• Integration between EBS 12.1.3 and OLIVIER 7.9.6.4

  We are implementing EBS 12.1.3 and OLIVIER 7.9.6.4 (on obiee 11.1.1.7.0) and I'm trying to understand a concept based on the integration of SSO between EBS & OLIVIER:

  -For the integration of SSO between EBS & OBIEE to work, I must explicitly create any user to OBIEE, and then map it to a particular user to EBS? Or is there no need to create any explicit user in OBIEE?

  (I couldn't find it mentioned in the documents of EBS & OLIVIER/OBIEE integration that I talked yet)

  What you say is correct. Add to your points

  the user does not need to be already exist in OBIEE, but you create application roles in similar EM for the responsibilities that you have created in EBS. Now, you would be assign responsibilities to users in EBS for example: financial OBIEE will have users ABC, XYZ, so when you create the same Application roles in the EM as EBS you would be assign these roles to application to SA different regarding the names of responsibility EBS eg: financial OBIEE application roles would be related to SA Financials so when the user clicks on that responsibility in EBS to navigate to OBIEE would use the application role in EM and give the user access to finance SA to form analysis. Similarly, you would be assign created in EM to the catalog application roles to access respective dashboards

• Unable to connect to the repository odi client BIAPPS

  Hello everyone,

  I have 11.1.1.8.1(OBIA OLIVIER + OBIEE + serveur ODI) and ODI Client installed on Computer1 and computer2 My contains ODI Client installed. I was able to access the repository of BIAPPS ODI of the two machines. But suddenly after about 4-5 months, I am unable to access the repository BIAPPS of Machince2 so that I can access it from Computer1. I am getting following error

  I already tried to regenerate the security files (cwallet.sso & jps-config - jse.xml). Also, I installed Client ODI on computer3 (with file Security Configuration), but still, I get the error above when access.

• Basic questions, to debut

  We are looking to install OBIEE 11.1.1.7, ODI and OLIVIER (mainly the part the student information Analaytics/SIA).  I read a lot of documentation, but still problems all reconstruct and hoping someone can help out.

  With regard to the initial Setup, we currently reserved two boxes of Oracle Linux (OL6) for this purpose.  On one, we have installed Oracle 11 GR 2 DB, but from here, I'm a little lost.

  ODI server components should be installed on the DB, with OBIEE Server installed on the secondary server 'app '?

  If so, is - both the DB/ODI WL server as the server app/OBIEE needed?

  For developers to work, they just download and install installing ODI Client and connect to the server components on the server of DB/ODI ODI?

  Edit - I have also been told by another campus implementation of this same project that they ended up installing ODI and OBIEE on a windows instead of linux server because components of ODI are so integrated with the studio ODI they were unable to successfully install Linux - I know this is vague and probably unnecessary, but are there reasons why I should not install on linux?

  Normally in each implementation DB will be separate server and connect to the DB server using client say if you want to install patches on the database...

  Good to have two servers SOFTWARE (OLIVIER/OBIEE Server) and DATABASE (DB server)

  I was facing the same error after installing the patches for (application Mobile Designer) and restarts as all OBIEE components as well as the server,

  nothing worked except the same error 404 for the last two days.

  so, here the path to get the fixed number advances now.

  1: check the patches applied to the Mobile application designer

  2: follow the blog step by step for the process to be completed.

  You can have dates instead of the name of the day, but you must ensure that your definition is very clear in your time dimension i.e. each week week 7 days. You table looks like his week to jump and you have each month as 30.31 or 28 days...

  I have used the concept of AUTHORIZATION in my OBIEE project with the help of the PERMISSION table in the SQL database. Here, in the database table, the records have User ID with the other columns such as name, email, etc. with groupname also.
  
  It does not work properly, but when I do some changes in table of PERMISSION in the database, such as adding new user or changes to an existing user group membership, it do think link dashboard IMMEDIATELY.
  
  For example, user SHYAM is a member of the leading group of the Organization and the Group of vertical head. Thus, he can see the report of the two groups.
  But, if we update its membership in a group to the Group of vertical head only, by removing the belonging to a group responsible for the Organization of data,
  the respective change will not reflect in the dashboard.
  I have to restart the obiee Server services.
  then only, the changes are visible.
  
  Is it possible to disable the CACHE completely...
  
  or at least decrease the persistence of cache for the least time, IE, seconds or completely to zero.

  It only covers things from 7.9.6.4 but you may need to test things on your side on a sandbox environment.

  Have you used a clearly defined naming convention? Are you sure that you have not any conflict RPD, app-roles and web catalog?

  Of course, in theory you can merge your own content into the OLIVE one (don't do the opposite because OLIVIER is probably bigger than your own content and you would have more chance to break OBIA with a debugging complex to solve by report may break your and you will be able to fix it easily).

  Do not expect to do in half an hour, probably need you some time to make and test things.
