Complete reinstall - it clear all the settings? If I do a Parralell facility that will be ok?

My computer crashed...
I couldn't find the disk for this computer special so I tried a Windows XP from one of
several computers is more used... It does not work...

So I bought a new xp to install and that didn't work... indicates an invalid key product.
Company I bought said get it enabled... you can not active unless you
can get into the computer and use the Activation Assistant...

I tried to do a repair, I would not lose my settings... but doesn't look like
I'll be able to do... do you have some looking around... tried to know where to look
the disk for my files of settings... couldn't find anything, but... use the file and transfer
Assistant... which of course, I can't since I can't access windows...

A few hours later... I saw where you could make a "parallel" installation I
done before... but I think that this type of installation I have to redo everything again...
5 years ' worth of tweaking...

Another question... If I do a full install on a separate partition. I'll be able to access
the ID on the old windows partition?

And can someone tell me which files contain my personal settings... My toolbars of office...
and so on...

Help please!

Hello

You will be able to access the partition, if Windows is installed on a different partition.

In a repair facility, the risk of loss of files is very minimal.

You can perform the upgrade on site that may help you solve the problem...
