  Hi, I'm completely stumped on this problem. I got my new PC for about a month, and during the last two weeks, I knew the Windows device disconnect sound, maybe once or twice every 30 minutes. I didn't mind at first, but now it becomes incredibly annoying. After trying to diagnose the problem, I discovered that it was a problem with my monitor.   I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall display drivers and check the issue. Please use following steps:

  a. identify the type of adapter installed on your computer. Click the Windows 'Start' menu. Click on "Control Panel" and "system and security." Click on "Device Manager" click on 'show cards '. Your name and brand of your video card will be displayed.

  b. click on 'control panel '. Click on "Uninstall programs" under "programs". Scroll down the list until you find your video card driver; the pilot may not have your exact model in the name of the program, but it will show the manufacturer. For example, if you have an ATI graphics card, the driver would be "ATI Catalyst Control Center".

When the driver is installed correctly and may ask you to restart your computer, Windows will notify you.

  Plugin ExifMeta of Rob Cole displays the distance between the subject field (and much more).  Unfortunately, his Web site seems to be down again.  He has been very active here, but he has not posted in several months.
