  I don't 'think' the XP COMPATIBILITY MODE in Windows 7 will help you a lot. I "think" it uses Para-virtualization, which is unfortunately too slow for almost all games. I was able to run some software in a virtualized copy of Win XP, but the software was not a lot of resources like computer games is.

  I am surprised that your games break in Windows 7. I run 32 Bit Win XP Pro SP3 here at home, but I have recently built a machine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with 4 GB of RAM for my mother and it seems to work. My mother runs a Sims 3 and Sims 1 without problems, but Sims 2 gave here a few rendering problems that I don't think are associated with Windows 7.

  I recommend that players stick with Windows 7. Although there are other available operating systems, Windows 7 is probably the best operating system currently available to players.
