Computer license scam?

We have just received a phone call from people claiming to be microsoft certified partners on a "off computer windows license guarantee" and would like to know if it's a scam because I was directed to a site known as micro solve (easy to find on google), sending an e-mail with the screen name Roy Watson (I think that was the name) and told me to get all my data including the card details I do not oppose, but would like to know whether or not it's a scam?

Fake phone calls to technical support

Such unsolicited telephone calls are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

Please see:

Microsoft does ever not requested for telephone calls of support or security.

  • Can the License Manager load the computer license first, instead of the license based on users?

We have several machines in the lab with licenses computerized on them and a number of technicians who have licenses based on users. When he signed from time to time as themselves, instead of the generic service account, a technician of the License Manager fits on the machine their user account. Not a problem until they're trying to connect to their own PC again LabVIEW and they get the trial of 14 days notice period.

Is there a way the License Manager looking for the license to the computer first instead of the user license?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hey Joe,

In the license file on the license server, you may be able to manually change the tag "sort" in the file to change the order in which VLM withdraws licenses. Licenses are checked in descending (2, then 3, then 4, etc.). As a general rule, your license file is set up in a default order, but in special cases like this, it may be advantageous to change the order. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open the license file with a text editor (such as Notepad)

    2. search for the tag "flows out". For example, the entry "VLM_Core" will sort tag value will appear as "sort = first". Do not change this value. VLM_Core must always be the first.

    3. change the value of sorting tag for the license to the computer named to a value less than the value of sorting tag for the named user license. (for example 'sort = 2"for named computer and 'sort = 3" to the named user).

4 save the file and reinstall the license.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Computer phone scam?

I received a phone call from a person claiming to be with Microsoft, saying that they have detected the malware on my computer.  They led me run some diagnostics, Event Viewer, which showed more than 2,000 error and warning messages, and another page that shows the various functions of Microsoft Works does not.  Then they directed me to a site called Ammyy to give them a connection to my computer remotely and allow them to delete the malware.  It seems not legitimate, so I hung up.  This is - possbily a call legitimate Microsoft or obviously a scam?  If a scam, what is the significance of all these error and warning messages?  Thanks for any help on this.

  • Callers claiming to have your computer license IDs

I received a call from a person of East Indian sounding of a 'private' caller ID number stating that my computer was sending their SSL certificates and that they wanted to check my security.  They gave me a long number claiming was my PC security ID and asked me to turn on my computer and check, I copied the number then hung up on them.  Then, I turned on my computer (and turned off wifi internet) to see if they had the correct security ID which I could not find so I never checked) I'm sure it's a scam but I'm worried because they had a security identification number and I turned on my computer after the call (they also knew my family name when they called) should I worry about this or is it ok because I don't give the information?

  • The Windows performance team call stated that I have error on my computer a scam?

Someone called me from a phone number not identified, he said he has worked to run Windows and my computer was sending messages to them. He said that my computer is damaged. He had a very thick accent. When I asked why he was calling from an unidentified phone number would not answer that question. I hung up after asking him to give me more information about who he was and the evidence that he was who he was because he wouldn't give me an answer that makes sense. Was it legitimate?

    Hello Donna1656,

Microsoft has none of the unsolicited telephone calls about your computer sending errors.
This call was a scam and it's good that you did not continue with the call.

  • Limitation of Clarification - two computer license

This a question relating to the limitation of two computers per license.

If I install only Photopshop on a single computer and only Indesign on a second computer.

will this max on my plants? Or, I'll be able to install Illustrator on a third computer?

    Thank you

    Hello

Regardless of how many products you have installed on both computers, the number of activations remaining always the same for your subscription.

Therefore, the same concept of license follows here. You would be able to use it on two computers, in order to to use on a third party, you should disable this feature on one of the first two.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 license scam

    Hello

We bought a license of Photoshop CS6 through society Computacenter (France). When you try to install, a problem with the license appears as on the screne next:

    Capture d’écran 2015-06-02 à 10.18.40.png

The company that sold the product is not fair as they continue to ask to be paid even and tell us to go chatting to Adobe to fix the problem:

    Capture d’écran 2015-06-02 à 10.43.04.png

Why is the key, we bought for invalid mac (I double checked the entered numbers)? Has anyone heard Computacenter as a society not worthy of trust?

    Best regards

You say you bought Photoshop CS6.

The screenshot says Creative Suite 6 Design Standard.

If you bought the stand-alone version of Photoshop CS6 then you must download the stand-alone version of Photoshop CS6 and enter your serial number CS6. If a serial number now, then you must download the installer of the Suite.

A standalone serial number is not valid for a Suite and a serial number on is not valid for a stand-alone product.

  • How can I use my portable Adobe CS5 on my new computer license

    Hello

I bought Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard (student and teacher edition) when I started studying, but I have installed in the PC no longer works. My new laptop is a macbook, so how do I use my subscription on this laptop? I tried to download the CS5 Design Standard of the Adobe Web site, but it does not accept my product key, saying "this serial number is not valid for this product". So, what should I do? I am still a student so I can't afford to update for cc, but I need very expensive Adobe products for my thesis.

    Kind regards

    Katariina

If your student permit is a Mac version, then you should be able to download CS5.5 and activate it with your serial number.  Your serial number does not work for another version, so try to get the work of CS5 will not get anywhere.  CS5 and CS5.5 are two quite different versions (5.5 should have been 6)

  • If I uninstall and reinstall illustrator on the same computer laptop which affects the thing "license 2" as I will have downloaded the software twice... but on the same machine.

I have been using the two ad Ps Ai, downloaded from CC for awhile now and it worked perfectly. Now Illustrator began to plant every time opening a doc. I want to see if the uninstall and reinstall will fix this, but I'm afraid that this will affect the 2 computer license agreement that comes with the CC that I need to download iton another machine at a later date.

    Thank you

Log in via the main Office Manager, not the individual applications, in order to uninstall then reinstall individual applications should not affect the 2 connection limit unless you uninstall both Office Manager.  If you uninstall the Desktop Manager then you should log out before doing so.
