• CS4: How can I copy potions named the timeline in the project Panel?

  I'm trying to copy part named from my timeline in the project Panel and I can't get past the segment.

  Ah, OK, I see what you're talking about. Basically, what you're watching is naked enforcement framework, in which all the other panels are anchored. I'm guessing that you undock all panels of the interface - looks like your timeline panel is floating so. For lack of a better explanation, it is supposed to work this way, although I agree that it's a bit ugly and confusing. Bottom line is that you should generally not float all panels, only the ones you need to take account of the workspace you want. This is especially true on Mac OS X where you cannot extend the scope of the application on multiple monitors - you need to do floating panels in this case to them across multiple monitors.

  I would say that resetting the workspace to the default layout (window > Workspaces > reset to saved layout) and using a combination of floating panels, only pulling on those you need and resize the frame of the main application. Hope that helps.

• After opening project, several tabs of this project are displayed in the project Panel.

  The number of project committees is saved as a property of the workspace. So if you have a project open with, say, 5 panels of project open to different locations and you create a new project, the new project will also 5 panels project - but given that the new project is not the garbage, all instances of project group will be opened at the level of the root.

  A quick way to remedy this is to reset the current workspace or select a backup one layout, you like a personalized workspace and move to after the creation of a new project.

  I have no ' t know when this behavior changed, but when I dragg one sequence from the project Panel to another sequence, it will not place this sequence as a whole (as it used to be), but as you have selected all the clips containing. Its a good thing, but can someone tell me how to do the old way? I tried to keep alt-shift-etc... Did not work.

  Try the left button from the top on the table of the sequence. He alternates between the entire sequence in medallion, as before, or as individual items.

• Change the default layout of the tabs in the project Panel

  With each new project, I'll have to manually rearrange the tabs in the project Panel to meet my workflow.   Specifically, I would like to permanenly change the tab order so that the 'Good' tab is listed first, followed by the duration of the video... etc.

  Hello users of Premiere Pro! I am currently in transition from FCP to Premiere. Slowly, but surely.

  Quick question about the project Panel. I'm a big fan of adding metadata to save the images. There is a way of sorting by scene, journal, FPS, Nom_de_la_bande Notes and so forth, but nothing for decision-making/plan. There is an input box in the main metadata tab for it, but when the projects are huge, I would rather not click in each clip to the figure which is which. Also, I would rather not change the name of the file. I could probably stick it in one of the other fields, but I'm curious to know if these organizational "tabs" can be added/subtracted at the PCF. Click right does not work.

  P.S. I am aware it is traditionally implemented as scene, Shot, take, but I was able to make it work with only two of these classifications.

  In the upper right corner of the project Panel, you will see a small menu button that looks like a stack of pancakes; Click on it and select the option to display the metadata presented here. In the search box, type 'shot' or 'take' and you can check the items of metadata to display. Alternatively, you can remove items you don't need. Do not forget to save these settings, so you can quickly recall later. You can then rearrange the column headers in the project Panel to accommodate your preferred Info screen.

• Keyboard shortcut to open any item in the project Panel in the Source Panel? H

  Hello, I have a lot of assets in my project Panel I need to open one at a time inside the source, preferably without having to always go to the mouse any time.

  I can't find the correct shortcut on the various lists of Adobe shortcuts for this very common feature.

  Am I missing something?

  If shortcuts shift + # are useful in their own right - they are used to focus a particular Panel, at least by their designation by default - they are not what you are looking for in this case.

  Try this instead:

  

  Furthermore, a simple way to get a list of all the possible shortcuts in one place is to hold down the Shift key and control (I think that command on Mac) and go to Edition > customization of the keyboard. This will reveal an Easter egg from button in the dialog box titled "> Clipboard." If you click here, then go to a text editor and use the Paste command, you will get all the shortcuts and their current mappings in a long text document. Because you cannot search for a given command in the keyboard customization dialog box, but you can in a text document, it is at least a way to discover new possibilities of keyboard shortcuts that might otherwise be found.

• Play and rename the clip in the project Panel, using only the keyboard

  I want to use my keyboard to navigate through the items displayed in the thumbnail view in the Panel project (pictured below), play these clips and rename these clips. Already, I am able to up, down, left, right keys to navigate and can press ENTER to rename the clip. However, the space bar does not play the selected clip unless I use my mouse to click on it.

  

  I really want to avoid using my mouse in this process. This will greatly enhance the convenience of crosses a lot of clips and visualizing and renamed.

  Someone at - it suggestions? Open to workarounds or other ways to skin this cat.

  It is a problem I always had with first - I think that it is not a solution, but I wanted to ask the community to see if someone has found a way.

  I don't think there is a way to play a clip with Sapcebar in the project without first Panel by clicking on it. You should have a demand: feature request/Bug Report Form

  There is a work around using only keyboard shortcuts, if you are interested. I prefer this workflow myself because you have to make the thumbnails big enough so that they can be useful, in my opinion.

  If you have already said, you can navigate with the arrow keys, press ENTER to return to rename and move to another clip or enter on the numeric keypad to not go to the next clip. When I do what you, I open my clips in the Source monitor and view them there, air conditioned and have no mice. SHIFT + O is the default shortcut to open an item in the Source monitor, but I've changed mine to Cmd + down arrow (as OS X). Then you can shuttle, set in/out points, make markers, etc., and then when you go to your next video you press SHIFT + 1 to return to your project Panel. It's more shortcuts, Yes, but given that you are looking for a KB option-driven, I feel you're fast enough with your fingers, and once you do it a few times, it is true no big thing at all.

• Can I sort video clips in the project Panel chronologically?

  Hello. The refernece on all of my recent video clips is followed YYYYMMDD to another digits.mpg 6 this is a total of 14 digits with the last 6 digits very random. I have hundreds of clips.

  When these clips are in the PR CS5 project Panel, they are not in chronological order, also is very slow work trying to edit in the correct time/date taken.

  My video references have previously followed M2U to a 5-digit number which was very easy to sort for editing.

  Hope someone is able to help me here. I might have to rename the clips digitally before their trip to Premier Pro.

  In the bridge: display/sort/by Date of creation, then select all and go to rename tool in package.

  Many names of clip 14-digit does not sound easy to handle first, at least for me.

  I prefer a unique name with an ascendant 2 or 3 digits.

• You can 'favorite' clips and have an option to display the clips in the project Panel are currently in a sequence?
