Computing and games freezes

I have a problem with my new installation of windows 7 where I guess he thinks I would RAID. I get this error: Reset device, \Device\RaidPort0, has been published. It causes my games and computer to freeze. It is completely random and the time it is frozen is random. I have 2 hard drives in my computer. But they are not implemented in raid. One is OS and the other is a backup of the files. I checked the bios and flashed to the latest version. I can't seem to stop any help would be good.

Your image Resource Monitor shows the problem that I had in mind. Your system is holding to the memory of the night before and it releases is not memory free . You can force the release by restarting your computer, but often it is not very practical. Another way to force the release of standby memory is available using the RAM (freeware from Microsoft) card:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Sysinternals/ff700229.aspx

Download and install and create a shortcut on your desktop for RAMMap and / or PIN to the taskbar. When you sense the system becomes unresponsive, use Ctrl + Shift + Esc to access the Task Manager. Click the performance tab and the resource monitor button. Click the memory tab and check if free is close to zero, or is equal to zero. If it is, open RAMMap, click on empty on the menu bar and the empty queue. This action restores instantly free memory.

The procedure using RAMMap is an effective workaround, but the real solution lies in the discovery of the source of the problem. Know the source, you may be able to solve the problem by contacting the provider of the software and / or update the software.

The solution lies in the identification of the software which is access to many files, to search for malware or index to facilitate the search of Windows. If you find out which files are accessed unnecessarily you can exclude routine analyses. The first image below illustrates the problem. The second image identifies the folders / files. In the example Microsoft Security Essentials was scan my G drive, which I excluded from future scans.

Investigate what made up the figure of Eve may not be easy. How I discovered what was the cause of this computer has been reached by following the procedure detailed below.

RAMMap open when your Standby figure is too high and click on the file summary tab, click the column heading of Eve to sort the numbers as in the image below to determine the really big held in standby mode files, see the image below. If you click the path heading, you can sort and see what partitions are being accessed. It is important to remember that these files have been consulted since the computer was started. You ask then what program could have access to the file and it really need to? Programs with scheduled scans are potential candidates.

In my case, I found a very large download of Windows 7 that I had used for a repair installation I had not deleted after use. I also found a large number of files on a non-related system partition for backup copies created by Windows backup utility. I decided to see if these have been regularly analyzed by Microsoft Security and them excluded from the analyses. You should also check if you are indexing more than what you need as this will increase the impact of the execution of Windows Search.

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.

  • Computer and programs freeze if left to idle...

So here's my problem. This just started happening about 2 or 3 days ago. I just think after the window is a security update, but I'm not too sure.

I tend to leave my computer idle one or twice a week so it can run antivirus scans and what not, and sometimes I can accidentally leave it on when I leave the room, or something. This is never a problem. However, when I return to more than 10 or 20 minutes later all the programs that are perhaps will not respond. When I click on it I get the "* program name * (not responding)" message on the bar. I thought it was something with norton because my current version of this idle background scans if left alone for 20 minutes. But I turned off the power, and she always does. So I have disabled all programs, waited 20 minutes to touch the computer, tried to open MSN Messenger, and it did not work. This problem sometimes if I close the lid of my laptop and put it to sleep then open and then upwards, nothing works, or the screen is black with just the mouse cursor.

The computer works fine as long as I don't let him inactive for more than 20 minutes, but this problem is annoying, especially when I try to run scans. Is that what I can do other than a system restore?

    Thank you

Here's what I use and recommend:

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.

    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

I had problems with MacKeeper, I loved MacKeeper but then came the renewal notice.

1 the $49.00 then update for $142,00 then another for $149.00 at the point where I was going

to speed up my Mac?  ... any help?

If you have created a Time Machine backup before install and use MacKeeper, follow the instructions under 'All restore' in the following Apple Support document: use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support.

If you have no backup, read below.

    Recovery procedure

Follow these instructions if uninstalling MacKeeper alone does not lead to a usable System.

    • If you have a backup that you created before using MacKeeper, now is the time to use it. To boot OS X RecoveryTime Machine in Mac OS X utility screen, select restore from a Time Machine backup. Choose a date prior to the installation of MacKeeper.
    • If you don't have a backup prior to the use of MacKeeper, create one now. To do this read to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.
      • The recovery procedure require that you erase the Mac using OS X Recovery, and then create a new user account whose content will be empty. You can then use Setup Assistant to migrate your essential documents, including photos, music, products of work and other essential files.
      • To erase and install OS X read How to reinstall OS X on your Mac.
        • Follow the instructions in this document under wipe your drive and install OS X.
        • Then follow the procedure to move your content to a new Mac.
        • When asked how you want to transfer your data, select transfer from a Mac, Time Machine backup or boot disk.
        • Under Select the information to transfer, select only your previous user account and do not select 'Applications', 'Computer and Network Settings' or 'other files and folders. Deselect these choices.
      • After using Setup Assistant, you will need to reinstall the essential software that you might need, once more without forgetting to install the software from their original sources and by omitting all non-essential software.
      • "Non-essential software" is a broad category that includes, but is not limited to the products 'antivirus' third party 'cleaning' and 'maintenance '.

Get a backup full system, like - especially if you use a Mac Pro with 10.6.8 - then your material is more old enough to be at fault.

Once you have a full backup and up-to-date...  More information is needed:

What is the freezing of the entire or just computer screen background image?

Start in Safe Mode and stop and restart normally and see if that clears the problem.

If you have the anti-virus or anti-malware installed or any tool that claim to clean, optimize or protect, delete all those which, according to the instructions from the suppliers of package.

    http://answers.Yahoo.com/question/index?QID=20090823055839AAqZUAs

Jenkat games room can be customized to disable the pop-up window of new games. Simply open the Arcade and click on the 'Settings' tab at the top. Then click on the 'Préférences' tab, and then click to remove control of the 'daily game alerts' box.

If you need to close the Arcade, all you have to do is to find the Jenkat Games Arcade icon in your system tray (the purple cat in the lower right corner of your screen). Right-click on the icon, and then click "Exit". That would end the arcade for you, and you can restart at any time.

    Hi gullo56,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community Forums.

To help you better I would ask,

    a. If it functioned very well under Windows 7 before?

    ·         I suggest you to disable your firewall security software and check if you are able to play the game.

From the link below, what I discovered is Microsoft Flight Simulator 3 is not completely compatible with Windows 7, but I would suggest that you follow the steps below to help troubleshoot your problem.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?type=software&s=combat%20flight%20simulator%203

    1. as Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 is supported by Microsoft Windows Vista to function normally, I suggest you run this program in Vista compatibility mode in Microsoft Windows 7.

For information about how to run a program in an earlier version of Windows, visit the link below,

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

    2. you can also try to reduce the hardware acceleration and check if it solves your problem,

    1. Click Start-> Control Panel-> appearance and personalization.

    2. under customization, click on adjust the screen resolution.

    3. in the display settings dialog box, click the Advanced Settings button.

    4. in the monitor Properties dialog box, click the Troubleshooting tab.

    5. click on the change settings button.

    6. in the Security dialog box, click on continue.

7 move the hardware acceleration slider to none to reduce or turn off video hardware acceleration.

    8. click on OK.

    9. restart Windows.

    Hope this information helped you.

    Hello

My advice is to never let anyone borrow or use your computer

try a restore of the system before this happened

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

If necessary do in safe mode

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.
