Computer guard freezing - tried everything to fix it
Well, I really hope someone here can help me. I'm really at the end of my rope here. I have a laptop HP with Windows Vista. It generally works well (it's only a little more than a year and a half since I got it), but lately it has been freezing, restarting itself and goes to the Blue Screen of Death.
I've done all the checks that I can. I checked for malware, software software spyware and virus, which came back clean, or with problems that I fixed. I deleted all the latest downloads and updates of Windows. I cleaned the registry, clean disk and defragmented the disk. I did a restore of the system for a month (weeks before the problem started). I didn't get the blue screen or auto restart since yesterday, but it still freezes.
It seems that my only options are either restore to the factory settings (which I'm not entirely sure will work at this point) or take it to Best Buy. I really hope someone here can help as take it to Best Buy is a last resort (I have college classes four days a week I need my laptop for and the last time I took it to Best Buy, they had two weeks).
Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same problem with my old Toshiba laptop. My phone kept freezing when virus scanning or opening of some programs, I have to cut the power and opening upward once again, it would be several times a blue screen and then start, and then freeze again.
It turns out it is a HARD drive damaged to move the laptop or bump. Simply, I ran a full disk check and make it possible to correct problems with the HARD drive.
Now, I have a laptop with a HDD sensor, works excellent, can shake around and it stops just all HARD disk activity until its still pretty.
I hope that helps!

The display freezes randomly. The Windows desktop, on the Web pages and during the games. This problem started when I had Vista and I have improved the thought that the BONE was the problem. It is not the case. I added 2 GB of the thought of RAM I need more to no luck. I have now deleted 1 graphics card and the problem persists. I deleted all software except the OS and the problem persists. When you start Windows in safe mode, that the computer does not freeze.
You are either having a video card driver problem or a ram memory stick problem. I suggest that you check your ram and the settings in the BIOS. Use security settings BIOS for the ram as the auto setting. The Intels i7 have a little problem sometimes with more than one ram Strip and having the highest speed at stake. Check this and get back with me. I have a simple philosophy: just assume everyone is a piece of c.r.a.p. and then be pleasantly surprised if you find someone who is not.

Dv5-1020ed freezes, tried EVERYTHING
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my laptop sound of 2008 so not guaranteed.
It freezes randomly, sometimes at startup (once the operating system is loaded, so no problems in bios)
When I am lucky, like now, I can use it, but it can freeze every moment.
I swapped first RAM memory, which has not healed, I tried another HARD drive, without difference either (I used the low-level format on two of them) I tried different OS, Vista (which is standard with her) and windows 7, but still... it freezes...
It also freezes in safe mode.
ID makes me crazy because I need it for school.,.
I hope that everyone is familiar with this problem and could help me.
Thank you
Vincent

Windows XP, Service Pack 3, all latest updates made. Scanned for viruses and malware, ran CCleaner. Defragmented HD reset Firefox, uninstalled firefox & reinstalled. The only thing I didn't do is throw my user profile. I exported my bookmarks to an HTML file, so I can restore. Which will work?
It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission get full and unrestricted, access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.
See:
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.
See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

The number of update: KB2600217
KB2487367, KB2468871, KB2656351, KB2533523.
I'd appreciate any help possible as I have tried everything I can find to sort except turning off update notifications, and I don't want to do that.
These updates are all for net framework 4, some are recommended, but some are significant (this is what he said in any case) do I need net framework 4 on my PC? Because I can remove it if necessary?
Thank you
In many cases repair .NET Framework 4 is sufficient to correct the corruption but in some cases, uninstall and reinstall .NET Framework 4
(Ref: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982)
Windows 7 and Windows Vista users follow these steps to repair the installation of .NET Framework 4:
- Close all running applications.
- Click Start, type Uninstall in the Start Search box, and then click uninstall a program.
- Double-click Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile.
- Select repair .NET Framework 4 Client Profile to its original state , and then click Next.
- Repairs completed, click Finish.
- Click restart now to restart your computer.
- Install the latest Windows updates by clicking the Start button, type Windows Update in the Search box, and then click on Windows Update.

Hi Happyrockgeek,
Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!
This problem occurs if the Windows security .dll files are incorrectly registered.
To resolve this problem, you can perform the two methods of troubleshooting, check if the problem is resolved.
Method 1:
Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations. For more information about how to download and run the Checksur.exe tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/947821
2. try to install the updates again.
Methods 2.
Reset the Windows Update components.
1. to reset the Windows Update components automatically, click the fix button in the link below.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058
2. click run in the file download dialog box and follow the steps described in the fix it Wizard.I also suggest you to install the latest version of Windows Installer 4.5.
Follow the link below to download:
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
and you can also try to install after you turn off the firewall.
It will be useful.

I have 20 windows updates failed on my new computer with code 80072EFD and tried everything I know. Its still new with few programs on it so I could do another full system restore if I have to. I also have a free windows 7 for this computer that is always on its way. If I fix this now I will do all that again?
WallyYou may encounter temporary connection related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/836941Windows Update error 80072efd
http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/93b6ab71-8B21-4B50-B40E-abb80eba29271033.mspxI guess you're running Vista.
As for your 2nd question about the updates of Windows - Win 7 If you run Norton, you might have a problem. It can accept updates for Vista, but when you upgrade to Windows 7 it does not updates allow.

Anyone know how to solve my problem? I can't import my photos from Iphone to computer. Sign says: Photos in the camera cannot be imported because the IPhone is locked with a password or read. My phone is unlocked. I tried everything, every single idea. Without success! Any other idea?
For example, you specify that the device does not display the lock screen, correct? Do you use Touch IDS? If so, try to put your finger on the device to see if it's what he wants.
See you soon,.

Windows XP SP3 has ceased to recognize a USB flash drive and card reader that he always acknowledged in the past. I tried to use Fix - It to correct the problem. Fix - It is then asked to restart the computer. When the computer is restarted, it would not load. After waiting almost two hours, I restarted with the last good configuration. Then reloaded, it took nearly an hour. Before using the Fix - It, the computer was loading in less than five minutes after a reboot. There a lot of things on it. What can I do now to solve the problem posed by Fix - It and also correct the problem with XP recognizes does not flash drives?
