connects after it's over, should not be any mistake, right?
If the use of the method of 'creates a new data + expdp/impdp basis for schemas user' 11g 12 c port data, questions:
1. this method will lead to erroneous sequence data when ordering? If so, how to re - generate the sequence number?
2. this method can bring CLOB, BLOB data and without any errors? If error, how to detect and repair?
I use the same method in the 10.2.0.5 to 11g port data, no problem.
I'll keep this thread posted after getting more information from application.
Thank you very much!
Dania
INSERT... SELECT, CREATE TABLE in the SELECT and Export-Import will all "re-organize" the table by assigning new blocks.
In place--update (using DBUA or command line) don't re-create the user tables (although it DOES not rebuild the data dictionary tables). Therefore, does not change the physical location of lines for user tables. However, there is no guarantee that a further reason for INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE instructions does not change the physical location of ranks. Nor is it a guarantee that a SELECT statement will return always stored in the same order unless an ORDER BY is specified explicitly.
If you export the data while it is still used, you don't avoid update sequences in the source database. Usually results in a mismatching number sequence between the source database and the new database (imported). In fact, even the numbers may be different, unless you use CONSISTENT or FLASHBACK_SCN. (These two options in exp / expdp do NOT prevent update sequences). The right way to manage sequences is to rebuild or increase them in data imported with the values in the data source, once the import is complete.

Upgrade command-line VCenter fails with incorrect path in VCDatabaseUpgrade.exe
I worked on a powershell script to upgrade the server vCenter (example below). I can upgrade the SS and the Service of inventory without any problem, but vCenter fails during the database upgrade step.
Error:
VC details:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
8 GB RAM
4 x Intel Core i7 960
vCenter 5.5 build 1378901 installed (Yes, I copied the file OCSetup.exe and installed the ADLDS feature before installation).
Cluster SQL
Script I run below:
Write-Host "Upgrading vCenter" $vCPath = "$InstallSource\vCenter-Server\VMware-vcserver.exe" $processInfo = New-Object System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo $vCPath $processInfo.arguments = "/S /v`" /qr DB_EXISTING_VERSION=550 DB_USERNAME=$AdminUser DB_PASSWORD=$AdminPass LAUNCHWIZARD=1 VCS_DB_BACKUP=1 SSO_ADMIN_USER=$AdminUser SSO_ADMIN_PASSWORD=$AdminPass /L*v $env:temp\vmvcsvr.log`"" $processEXE = New-Object System.Diagnostics.Process $processEXE.StartInfo = $processInfo $processEXE.Start() | Out-Null $processEXE.WaitforExit() if ($processEXE.ExitCode -ne 0) { Write-Host "The error code is:" $processEXE.ExitCode "Exiting!" exit }
I have also included the vminst.log file.
The log file and the screenshot show the wrong file path (missing one ' \') characters in the path. Any thoughts?
I did some digging in the vmvcsr.log file and noticed that it changed the SetupDir and the SETUPEXEDIR to Z:\vCenter-Server instead of Z:\vCenter-Server\
I added the SETUPEXEDIR = and SetupSource = command line options and the installer still changed their return. "So, I removed the v'" and put the directories all in escaped quotes. This solves the problem.
I still think that the installer must put the correct path on its own source dir facility. It should be smart enough for that!
Here's the line Arguments that worked:
$processInfo.arguments = "/S /qr SourceDir=`"$sourceDir`" SETUPEXEDIR=`"$sourceDir`" DB_EXISTING_VERSION=550 DB_USERNAME=`"$AdminUser`" DB_PASSWORD=`"$AdminPass`" LAUNCHWIZARD=1 VCS_DB_BACKUP=1 SSO_ADMIN_USER=`"$AdminUser`" SSO_ADMIN_PASSWORD=`"$AdminPass`" /L*v $env:temp\vmvcsvr.log"

People,
Hello. Initially, my Windows XP host name is 'localhost' and IP 127.0.0.1.
I installed Oracle Database 11 g with Windows XP successfully and all customers in the database with the database instance running.
For some reason, I uninstalled all of the database server and remove the whole installation directory /oracle.
I have configured the address IP of Windows XP in 192.168.196.101 to ping other machines.
For my needs, I installed Oracle Database 11 g with Windows XP again. During step 7 of 8: Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, I got this error:
ORA - 12560:TNS: Protocol adapter error.
I click on the button "Password management", there is no line in this window (no user name, no account of the lock).
I have check the listener as below:
C:\ > lsnrctl
LSNRCTL > start
His output: earphone HEADSET name has already been started.
LSNRCTL > status
Its release:... Service DB1 has 1 instance. The instance BD1 ready state. The command completed successfully.I check \Oracle\cfgtoollogs\dbca\DB1\trace file, the entry is:
Listen [0] = LISTENER address = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP (port = 1522))(HOST=localhost))
I also check \oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\SAMPLE\tnsnames.ora file and listener.ora file, the entries are the same as below
HOST = localhost port = 1522
I think that HOST = localhost and port = 1522 is the cause of the ORA-12560 error because Windows XP was configured in HOST = 192.168.196.101.
But I do not understand how to solve this problem.
Can any folk tell me how to solve this problem? must cancel the installation of 8 on step 7 and install it again?
Thank you.> The problem is that I am installing Oracle Database 11 g with Windows XP
Why? above is NOT a supported combination.
What makes you think that it should work without error?

Fresh minimal management WebLogic installation command line problems
I'm always getting WebLogic 12.1.3 works correctly for me.
I did a new install this morning. My Oracle is c:\orc\mdw\orh. I did a minimal install of WebLogic server and have none of the advanced configurations.
My domain name is configured on this path: c:\wls\domains\randy
and contains a single AdminServer. I started my AdminServer at the end of the Configuration Wizard automatically and it is now running.
I have two problems:
1. I can't to the console with the URI referenced in my installation: http://%MACHINE_NAME%:7001/console
I get an ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED (AdminServer is running according to the command line). I had to enter the username and password in order to start my AdminServer from the command line, so I don't know who was right because the AdminServer started and is running.
2 if I go in my area bin (c:\wls\domains\randy\bin) directory and run stopWebLogic.cmd I get the error:
Error: could not find or load the main weblogic class. WLST
I did not any changes to configuration files and I'm stumped. I can't stop WebLogic from the command line or go to the page of the console in the browser.
Any ideas? Thank you.
You get [error: could not find or load the main weblogic class.] Server] because it seems that WL_HOME is not set correctly, please see the contradictory output

Can you please let us know which directory contains all of the artifacts of weblogic 'C:\orc\mdw\orh\wls12130' or 'C:\orc\mdw\orh\wlserver'.
Usually the directory "wlserver" is located in the directory "wls12130", have explicitly moved the wlserver outside the wls1230?
Means that your WL_HOME should actually be 'C:\orc\mdw\orh\wls12130\wlserver'.

Hello
I use shell, awk and php scripts to encapsulate sqlplus for html output requests
Simple question:
1 - What is the best (or fastest) way to generate an HTML output of a command line script (sqlplus, sqlcl, sqldeveloper)
Subsequently, I use sqlplus on a linux machine, because he does not expect 4 or 5 seconds for the launch of all java stuff on every single batch request, and does not expect the end user to the browser page
can 2 - I use other databases (of course with the related jdbc drivers) with sqlcl?
(with sqldeveloper, can interrogate data bases mysql or mssql)
Sorry for my English.
Thanks in advance.
