  • Evo 500: how easily Flash of the bios on the computer

I have trouble understanding how to Flash the bios of the computer, I put up.  Can someone give me a step by step method how?

Let me offer you some general tips to make the updates to the BIOS...

Caution: an upgrade of BIOS defective or broken, unlike an upgrade of the driver, can leave your PC in an unusable state - essentially, turning it into a "brick" electrick

Thus, before any update of the BIOS, ensure that the following TWO are met:
    (1) you have a way to save on the current BIOS of some media that allows you then to restore it, if necessary
    (2) you have a way to boot the PC so that you can restore the BIOS since the recorded media, in which case the BIOS update fails or trashes otherwise your PC

So, as long as the application of updated BIOS provides you with a way to do both 1 and 2), then flashing the BIOS is safe, because if the PC are lost, you will be able to rely on 2) to restore the original, working, BIOS.

In addition, if you do this on a laptop, at least have the power adapter is plugged when you do that.  Not sure how many people try this on battery power that have the battery before the upgrade flash is done!

    Good luck

The problem is that your system cannot properly read your BIOS SLIC table - maybe it's a minor problem, or it is possible you have a counterfeit installation.

Please try first to re-create the license store.

    Re-create the license store

Go to start > all programs > Accessories

Right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator - accept the UAC prompt

Run the following commands in the command prompt window, press enter at the end of each

    net stop sppsvc

(expect that the service is stopped before entering the following lines)

    CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

    Tokens.bar tokens.dat REN

    net start sppsvc

    slui.exe

After a few seconds, the Windows Activation dialog box appears.

You may need to reactivate and/or re - enter your product key or Activation can occur automatically.

  • How can I check the BIOS of the computer?

I read somewhere that I can check if it is enabled in the BIOS settings? How can I do this?
I have the Satellite Pro A200.

If you want to enter the BIOS settings just follow what is written on the screen when you start your laptop. In the lower part of the screen, you will see every task with something like press F2 to enter SETUP.

    That s it!

  • Can't access BIOS on the computer laptop 15-R030wm

I have a laptop that was recently dropped, and since then, I found that the hard drive has been damaged during the process.

I bought a new hard drive and installed the drive and I wanted to get into the bios so that I can change the device to boot to a USB key... but I can't get into the BIOS.

I tried the tapping/now the key ESC, F1, F2, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12 to turn all this without success. I have tried removeing the battery and the charger to the laptop and now the power button down for 30 seconds. Still no luck.

    The system starts just a screen that says;

Not found boot device. Please install an operating system on your hard drive. Hard drive (3F0).

    Anyone have any ideas?

Well then... I'll answer my own question.

  • What is the number of keyboard for Portege Z30-A-1E5 part?

    Hello
I want the Toshiba Portege Z30 A 1E5, but is apparently available for purchase of the German and Austrian sellers with the QWERTZ keyboard. I would like to buy an and Exchange on the keyboard AZERTY or QWERTY (UK).

However, I spoke with a company that and they can't confirm that they can get a part unless I can provide a reference number of keyboard (they also cannot give me a quote without it), but this number does not seem to be easy to get their hands on without actually having the computer and take off the keyboard and research under! I feel a little nervous about spending so much money when there's a chance that I won't be able to reverse the keyboard.

So my question is, can someone tell me what the part number of the keyboard is for the a-z30-1e5 portege?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Kate

    Hi, Kate

I m wondering why you want to buy a Portege Z30-A-1E5 that isn't available in the United Kingdom?
The notebooks are pre-installed with a Windows system in different languages. In the case of Portege Z30-A-1E5 available in Germany, the system language would be German.
The keyboard also supports a different layout.

Portege Z30-A-1E5 was equipped with a processor i7, SSD 512 GB and 16 GB of RAM disk.
Very similar Portege laptop, Z30 - has - 1 6 was released in the United Kingdom. Its preinstalled with the Windows system in the English language and English keyboard layout.
Of course, the hardware specs are a little bit lower (256 GB SSD drive and 8 GB of RAM) but I think that this could be improved is much easier to replace the keyboard.

However, where you can buy the Portege Z30-A-1E5, I recommend contacting the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for replacement keyboard. Guys could control the keyboard of Toshiba law and could perform the replacement.

Just a note: the replacement must be performed by service provider authorized because of the validity of the guarantee. The replacement must be performed by an approved engineer to keep the warranty valid.

He really noisy fan, I was forced to use battery saving mode, without which I can't work on this machine.

The fan speed is absurdly designed.
There are a lot more speed, even when it does not heat.

Please make a new bios with the smart fan speed, then it will be the best phone on the market!

    Thanks in advance.

Sometimes the fan activity would increase where the processor is loaded by some background process.
I've had the laptop from another manufacturer and the fan speed was high due process that runs in the background. From time to time the process has locked the CPU (up to 80%-90% of CPU usage) and during this time, the speed of the fan was very high.

I spend a lot of time to learn about this process, and finally, I discovered that my antivirus software (it was Norton) the CPU load. I switched to Avira and Avast and this question doesn't seem anymore.

