Compatibility between operating systems when it comes to CD Rip

Recently, I ripped several important albums of CD from my computer to the main archive (in WAV format) House. 2 CD that have been archived on my laptop (as wav) have been copied using an external hard drive. I put the files in exactly in the same way, as I found it but surprisingly the WMP has the songsall on the site: some were copied correctly while other information missed as the album name and year - the things which existed on my laptop.

My laptop running Windows 7 and the home computer is Vista Home Premium.
My main concern is that when I get a windows 8 or any computer in the future also, I have to re - fill in all the information to sort on, or good songs re - extract all.
If this problem is limited to Vista? Can songs correctly collect windows 7 to windows 8 (assuming I have copy the folder in all)
Thank you
PS please do not argue the need to WAV

Hi F'Dogs,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums!

You can change the attributes of the wav files by clicking on properties. In this way, the changes will be permanent. Even if you move the files between computers, if the attributes have been changed in the file properties< details,="" there="" should="" not="" be="" a="">

It will be useful.

Let us know if you encounter problems under windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.

    This problem is likely to make for an extension of the shell badly installed on your machine.  The way to solve this problem is to download and install the free software "ShellExView".  When you run this program, it displays all shell extensions that are installed on your machine with a checkbox next to it.  By unchecking the box, you can disable this particular shell extension.  By trial and error, you can find the one that is causing your problem.  Once you find it, the solution is usually apparent (usually UN-installing and re - install an application associated with this file extension).

  • How to restore my system when I bought it? Did not the disks in the operating system when the computer was purchased.

    Original title: System Restore

    How to restore my system when I bought it? No disk when I got it.

    I can not open a new document in works 9 says file is missing? System Restore has new date

    I want to go further? is there a way? Windows Vista home Premium SP2

    Hello

    System Restore puts your computer's settings to a date earlied.

    You mean that recovery of the system.

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

    Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

    If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Installation of an operating system when the PC has crashed and you have no cd for it

    I work on a PC (Philips), which was purchased by PC World by my brother, it is out of warranty and basically his breath his brain (CPU card mother MSI and duff all disc), I had a spare mother (ECS) and CPU and it was installed in the unit. Is there anyway that I can get hold of the operating system Vista Home Premium The cd to reinstall without having to go out and pay the full amount for a whole new CD and license, when I already had a license for this machine?

    You got a NEW computer.

    Read this:

    OEM and retail licenses:

    If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

    The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
    You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

    If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
    But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

    A single license is a single Installation.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    You are in a very grey re area Activation when you upgrade hardware; as OEM recovery disks are related to the original pub of Hardwaere license OEM Vista.
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    Hello JennyHanner,

    You have rec would be false information of the other poster in their response to you.

    1 recovery disks ARE reinstalling Vista discs (the final result is reinstalled Vista!). only informatuion had already to you on how to get...

    A LOT of computer manufacturers STILL have Vista Recovery DVD's available for their clients.

    I know from recent experience with clients.

    2 and you do NOT have to install the EXACT same tough at all.

    People spend their hard drives to a larger size and model all the time, and reinstall the operating system with no problems at all.

    HP is one of the few companies who occasionally may have this problem which is corrected by a phone call for them to download a specific file to ensure the compatibility of the BIOS.

  • Y at - it a startup of microsoft for windows vista premium disc which is downloadable on a computer to start the operating system when the HD does not start

    Since 2007, I have packard bell computer pc laptop. He came with a recovery or a bootable disc, but the genuine license is stuck under the machine. After System Restore today and a computer virus scan went to a reboot. But a black screen with the boot failure lights. I am unable to go to safemode, viaF8 or something else. He invites me to insert the recovery disk. What I can do besides take it to the seller. I have another laptop using windows vista can I create a recovery or startup disk that is compatible with this laptop. Waiting for your kind response

    NeoSmart is a very good drive to do a Startup Repair with.

    BUT it will not reinstall your operating system.

    For this, you need your computer manufacturer's recovery disks, or use a built-in recovery Partition.

    Read this info below:

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
