  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  I just bought a desktop computer and put up my car, it consists of a z - 87 asus mother board I just bought with 32 GB Patriot memory, processor intel i7 and when I install windows and get to the point where it asks me to put in the name of the computer, and as soon as I hit next will be the remote computer.

  If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  Reduce the amount of RAM installed on a single key and proceed with the installation of Windows 7. If the installation is successful, you can reinstall after the extra RAM.

  Also, if you have more than one attached internal storage device, disconnect all but the target device where Windows 7 is installed.

  3. You have security software installed on the computer?
  4. Have you performed an installation clean Windows XP and even after that this problem exists?

  Method 1

  As the computer starts up fine in safe mode there is a possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.

  I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

More likely you would not have received installation media with the system and recovery partition conatins the image of the operating system, you can use if you want to reinstall the operating system.

  If you do not have the installation media and you have not created an either, it's only the recovery partition you can reinstall the operating system.

  Notification of "unread mail" on the Windows Home screen reflects information from several e-mail applications that can be installed on your computer, including at least, Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird's.  Other messaging applications can also contribute to the total.

  If you click on the link, you are supposed to see what e-mail client has how many messages, but I have never actually confirmed this feature.

  You can completely disable this notification.  The link above the article explains how to change the registry, but the easiest is to download TweakUI for Windows XP.  For some reason, the Microsoft download link for this seems to be non-functional now, but you can get it here--> http://download.cnet.com/Tweak-UI/3000-2072_4-10002117.html

  When I bought this pc, it is Windows 8. I've updated my pc to the latest version 8.1 of windows. After the first update SimplePass stopped working on all browsers except Internet Explorer. They said that SimplePass is designed to work only with Internet Explorer. Other browsers may work or not. It is very good. According to his (Agent HP) SimplePass still works.

  But after the SimplePass update stopped working completely except the login screen. I click on the icon SimplePass... no answer... I slip on the fingerprint reader... nothing happens. But the computer only works on the windows login screen. Below is my current pc info. I think that HP must update SimplePass.

  I remove the hard drive and attach it to your desktop and use the host operating system to run a check disk on your drive.  The laptop goes hard disk looking for instructions to start and he does not see the correct code.  This is probably due to a damaged boot sector.  Another idea is that your bios has changed and you have changed the SATA from AHCI to IDE type somehow or vice versa. You also left a non bootable disk in the DVD/CD drive.  Remove all disks from your DVD.