However, I guess that the CPU could be occupied as a result of any background process

By the way: you're right: BIOS contains fan table and this table fan gives indications how to control cooling modules. But the fan activity depends not only on the BIOS as I said above: background as well as the CPU processes affect the speed of the fan.

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Portege Z30 - B?

    Hi all

I updated the BIOS on my laptop Z30-B-119, and it is much worse than the original BIOS, so I want to downgrade it.
There is no way to save the original BIOS during the update and the previous BIOS is not available on the site.

Someone has the original BIOS and knows how to extract?

Maybe someone knows how to contact Toshiba technical team directly? (Don't see what they have implemented in new BIOS, I have no hope they read on this forum or user opinions).

If you're wondering why I want to downgrade and what's wrong with him, see below for an explanation.

I was convinced that the new BIOS might resolve the problem with the fan, which works well too early, but it turned out they made much worse! The fan will now light at 42 °. Seized 50 °, which was already a Toshiba engineers stupid choice, provided that the side of the CPU temperature is 105 °, so that they could keep the laptop quiet at least until 60 °, especially as many people's complaint of the fan in this model. Instead, Toshiba has done the opposite and lowered the temperature even more.

How foolish choice their engineers do, I will never buy another Toshiba and will not recommend anyone buy their products. But since I have already made the mistake one bought a Toshiba laptop, I hope that I will be able to downgrade the BIOS or contact them to request an update.

Let me know if you know how to do it.

    Toshiba Portege Z30-B-119 PT253E - 01100XPL
This European model belongs to the PT253E series

The Portege Z3x - B PT253U (same model) was released in the United States and it supports the same BIOS

The BIOS for the PT253U is compatible withE -PT253 and can be downloaded here:

  • Portege Z30 wasted the time of BIOS

I have the latest version of the BIOS (3.7, 1.40). I update the time of BIOS, press 'OK' and then F10 and then 'Yes', restart the computer and the operating system time is correct. But as I soon, stop the computer, the time information are lost again (alwas 2 hours late, I think that default GMT).

The computer is new and all the other BIOS configuration are saved correctly.

    Any idea?

Try Please charge the battery completely RTC. Turn on your laptop and let it at least 24 hours.
RTC battery will be charged when the laptop is turned on, connected to the power supply and battery must be fully charged (100%).

  • Fingerprints on the Portege Z30-A-12 q utility does not work

    Hello

I need help with this issue:

I have installed fresh windows 8.1, the same version as before, but this time I chose UEFI on BIOS. When I used the BIOS the fingerprint sensor was working fine, but now it says "unable to connect to the probe.

I use Toshiba Portege Z30-A-12 q i5-4200 256 GB SSD, or PT243E model. I've searched the forums and found a similar problem with another Toshiba R product that was resolved by adding an exception to the firewall.

Utility of fingerprinting with the exception of firewall, even disabled firewall all the way, but always the same problem, I added. In Device Manager, I have biometric sensors (WBF) (PID = 0010) validity under devices.

I also checked in the BIOS to see if it it turned on and it is.
The only thing I changed in the BIOS are Secureboot (is on) and has chosen CSM (UEFI), but I think that these settings are not relevant to the problem because they are used for starting.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver 3 times.

Please help me with this problem.
    Thank you very much
    Andrei Colombi

UEFI / start MSC mode has no influence on the fingerprint sensor.

You said you did a clean install of 8.1 to win.
I guess that the problem is related to the driver missing or utility.
I guess you do not have all the essential software available on the Toshiba UE driver page.

System driver Toshiba to win 8.1 must be installed. It is very important driver package.

But also try to register fingerprints first in the Windows settings.
Go to the control panel? Audio equipment &? Biometric devices
To the left, click Change biometric parameters
Now, you will see two options: WE (marked) biometrics and biometric OFF (unmarked)
Now, go to biometric OFF and save changes
Now go back and click on settings again biometric change
Now return to the biometrics IT and save the changes.

Now, you have to click on use your fingerprints with Windows and register fingerprints.

I think it might be useful to get the utility of fingerprinting works again.

  • New Bios for Portege Z30 - has Changelog

    Hello
If someone has tested the new bios (4.20 - WIN (ECB1.40)) for the Toshiba Portege Z30 - A or is it an official change log?
Toshiba did not alter the fan behavior? The fan isn't fort/boring, but he could kick a little later.

    Concerning

Someone has already installed the new bios?

  • Password locked Portege Z30-A-10Z - necessary BIOS.

Someone at - it backup the bios of your laptop Portege Z30-A-10Z.

My laptop bios locked me by password and need to program a new bios with new bios chip.

I can't prove ownership with Toshiba with the original receipt so that they will not help as I bought it on ebay a wile back and the seller is is most homologous :(

This is very stupid situation now. If your laptop is locked by word password BIOS you have big problem now and nobody here can help you. BIOS password needs to be eliminated by the authorized service provider.
BIOS password is a function of security very important for any problem with machine locked should be handled by ASP. There are several different methods for BIOS password removal and it has nothing to do with the backup BIOS or some sort of new BIOS Setup.
