Compatibility with AMD processor

will be the processor on this MB: Gigabyte M3970AM 652951-001 motherboard for HP Angelica DDR3 Socket AM3 AMD 970... made the card Mother Angelica 2?

You are welcome. Thank you for the information, @dad2maxx.  Please do not be concerned furniture do not model. Believe me, you're not the first.

Here are the processors that you had to choose when you bought the computer:

Processor
Must select one of the following options:
FX-8100 (Zambezi) (95W), 2.8 GHz
FX-8120 (Zambezi) (95W), 3.1 GHz
FX-8150 (Zambezi) (125W), 3.6 GHz

This is compatible with the Mo Angelica2 processors:

Processor
TDP
FX-4100 (Zambezi) 95W
FX-6100 (Zambezi) 95W
FX-6120 (Zambezi) 95W
FX-6200 (Zambezi) 125W
FX-8100 (Zambezi) 95W
FX-8120 (Zambezi) 95W or 125W
FX-8150 (Zambezi) 125W
FX-8350 (Zambezi) 125W

It seems that your processor should work in the Anglica2.  The TDP is the same for each MB.  However, I can not ensure that all connections are the same.

  • CS3 usually open in Windows 7 - AMD processor question - HELP!

After a lot of research I found there was a common problem with the processors AMD on Windows 7 and get CS3 to run correctly. Apparently a patch was created, which fixed the problem for users with similar issues. But the links to the patches are no longer valid.

I have no phone right now, aint chat work - and I can email Adobe of course, someone please...

Here is the forum that I found with these links and explanations:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/software/25313-Adobe-CS3-64-bit-ultimate-3.html

From there, this pretty much describes:

"Just bought a HP Pavilion Elite with AMD processorand Windows 7 Home Premium.  Photoshop CS3 would install but cling when you access. Some forums suggest that Photoshop CS3 is not compatible with this processor AMD and Windows 7 (64-bit). I called HP and was told that the software is not compatible. I was about to return my computer when I found this forum. I downloaded and installed the patch. I then opened Photoshop (for the thousandth time) and voila - it FINALLY opens! »

I also found many other isntances of this complaint with AMD processors - Photoshop Gets a window opens then goes in does not. All other applications will not open (but do not appear in my task manager). So, it isn't really a specific complaint of Photoshop, but I'm placing here.

I've updated the graphics card, changed the classic desktop theme, not Aero, tried running the program in compatibility mode different, all to nothing does not.

This patch that these guys MENTIONED has GOT to be it. Someone help me to get back to work!

  • Upgrade the processor with AMD 10 - 4600M of HP Pavilion dv7-6101er (lz661ea) FS1 and FS1r2 taken

Hello friends. I own HP Pavilion dv7-6101er (lz661ea) and I want to upgrade processor. Current processor is A6-3410MX and socket FS1 I want to replace for socket AMD A10-4600 M FS1r2. But I'm not shure will be new processor works in my notebook? I asked this question in support of the ADM, they said that the two CPU is compatible, but need software support in the bios of the specific laptop models. I can't put this question to the HP support because the time of free assistance of my model is over. Please ask - my notebook BIOS will support a new processor?

All my books have HP I have always helped the company - buy its products, help me and you now. I'm not pleading for much - just a concrete answer - will work or not?

    N° !! That's where you're wrong. I'm not an employee of HP.

Very few of us here in the forums are employees of HP. Those who are, with few exceptions, are here volunteer their time to help the owners of HP products. It is a peer to peer forum, where the owners of HP products share their time and expertise, helping others who need assistance. We are here to help. We help voluntarily.

There is no concrete answer on this. Sometimes an upgrade to a non supported CPU will work, but more often it will fail.  Read my previous posts. The risk of any currency you use in your country to buy the new processor is yours, not me, or HP.

Here's a solid answer for you... Use a processor that is listed in the Service & maintenance Guide and your chances of success of upgrade will increase considerably.  I can't say that your upgrade success will be guaranteed because there's always the chance you can break something during the assembly/disassembly or not having knowledge of a critical assembly/disassembly procedure and inadvertently destroy your new processor.

If you want a high-performance CPU and chipset in a laptop computer, then choose when making a purchase of laptop. Computer laptop/notebooks are not actually intended to be upgraded.

How can I clear this reminder of update of the HP Support Assistant program?

    You are welcome!

    1. If machine BIOS update after downloading, it will automatically start the system and show you the whole process and progress.

2 just by downloading the BIOS update does not update. However no Expert here don't advise update BIOS to do as a routine, including through HPSA.

