Computer sleeps in 10 to 20 seconds.

My Toshiba laptop (connected) can accommodate 10 to 20 seconds in any program. Poke the mouse and the screen comes back. My operating system is Windows 7 and I have checked the settings sleep and hybernation and they are 10 or 15 minutes.

Try to change the settings for sleep and hybernation a longer period of time and see if the change of glue (for instance 1 hour = 60 minutes).

If it works then shorten the time slighlly and test again. Repeat until you have moments where you want.

    Hi Phil.Ganchev,

Using a laptop or a desktop computer?

The reason for this question is, if you have a plugged AC adapter you must set power accordingly as opposed to laptop settings battery operated.

I suggest you head over to the power settings and create your own power management.

    a. power by clicking on the Start button, open the Options click on the Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.

    (b) according to the plan you want to change, click on change plan settings.

    c. on the parameters of change in the plan page, choose "Put the computer to sleep" that you want to use when your computer is running on battery (if applicable) and when it is plugged.

  • After the release of sleep I get a message saying: "your computer is currently locked" after 30 seconds.

original title: disorders to restart the PC after the mode "Eve"

I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium installed. I feel in pretty serious trouble when I try to turn on the PC again after putting in mode 'sleep' (or after it is disabled due to low battery). The sequence of events following the bifurcation is as follows:

    1. I turn the PC back on.
    2. a message appears on the screen after about 30 seconds saying 'your computer is currently locked' and there nothing else do.
    3. impossible to do anything else, I force close to the PC.
    4. I turn it back on and start the PC in "safe" as mode indicated in the display.
    5. when the process is complete, I complete the secure mode by turning off the PC.
    6. I turn the PC back on. It asks me to enter the password, and the rest comes on as it should.

So I can go back to normal after this 6-step process is completed, which is quite annoying and refused to Office 2007 as scary because even this process did not work last week that my PC has become impossible to connect to the wireless network at home, at work, etc and I was able to use my PC again only after a system recovery which was a nice surprise for me.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards

    Dear James,

Thank you for that comprehensive answer. I apologize for my answer, that I was busy with other things and forgot this issue for now. First of all, 1Utilisez mode"still works and that's how I'm going to return to normal operation again. It does not eliminate the problem, however. I have not yet tried the methods mentioned by you. However, I did something else as follows:
    1. I removed the password from my account (I am the administrator)
    2. I left my laptop to turn off because of low battery
    3. I restarted the laptop

And I managed to find a normal operation. I intend to use my laptop without password, I don't want to face the same problem again. (I guess that the problem will resurface if I started using a password again.)

In both instances separated last week, I noticed also that my computer started a validation file of three steps and the process of compacting the files immediately after I put on. They went well. I'm not sure, however, they were of no help to solve the problem. My feeling is that they were not.

    Thanks again for your time.

    Kind regards

  • Can not get my computer "Sleep" more (Windows 7 Home Premium - 32-bit)

It seems it's going in mode 'sleep' he has in the past, but after 3 or 4 seconds, I hear the fan surge to life (as it sounds when first activate you it using the power button) and I'm now using full power. I did not install anything differently EXCEPT a new graphics about two weeks ago. The card has its own fan attached, but there is no sound I would say. The 'surge' fan I hear the ol fan ' ordinary which is original equipment. But since I noticed the problem of "lack of sleep" around the same time installing the card, I can't help thinking that there is a relationship.

(Also, I put to upgrade Vista to 7 a few months ago, and sleep (and everything else) has worked very well until this recent glitch.)
So, is it some sort of setting I should be check or change or something? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

  • Log on screen is displayed when the computer sleeps or battery operated

I have a HP Elitebook 8470P running Windows 7 Pro. She put does not demand connection password. That works fine as long as I turned off the laptop and it starts the next time I use it. However, if I put the computer to sleep or unplug it, then run it on battery I get the login screens. It shows my administrative username and said that the account is locked. • HP Envy D410a computer sleep and offline wireless OSX problem

    Hello

I'm new but I searched on this forum as well as the apple support forum to get answers.  The problem, I tried to correct is limited to the Wireless business.   I'm under 10.6.7 OSX and Windows 7 64-bit.  Now I can constantly reproduce the problem of the printer goes offline on a Mac, but the D410a works perfectly with Windows 7 64 bit.  I can stop the windows computer or put it to sleep and to restore power or he wake D410a functions perfectly.

When I put my Mac to sleep then wake him up, I lose the connection to the D410a.  Specifically, I'm trying to print or scan him unsuccessfully using "Preview", the HP Scan 3 utility, as well as the location of Print & Fax that allows you access to the parser.  Try several suggestions throughout these forums, I was able to partially address the problem. I read on the issue of the "Energy Saving" being a problem feature.  I tried power saving setting in the options "after 5 minutes of inactivity" and "after 15 minutes of inactivity'.  But the problem seems to come from the Mac.

I put my IP on the D410a address to an IP address outside DHCP (static IP).   I fiddled with the configuration of the router, ensure that the printer signal is strong, or that the router is to remember its location.  I played a bit with port forwarding, (don't know what I was really doing). I have checked the firewall settings on the Mac, and they turned off the coast.

Now as I said earlier, the only way I can get the D410a to respond to any request of Mac such as printing or scanning wireless. is either entering in my router (Dlink DIR - 655-cutting) and make some changes and save the settings.  I guess that's somehow resets the D410a and becomes available on my Mac.  The other way I can 'Reset printer' is on the print server and playing with a few features.  Specifically, I changed the gateway to 0.0.0.0 and the printer printed what was on the qeue.  After having put the Mac to sleep he lost the connection.  I changed the gateway to 192.168.2.1 and the printer and the scanner have been "reset".  Finally, it loses the connection to the Mac.

Please, help me with smoothing this mess.  I like to use Windows, but there are things on my Mac that require the use of the D410a.  Have work would improve my workflow.  I just got this printer today and I'd rather not go through the hassle to return because I bought this printer for its quality of size and compact construction.

... I forgot to mention that I tried to completely reinstall the software.  I also tried an installation of the drivers in a specific order.  1 uninstall the HP drivers > restart Mac > add printer drivers and install Apple HP > download full HP drivers from the website and install.

Check if your router multicast/IGMP proxy and transmission to enable them if they are not. They mess with re-discovery service of HP I think.

    Hello

What the popup say or lead?

Search for malware, and then run the cleaning as described below.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running

    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
