• InDesign CC 20141 completely unusable

  Since I installed the 20141 update last week, InDesign CC was completely unusable for me.  Everything works fine until I open an existing file or create a new one, then just stops.  I can't use it at all (I had to reinstall CS6 for work on InDesign documents).

  I am on Windows 7 (64 bit) - everything worked perfectly before the update.

  Everyone knows about this problem?  Is it possible to cancel update?

  FYI: I managed to work around this problem by running InDesign as an administrator.

• How to completely remove Photoshop Elements from my computer?

  I'm trying to completely remove Photoshop Elements from my computer.   So far, I've failed in my attempts to do so.   The reason why I have do is b/c for some reason I can't understand, my images - the folders named by date of shooting - files contain duplicates randomly. When this happens, the file names follow the convention of DSC_0222 and DSC_0222-1. Exactly the same size of file and metadata.  In some cases, each image is duplicated. In other cases, only certain images in the folder are duplicated.   I can't understand how they got there - for example it does not seem to bear no relationship to the photos that I have edited, which was a theory I've had for a while.   Elements is responsible? Or is this some sort of bug in the process of downloading the camera (I have a Nikon D40).  In any case, I have given up trying to sovle this problem and decided I return back to the beginning and reload all of my camera.   So my real question here is how to uninstall completely the elements.

  Here's what I did: I uninstalled Photoshop Elements through the Add/Remove Programs utility.  I have had no error during the uninstall process.   Then I completely deleted the directory my images (don't worry - I it backed up in several places!).   So, at this point there is * no. * photos on my computer at all.    I reinstall the elements, open upward and - you guessed it! -the catalog is still there with all the thumbnails of the photos that I deleted from my hard drive.   Of course, each thumbnail is reported as "missing".

  So, how uninstall/reinstall the elements and make forget any memory of the previous catalogue?   Why is it "remember" it that way when the images are no longer even on the computer?  Is this not a bug?

  I worked on this issue for far longer than I care to remember - if someone can tell me how to get really back at ground zero - so I can start over I would be deeply grateful.   After the upgrade to 9 (7) elements to try to solve this problem, I am close to abandonment of the elements entirely...

  While we're at it, if someone has any idea whence photos of duplicates and how to avoid that from happening, I'm ' all ears!

  Your catalog is deliberately stored separately in the PSE program files, so that you can uninstall/reinstall without losing all your work. You can delete the file catalog > catalog > remove, or do it manually. Look at help > System Info in the Organizer to find the path of the file.

• Photoshop is so slow, that it is completely unusable.

  I recently bought the CC and was shocked to discover that Photoshop CC 2015 is so slow, it's almost not even worth opening. I'm on a mac running El Capitan and I'll immediately go the bat and say my Macbook Pro is like 6 years old and has only 4 GB of ram. But for reference, my computer works CS6 on Windows XP and it is lightyears ahead of CC. At work, I can take a picture adjust this tweak that adds a filter text top jet and be done lickity Split. On my Mac CC 2015 takes about a minute to do anything. If I create a blank white canvas and do five strokes with a brush that the first will show the half pulled, 5 minutes later, another might appear, and that's it. I read tons of reports on similar issues in dozens of users. I tried things like increasing memory intense Photoshop use, decreased amounts of the history States, I even installed CC 2014 and it worked for a day, but that is now all too slow.

  Why I pay huge, monthly fees for an advanced application that runs slower than the version 4 years on an operating system dead, old 15 year?

• Question about the difference between the only creative cloud and complete sets / Photoshop

  I am an Adobe Photoshop / CS / CC novice, so I apologize in advance however stupid it may meet.  If I buy Photoshop via the package "single application" will I get to use Creative due to its full potential (masking, layers, sharpness, etc) or should I buy the package "complete individual" which is more expensive?

  I have no requirement for Adobe products beyond photo editing and I'm not familiar with other applications / products listed.

  If you subscribe simply Photoshop CC, you get the full application (aka, masking, layers, sharpening) as well as the 20 GB of online storage. You will not get one of the other applications like Lightroom or good Illustrator. You get only Photoshop.

• Why do firefox 4 is flashing constantly? I don't want just the flash, I mean the whole page. I'd like to solve this problem, either Firefox 4 is completely unusable. Help, please!

  It was a really strange phenomenon. I just upgraded to Firefox 4 an hour ago. The problem started as soon as the upgrade is complete. First of all, I get a black screen, then the page is displayed. However, when I move the mouse or scroll or anything like that, I get constant stuttering and flicker. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, maybe my computer settings are wrong. I had to go back to 3.6 to not even enter the help of forumPlease!

  safe mode is a bit drastic, for disable me hardware acceleration did the trick.
  Click on the orange menu button goto options-> options and then click Advanced at the top right there is an option somewhere in the middle of the hardware turn it off by unchecking the checkbox and press OK.
  Don't forget to try to re - activate after each update because hardware acceleration unfortunately improves the performance of the browser

  Rather than wait for a update for firefox, you can also try to update the driver for your grapicscard and see if this allows you to make hardware acceleration without problems.

  ~ edit: I'm color-blind firefox menu button is of course not yellow and orange, said protip for the graphics card drivers.

  I just license a lab of computers with Adobe CC 2015 device licenses. It seems that students cannot use the libraries at all without licenses to individual users. • Unusable Photoshop since yesterday!

  I use creative cloud, since it was released last year.  Last Thursday, I installed a new hard drive SSD in my Macbook Pro.  I installed a new copy of Cougar & all my Adobe apps.  Photoshop worked fine until yesterday, so the window below appears (and appears each time I open Photoshop).  I can't select either option, when I click the mouse on a button, I get the rotation beach ball, and is the only way to close Photoshop using the force quite.  Photoshop is not usable as long as I can get rid of this window that keeps popping up, anyone else having this problem or have a solution? FYI - I am able to use any other Adobe project with no problems (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).

  

  Release with Adobe and managed to get rid of it by resetting the preferences in the library folder.

• I can not install completely from Photoshop Elements 8 on my mac.

  I bought the software some time ago and it has just opened today.  It will not launch the installation instructions, when I insert the disc in the drive.  I opened the Setup program, but I don't know that it has not installed properly... I can't run the program at all - all I see are the names of files etc. when I open the folder.  In addition, I do not think that it properly installed because it is not an icon only a folder labeled pse.  I have a MacBook Pro.

  Rsburke713 that the screenshot was not in your message.  You want to click on the camera icon and then select the image file.  You should fine Photoshop Elements 8 in your Applications folder and not your office.

• Large brushes are not completely in Photoshop

  I have the Photoshop CS5 extended to install on my laptop (old) and use it in a Photoshop class.  I'm having a problem with the display of the brush.  It seems fine for the small brushes, up to 200px.  As the brush size increased, portions of the 'circle' begin to disappear, and by the time I get to a 400px or more large brush, only 1/4 or less of the brush "circle" is displayed.  The specified portion is the upper-left quadrant of the circle.  My instructor said that she had never seen this problem before.  I checked and I have the latest video drivers for my laptop (Dell Latitude D820, who is 4 years old.)  I also deleted my preferences file and start again, but no change.  Any suggestions?  Kay

  I assume you have the Quadro NVS display in adapter.  This is an old nVidia driver bug.

  Did you visit Dell.com to see if you have the latest video driver?

  You don't say what operating system you are using, but from what I see on their website, the driver they offer isn't too recent (156.83, since late 2007).  I'm not sure whether it can be newer than the one you are using, but if this is the case, you must download and install it.

  Unfortunately, with laptops can't usually update the driver from the web site of the manufacturer of the video card, but it is sometimes possible.
