Computer slow windows 7
Okay, so my mom has a Dell laptop that is a few years old. I think that it runs Windows 7. It is completely messed up, and she asked me to fix it. It was slow for a while, but then it got worse. Now when it starts up, it goes to the desktop computer, but the keyboard does not work and no program opens, not even the start menu. The mouse moves freely and without skipping or freezing, although clicking on seems to do nothing. I started in safe mode and found a glimmer of hope, it seems to do something, but it takes FOREVER. More seriously, there was on average 2 to 5 minutes for each click to register, but still, the mouse moves with fluidity.
The thing is full of games of young children, and it is likely that she deleted game files to clean space without uninstalling the program. In addition, she suspects some sort of virus visit Megashare and all others for free movies and free games sites. There is no backup, and there all sorts of things out there that she does not want to lose, so I can't just wipe - yet. That may happen eventually, but I want to at least get functional enough to recover some files.
-I started it in safe mode, I tried to connect a flash drive, but it does not recognize, "cannot download driver" or something to that effect. The flash drive is clean, it shouldn't be the problem. Is it because it is in safe mode, or is there something else?
-J' ran disk cleanup and got rid of more than 15 GB of things. In my opinion, which is already helping. Perhaps. A little. She told me that she had already run a defragmentation and disk cleanup, but I guess she must not have checked the important in disk cleanup boxes if there wasn't that much to clean when I ran.
-J' have Avast! facing up and running. I do a quick scan now, he has not yet found anything, but it seems that it will probably be some time before he finishes. It would be running a full scan and let go of the day to the next?
-What is the most direct route to speed up performance? I do not expect that it works like new again, but it takes so LONG to do something, I don't want to waste my time doing things that won't help. Literally, it took 45 minutes to start and run Disk Cleanup.
-Don't you think it is possible to get it working again without reinstalling windows? She cannot find the boot disk, but I could probably find someone to lend me one if it comes down to it.
Thank you!!

After starting my computer to Windows 7 Enterprise, I noticed that it runs very slowly. for example, the scrolling of a window of firefox crashes every 10 seconds or more. The gel lasts between 2 and 10 seconds with the little blue wheel, spinning, (not answer) in the toolbar.
I pulled the top of resource monitor and to see that 4 PID - C:\System Volume Information\ {guid} {guid} is running non-stop with about 720ko read by writing dry and 6 MB per second Disk 0 length of the queue is pegged at 5. from time to time (once every 10 to 15 minutes), the queue goes to 0 and the computer starts acting normally (i.e. fast) again. But once the length of the queue points to 5, the problems continue.
I am running in raid 5.
I noticed that vssvc.exe is running (PID 4144) with a reference to c:\System Volume Information and the same GUID as PID 4 - system and kernel.
Any idea what I can do to get back on my computer? At this point, it is absolutely unusable.
Thank you

Computer slowed down after updates
A home computer using Vista premium with current updates began to slow down about 30 days ago. After a normal start (about one minute) to power, the system seems to stop. No CPU activity and a bit of disk activity. Sometimes, keyboard and mouse die requiring a re - start. Problem seems to go away after about 30 to 50 minutes of no apparent activity. I suspect the hard drive, but could be motherboard controller or (I hope) a software setting.
MalwareBytes no problem after full search.

I look through the posts and have not found someone who had my same problem still. I hope someone can help me. A few weeks ago, I bought a new gateway laptop and it has Windows 7. It works great until a few days ago. Day before yesterday, I tried to open Internet Explorer 8 and I just got a white screen with the border of IE, but it did not open a page or anything like that. I opened the Task Manager and allows to close the IE. I had that happen in the past (in XP) when I tried to open internet until the computer is carried out all the stuff at the start of the loading. Thinking that was the problem, I tried to open IE again. This time I just got the little thing of circle of rotation for a few seconds, as he was trying to do something, but nothing happened. I then tried to restart the computer. He says "disconnect" for a few minutes, then "shutting down" for about half an hour until I finally pressed right on the power button to turn it off. I have it turned on and had the same problem again. I even tried to open another program (Word) to see if it would work. Finally opened, it was ridiculously slow. I checked the process and it is said there are CPU usage 0. However, he acts like something using all the memory. My next step was to remove the battery. I took it out for a few minutes, restarted in safe mode, and the computer works perfectly. I then restarted it regularly. It seemed to work fine. I opened Word again and she appeared right as usual. So then I tried to open internet. I had the same problem as before, and then the computer slowed to a crawl and would not shut down. Thinking maybe it was just IE, I rebooted in safe mode with network and my internet works perfectly. I downloaded Firefox (in safe mode), perhaps hoping it would work. But when I rebooted, I always had the same problem. Everything worked fine when I got it in safe mode, even on the internet. If someone has had this problem before, please help! I just bought the computer a few weeks ago and it's very frustrating.
Hi tonirose19
· As the problem does not occur in safe mode, try to start the computer to the boot in order to check if any third-party application is causing the problem. To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Steps to perform the clean boot and check if you have the problem.
i. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
II. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
III. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
IV. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.
v. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.
VI. click OK.
VII. When you are prompted, click restart.
VIII. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.
If the problem is resolved check what third party causing the problem, referring to the link given below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
i. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
II. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
III. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.
IV. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

I am hving wrong when I try to sync (Tungsten E2) to my computer. My computer has Windows 7. Anyone know a solution for this problem?
Probably, the problem is that you have a 64-bit version of Win7.
At the top of the list of the messages in this section, you will find a title "64-bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop."
Please read this post and follow the directions to install the drivers of the company Aceeca.
