Companion of power - leave it plugged all the time?

I just received the companion of 18 000 mah power and had a quick question. Is it harmful to the battery to let online with my laptop (XPS 13) supported 'all the time '?

I hope that the companion is smart enough for the transmission of the power directly to the laptop when the battery is fully charged. I'm mainly a/c power, but do not take trips that extend from time to time.

Thank you

No it won't. The battery controls the load and the load stops when it is fully charged. You can monitor the load using BattStat. The charge current will drop slowly and eventually drop to zero.

I use my MacBook Air as a desktop computer. Should I leave the charger plugged all the time or should I drain the battery and then recharge? What is the best for the battery?

Keep the computer plugged in whenever possible.

If you keep the computer always connected, make sure that at least twice a month

Run it on battery until battery charge level falls to about 40-50%.

Please don't completely discharge the battery. Discharge the battery completely will reduce wear and tear on the battery.

"The question is often asked:" should I disconnect my laptop from the mains when not in service? Under normal circumstances it should not be necessary because as soon as the lithium-ion battery is full, a properly functioning charger will stop the load and load the pad will only engage when the battery voltage drops to a low level. Most of the users do not remove AC power, and this practice is safe. »

  • The phone blackBerry Smartphones leaving plugged all the time.

I always let my phones connected to electricity when not travelling. Is it possible to do this with a BlackBerry Storm? BlackBerry dosen't seem to have any help for new customers except the good old pay type.

100% is 100%. I would recommend how to withdraw the BB once the load is 100% and the topping charge that you need on the device.

  • Is it better to leave my computer all the time, it starts once a day... or restart 2 - 3 times a day when I use it?

I wonder if that makes a difference in the wear and tear on the computer the frequency at which it turned itself off and then restarted.

Why do you want to start it 2 - 3 times a day?
Do not use it, you can put in stand-by or hibernation!

Unless you absolutely must re-boot, you can use alternatives.

  • He done wrong to leave the USB cable all the time?

To clarify, I like this feature of bedside or desktop clock where you tilt the phone L shaped and clock lights up.

However, I know with other phones, if you leave the USB cable all the time, this is not good for the battery.

What is the case with the backflip? I guess because Motorola announce this clock function, it's OK to do so.

It will not harm the phone, it's the same as if you left your phone connected to your A/C charger. Once it's charged, it no longer attempts to charge the battery. --- Dan

  • Why Lightroom keeps using 30% of CPU power all the time?

    Hi all

    I'm relatively new to LIghtRoom.

I started working on a new series of photos (400 app.). I opened it to the new directory.

Since then, all the time I'm working on theses images Lightroom guard using about 30% of the time processor.

More all the time, I spent on these photos is estimated at over 30 hours, then (Yes, I'm slow and open each one in Photoshop while Lightroom is still open). So I guess that Lightroom has completed all rendering, they wish to do.

My question is why and what she maintains the calculation and is there a way to stop it?

    The system configuration:

Single core Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 3.6 GHz (Hyper Threading allowed)

    2 GB OF RAM

Graphics based NVidia 6600 (256 MB)

2.3 LightRoom and PhotoShop CS4 are open

Please help - the system is slow anyway. He can really use these additional CPU power.

Check your preferences and make sure that the option to write metadata are automatically disabled.

With your set to the top, I would not go PS and LR simultaneously for a long time.

Select all the photos and made them LR average Previews might help a bit. Make sure that the task is completed before doing anything else.
