  You may receive this message if Dsetup.dll is missing or corrupted in the download file. I suggest you to re - download the installer to the border area and try to install it.

  Incase you are unable to install after redownload and make the same mistake, you may have to contact the manufacturer of game software to check if you can download the installer from another location and if it works fine. You can also check with them if they have any fix for the problem.

  Sounds messy.

  If you see a message like this:

  Taskmgr.exe - Unable to locate component
  This application has failed to start because VDMDBG.dll is not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

  I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

  You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

  c:\Windows\System32
  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

  When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

  When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (for example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

  You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called vdmdbg when the name of the file should really be called vdmdbg.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

  You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

  PS Microsoft support engineers - "try running sfc/scannow and check if it helps" will not replace the missing vdmdbg.dll file because it is not what sfc/scannow does.  If you want to see an experiment to prove that, let me know because I have a ready-made.

• Satellite A100: some files are missing when copying DVD on the desktop

  Thank you for helping me check on this issue. I spent the better part of two weeks racking my brains out on what was the cause of the error message. According to me, what it boiled down to a faulty firewall on the server of our hosting provider. He was blocking the movement of our own office, causing the site to not load completely. Since my webhost has adjusted the firewall settings and the site load very well now. It turns out that the problem began minutes after we downloaded news that we had designed in Muse. So, our first thought was that we had damaged our Muse file somehow. But thank God it was a firewall issue instead.

  Seems that the installer of HP said you where the folder should be - but is not (before this) name the folder correctly.

  problem is solved,

  After re install Photoshop elements 14 a couple of times and also install the redistribution of files from Microsoft to have the required DLLs in the right directories.

  Then we checked the Panel to uninstall software system.

  We saw a couple of entries doubled installed redistribution files.

  It seems that reinstall adds an additional instance to your Windows System.

  So we have uninstalled the 2 not needed to proceedings

  A reboot and it works.

  If you do not have a prompt CTRL-M, of two things happening: 1) you have not installed hardware RAID to activate the controller RAID PERC 4e/Di (keys, battery, memory), or 2) RAID is not enabled in the BIOS.

  If you have hardware RAID, go in the Setup of BIOS (F2), on-board devices and set the onboard RAID RAID Enabled.

  You MUST first configure RAID before all disks will be presented to the operating system for installation.

  The device driver missing "CD/DVD' is because your installation media is corrupt.  Try different media, by downloading again, using a download manager to ensure the integrity of the files, check the hash, burning the ISO to a different rhythm, and/or using different software or hardware.

  THEN you need the drivers for the PERC 2008R2 in order to see the virtual disk created in the CTRL-M.  The drivers do not work now, because you have not enabled PERC, so, basically, the device you are trying to drivers over ot for does not exist.

  Temporarily disable any AntiVirus/Antispyware software.

  Cut the installer on your desktop then click on the Start Menu, click computer, double-click on the C: drive and paste the installler here.  Now try a right click on the installer for your printer, choose 7-Zip and choose Extract the files, and then click Ok.  If the installation program extracts now correctly, follow these steps.  If it does not extract, let me know.

  Disconnect your printer from the PC.  Restart your PC.

  Open the newly extracted folder and double-click the setup application to start the installation (the installation application will probably have the same icon as the original installation software that you downloaded).  Connect the printer to your computer when you are asked.

  If it was a success, re - enable your security software.
