Compaq Presario SR1250NX desktop PC. How up to date for my extreme 3.4 ghz processor

I have 4 g of ram. Win 7 ultimate. ASUS gt 440 vid card. the Commission stated that it would take up to 3.4 2.9 processor, but it freeze at startup. is there a bio update or drivers available to make it work? or the 915 chipset won't hack it. ? I really tried to figure it out without worrying about someone, but I give up. Thank you for your charity to the poor stupid people...

Hello:

The processor does not work just because it's simply not supported in your PC.

Unfortunately, documentation on upgrading the processor of your motherboard is very vague. So don't feel not bad about it. It is the jumps, as they say.

If you would like the right processor, then just get the Pentium 4 650.

Here is the link for comparison next to the processor you have installed. and the one taken in charge.

Here are the specifications of your Compaq Presario SR1909UK desktop and it is card mother A8M2N-(NodusM). There is a conflict in the two specifications for what CPU socket is actually used. The computer specifications claim a socket 939 CPU, while the motherboard plug State she has a socket AM2. You will need to examine your system to confirm what type of CPU and socket he did.

It can be difficult to locate a market after motherboard that will meet your needs as AM2 socket 939 about 5 years to 8 years and are several obsolete generation. • Compaq Presario SR1214NX desktop PC: update BIOS for SATA HDD?

    Hi CV Experts.

In 2004, I bought a HP Compaq Presario SR1214NX desktop PC. Now, leave the original hard drive and I bought a new Seagate 500 GB SATA hard drive. I thought that this would work because the PC MoBo has two SATA connectors. After installation, I noticed the drive is not detected. I checked the BIOS but not hard listed. The installed BIOS is "BIOS Award BIOS Core Version 6.0 revision 3.10 26/07/2004.» What can I do? Is there a BIOS update available?

    Help, please!

Do more research on this issue, I think that this motherboard may not have native support SATA. You can use ports SATA via Windows after you have installed the necessary drivers. I suggest that you add a primary as hard drive IDE PATA drive and load Windows. Post windows installation, install the necessary SATA drivers and plug the secondary drive SATA for use as a hard disk.

I'm sorry for all of the early confused communications.

  • Upgrade a Compaq Presario SR5710F desktop computer

Hello, I'm recovering because as far as I can get out my Compaq Presario SR5710F desktop... right now there windows vista service pack 2 32-bit. The processor is an AMD Athlon 64 dual core 4450e to 2.3 GHz with 3 GB of ram at 800 MHz. First of all, since the processor is 64-bit, I was wondering if a windows 7 64 upgrade is recommended... Secondly, I know that even though I have a 64-bit processor, the maximum capacity of ram I have is 4 GB due to the motherboard, but with this card mother, is possible to increase the speed of greater than 800 MHz ram (for the motherboard specifications are hard to find). I was also thinking to replace the graphics card, but what I am seeing that will probably require a different diet and I am on a limited budget. Any suggestion? Please take into consideration the fact that this upgrade is not for games etc, its a home computer that I'm trying to be as updated as possible for a minimal cost. I am realistic, however, and I know it's an old PC. More I am not worried about existing programs (32-bit), I certainly intend on a new installation

    RickCraw,

Here are the specifications of your Compaq Presario SR5710F desktop computer and its card mother MCP61PM-HM (Iris8). According to the specification, this model has PCIe x 16 graphics card slot and a 250 watt power supply.

    (1) most retail graphics cards require a 300 watts or more big power supply system to work properly. Install a new graphics card to detail will require the replacement of power supply as well.

    (2) Yes, you can install Windows 7 64 bit on this computer. I recommend the upgrade of RAM at a minimum of 4 GB for use with a Windows 64-bit operating system.

    (3) NO, you cannot change the speed of the RAM. Your system is limited to the following specifications/configurations of memory;

    Dual channel memory architecture

    Two connectors DIMM DDR2 240-pin

    Supported DIMM types:

    PC2-4200 (533 MHz)

    PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

    PC2-6400 (800 MHz)

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered

Supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB modules

    Supports up to 4 GB (2 x 2 GB = 4 GB)

  • Compaq Presario CQ5300Y desktop PC - memory upgrade

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all well.

I have a desktop PC Compaq Presario CQ5300Y, to which I would like to upgrade the memory.

