How to remove a shortcut with the command line?

How to make a backup of the local users and groups with command line?

You delete a shortcut, just as you would remove any other file.  A shortcut will end with the extension ".lnk".  So assuming you are trying to remove the shortcut named "Shortcut.lnk" which appears to the user 'Bob's Office, you use the button Delete (del) or 'clear' command by specifying the full path to the file.  (Remember to put filename in quotes if there is a space anywhere in the path or name) as in:

    del "C:\documents and settings\Bob\Desktop\Shortcut.lnk".

What kind of a backup 'users and groups' you want to do?  If there is a backup of the users and groups as written in the registry, a good registry as C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT backup program that will make the command line.  If you are trying to backup all users and their data as well, then you are better off with a backup program.

  • Creation of files via the command line

I'm trying to create a file of access database via a command line similar to right-click, click New and then click Microsoft Access database not only from a window (unless I can call this command line window).  Does anyone know how to do this?

The Right-click/New command is really just make a copy of a file stored in your templates folder.  So to do the same thing from the command line, you would simply use the command COPY and make a copy of your template file (an access database empty).

    I'm on windows, btw.

    Thank you.

When you run a command, Windows will search in a series of directories for this program to run. The list of directories is stored in what is called an environment variable. You must add the path to the bin of the sdk at this variable directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder Burrito\sdks\blackberry-tablet-sdk-0.9.3\bin).

You can access the path variable by right-clicking on my computer > properties. Select the Advanced tab and click on approx. Variables.

Under System Variables, search PATH and edit it. Add the path to the sdk bin directory (make sure that there is a semicolon, that separates the directories).

Open a command line window in the directory where your .bar file. When you run the command, Windows will look for blackberry - deploy and can be found in the directory that you have added to your PATH variable so to run it.

  • command-line comparison tool to compare the schemas of the db?

We would like to have the rest of the process where we have A server with an existing database with all tables (say there db version of Figure 3). We want to do the following
1 export all the information about the tables, columns, constraints, sequences from a file or something
    2 blow the database
    3 re-create the database
    4. have you Hibernate running with create and it will create all tables and constraints and sequences
    5. export all the information of this new scheme (version 4) to another file or something
    6. compare steps 1 and 5.

Can what tools I use to do step 1, 5 and 6? It's all automated, so I need some command line tools. How can I do this? I'm quite new to oracle and new on schema comparison as well.

    Thank you
    Dean

You don't mention a version of Oracle, so I'll assume something relatively new, 10.2 or 11.1.

An option that would be relatively simple to automate would be to use the DBMS_METADATA package to generate the DDL for each object in the schema (I assume that you're not really blow away the entire base Oracle, just the particular schema where you deploy your application tables). SQL * more script that covered objects in the schema, calling DBMS_METADATA, queue the results to a flat file would be all that is necessary. Assuming that you do this before and after reconstruction, you should be able to use your favorite diff command line tool to generate the differences between the two.

Another option would be to simply save the data in the data dictionary (e.g., USER_CONSTRAINTS USER_TABLES USER_INDEXES, USER_TAB_COLS, USER_CONSTRAINTS, etc.) and compare it to the actual data dictionary after the reconstruction (ignoring statistics columns that are supposed to change).

Oracle has also a pack of change management (additional cost) which has an interface SQL that you could probably use. But I'm guessing that this is not what you are looking for.

  • How Windows to determine which file to run with some command line commands?

I had someone ask me an interesting question, and I really didn't have a good answer for them.  We were talking about the command prompt.  I showed them how they could start some programs simply by typing a command at the command prompt.  Their question is how is it, some files require a full path to start?  Also how the Windows does not know which file to run when the 'explorer' simple as orders are entered?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi, Deedubbadoo,

Their question is how is it, some files require a full path to start?

You can have some files in the same directory that share the same file name but have different extensions. For example, you might have a file named compta.com can launch an accounting program and another called Accnt connects your system to the accounting system network.

The operating system searches for a file by using default file name extensions in the following order of precedence: .exe, .com, .bat, and. cmd to run Accnt so that compta.com exists in the same directory, you must include the .bat extension in the command line.

If a component of a path is a file name, it must be the last element

    Therefore: Explorer

  • How Windows Server backup and command-line tools are used in the installation of vCSHB?

How the Windows Server backup and command-line tools are used during the installation of vCSHB?  It takes in all types of deployments (PtoV, VtoV, PtoP)? It is used to create files that are put in file sharing for the second node to use during the installation of vCSHB or is it only used during a clone of vCSHB of a physical to physical deployment operation?  These tools are not used in some deployments?

You need backup Windows Server installed on the source and destination, and during the installation of vCSHB the installer will call the wbadmin (Windows Server Backup Utility) and will save the configuration and application data (application data is optimal, but can reduce the synchronization time after the installation of the secondary node). On the secondary node you will should only run the vCSHB Installer and everything will be restored.

Check this blog entry for some info on P2P deployment issues: http://www.vcoportal.de/2013/12/vmware-vcenter-server-heartbeat-restore-on-a-second-node-a-journey/

  • How to install a local help for the tools of cmd.exe and command line on Windows 7?

    Hello

for many applications, the command line (cmd.exe) is a good choice to get results with minimum effort. The shell has continuously been improved over the years, at least until Windows XP.

All the command line tools have a short help screen (using the /? option). When you need more information, you use Windows system for example from the Explorer Help. It is very good.

Now, Windows XP Help content was installed on site, and the operating system. In Windows 7, my computer wants to go to the Microsoft web site on the internet and there is no local help available. The operating system seems to be incomplete. This makes the help system unusable on a computer without internet access or when the server is not accessible.

So my question is: is it possible to install a local copy of help for the tools of cmd.exe and command line under Windows 7 or do we have to go back to Windows XP?

    Thank you