If an UPDATE of the BIOS damage your laptop computer, you will not be able to turn on the machine - in short - it'll be no more than an expensive paper weight.

3 If the BIOS has been updated successfully, then you go and not be able to on & do your work in portable as usual.

  • VMotion between 2 Hosts with different processors

    Hallo,

I have a server in my homelab I use for studies of VMsphere and I want to get a second machine to test advanced features such as HA, Vmotion etc.

My first server has a map of X9SCM-9 with processor Xeon E3-1230V2 (Ivy Bridge). I am currently running ESX 5.0 U2 on it.

I was counting on obtaining of material quality for the second host consumers because I don't want to spend a lot on it, so I thought that I need any CPU generation Ivy Bridge.

I tested today with a second machine with a Pentium G2020 Ivy Bridge, but when I try to Vmotion he says "the virtual machine requires physical features that are not available or disabled on the host... ».

So I figure there must be a difference in architecture regardless of the CPU beeing an Ivy Bridge CPU.

When I try to activate CVS it just me are going to the 'Nehalem' Version so my virtual machines running on host 1 would not be able to use all the features of the CPU since the Xeon.

So the question boils down to: what is the processor less which offer compatibility VCA L5?

Or is there something else to consider in VMotion between two hosts with different processors?

I got a shared storage, etc. of the same network configuration.

    Thank you

    Benjamin

    Hi Benjamin,

For compatibility VCA L5 want to look at one of the following models, Intel CPU:

    • Ivy Bridge: Series E3-1200-v2
    • HASWELL

I would recommend mental health that before rushing and a CPU purchase, check if a cheaper option would be, as Jon mentions in suppresss some fo the CPU compatibility checks so obviously, this is not desirable in a production environment, and must be applied in your study of VMware Lab to the home address.

    Hope this helps,

  • Advise on the maintenance of low temperatures with AMD TurionX2

    Hello

I decided to sacrifice some performance for the sake of cool temperatures and quiet fan. I have HP DV6, with AMD Turion RM-74 and HD4650.

So, Yes, you'll lose upward to the power of your CPU to 15 percent, but heyh, this processor is so fast that you won't be barelly opinion change. You will have always contained HD watch with 720 p and all the rest gently. Note that game will part more difficult, but consider your laptop not as a device created for the heavy game.

At one time or another, during games, one day your laptop colapse inevitable. It is simply not intended for games, what are the specs...

So, how to reduce your cell phone time:

    (i) power options-> several power supply options,

(ii) balanced diet-> change the settings.

    (iii) change advanced power settings

(iv) processor-> processor power management state Maximum-> on battery - 50 percent, Plugged in French - 85 percent.

    (vi) save changes and close.

Now, my temperatures are - slowed 48, heavy load - 57, extremelly heavy load (HD 720 p content) - 62-63. (Now my the CPU cores are at 47 degrees celsius).

CPU always runs fast, not so fast that it works on 100%, but well, fan is quiet and if you want games - go to your desktop pc, let laptop to lighter, although the specifications of the laptops are high.

simply, it can't handle the heat.

    Best regards.

and with the same temperatures - LOW temperature. So, try yourselves.

  • Hardware compatibility with dv4-2049wm

    Hello

I have a laptop dv4-2049wm and I plan to upgrade my laptop. May I ask if that are the highest CPU & GPU compatible with my laptop?

Also, if I improve my laptop or not, it's the material that decrease the temperature of my laptop (even if I'm not in air-conditioned places, that room temperature), as the heat weighed or such?

    Thank you!

    Here is your service manual:

    Manual

You can install up to an i5 2.53 ghz, and there are motherboards with integrated and discrete graphics. Your laptop is a special Wal-Mart. He needs a new motherboard and processor to do an upgrade of the AMD processor that is in it. Those who would cost well more that the laptop is when it is new, not to mention the cost of the work and the risk of damage caused by the upgrade. In most cases, you can't think in terms of upgrading a laptop other than the memory and hard drive. Graphics are not all stretch and a processor upgrade is like brain surgery, with all the costs, challenges and uncertainty of the outcome for the patient. Sell this laptop, and buy a new one and you will come out far in advance.

With respect to heat, it is by for the course with an AMD laptop. There is no other available radiator and if you can hear your fan rotation works. You can try to blow compressed air vents, but most likely repair is to open and remove dust from the processor all about and install new thermal paste between the cpu and the heatsink. This service can be done by following the steps described in the manual above to get to the CPU. You can also try one of laptop coolers powered by sold to best buy, usb etc...