The product specifications indicate clearly that the motherboard, a M2N68-(Narra5), 2 x DDR2 memory media. (In addition, the amount of installed memory is 2 GB.)

The product specifications, in the information section of upgrade memory also mention the following:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dual channel memory architecture
    Supports two DDR2 DIMM (240-pin)

    Supported DIMM types:

    PC2-5300 (667 MHz)
    PC2-6400 (800 MHz)

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB modules
Supports up to 4 GB * on 32-bit PCs
    * 32 - bit operating systems cannot resolve a full 4.0 GB memory.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm clear (with what the article said) I have only available two DIMM DDR2 2 brackets.

"What confuses me is the statement" ""supports 2 GB DDR2 DIMM '. This is the reason for my question.

"Supports 2 GB DDR2 DIMM" means that I have to use 2 GB DDR DIMM only, which means I can only go to 4 GB? Or could I use 4GB DDR2 DIMM, which breaks the barrier of 4 GB?

In a few words, I would like to - at least - 8GB (assuming that I find two modules DIMM DDR2 4 GB). Would it be possible to have the above configuration?

It is important to mention that the PC is running a 64-bit operating system.

I would appreciate the attention he can draw on this issue.

    Best regards.

    Hello:

Each slot of memory on the motherboard of your PC cannot accept that a maximum of one module of memory of 2 GB.

    1 x 2 GB will work.

    2 x 2 GB will work.

    1 x 4 GB will not work.

    2 x 4 GB will not work.

  • Questions about upgrading a Compaq Presario CQ5205Y desktop computer system

    Good evening

I'm about to embark on my first serious upgrade of my computer, and I thought it would be a good idea to arrive before I get too far down the rabbit hole (and knocked out my Internet access).  What motivates the need to upgrade, it's that the system tends to lag when I programs using a lot of memory running and I think I can give him a decent boost on reasonably low budget.

I have a desktop PC Compaq Presario CQ5205Y Win7-64 bit without modification until running.  I'm lookin to upgrade the CPU and the RAM of the machine.  For ease of reference, here is the page describing the system:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c01859812&lang=en&cc=us&Conte...

For the CPU, I found a good price on an AMD Phenom X 4 9750 2.4 GHz Quad-Core CPU (HD9750WCJ4BGH).  What I read, it meets the necessary criteria (socket AM2 + 95W, etc.).  I still need to determine if it needs a fan or non - language marketing indicates that it is not), but assuming that it works, here are my questions for this update:

1 should I update the BIOS on the card, or change one of its parameters to recognize the new chip?

    2. with regard to the installation, I think that it's pretty simple - unlock/remove the Semprom LE-1300 that is there now, carefully align the new processor Phenom X 4 (Golden to golden triangle triangle) and tighten in place. Then, if necessary, install the fan/radiator.  Is this correct, or am I missing something important and potentially catastrophic?

For the RAM, I have not bought, but I think I need barrettes 2x2gb DDR2 memory unbuffered, non - ECC memory.  I'm showing my ignorance here, but I imagine that rain is better in this case and is much better than the PC2-5300 memory PC2-6400.  If Yes, then maybe something like (or more affordable if I can find it):

    http://www.TigerDirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6252562&CSID=_61

Once again, a couple of very similar questions:

    1. do I need to change BIOS settings after I installed memory or if the automatic detection system?

    2. I swapped memory on other computers before so I guess that this motherboard is always the same - unclip/dethrone the existing memory, slide into the new and snap it in place.  Does this sound right?

In my view, which covers everything I know, but if anyone has any other advice or warning indication, they would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for help a beginner brave new waters.

    Processor:

    (1) no updated BIOS available for this model

    (2) more or less correct... you will need a HSF (heatsink & fan) for the new processor and a thermal paste. After the installation of the CPU, you apply the thermal is dedicated to the then install the HSF. The stock will be Sempron HSF to adapt and work but can not dissipate the extra heat

    (3) it is one of these models that will accept AM3 Athlon II and Phenom II CPU (see CPU upgrade in specs), but if it is supported depends on the revision of the motherboard and the BIOS version. Your choice of Phenom 9750 is a sure way to go

    Memory:

    (1) once again, no BIOS update available for this model

    (2) sounds right

    (3) you can look at Newegg.com best prices
