  my laptop got the noise this morning, I watched some tv on hulu, and after lunch, he stopped - no speakers, no sound headphones, and it is not cut.

  The Qosmio G15 seems to be the Toshiba U.S. series.
  Go to this page to get all the drivers:

  Download the audio driver. Then uninstall the old audio driver in Device Manager.
  Restart the unit. After that go to Device Manager, mark the sound card (should be the unknown device) and then use the Advanced installation procedure to point to the files of the audio driver (ini files).

• Qosmio G15-AV501 has stopped working

  My Qosmio G15-Av501 has stopped working after only 14 months of service. I was informed by repairers Toshibas that the graphics card has failed and it will require a payment of 512 gbp to fix. Since I have 3 other notebooks of 16 inches that have been in service without problem in my studio of photography for 5 years - I'm obviously not very happy about that - probably a graphics card cannot cost as much in this day and age?

  I have Toshiba Qosmio G15 (Win XP Media Center Edition). I installed Phoenix Recover Pro 6 with success. Now the laptop restarts and after the manufacturer LOGO all I get is ERR: TOS0002

  I m not 100% sure if the laptop supports the RAID or not but most often the boot from the restore CD should work without any problems. As suggested by Reavers, there could be a conflict with the partitions on the HARD disk.
  You should try to format the whole HARD drive and then try to boot from the Toshiba restore CD.

• Qosmio G15-AV501 - cannot recover - MACHINE TROUBLE error

  Hi, im using laptop Qosmio G15-AV501. I decided to do a recovery with discs included.

  Here are my steps:

  1. width launched 1 2 recovery disk. Reported recovery software 'BAD MACHINE'
  2. has tried to launch the tool update DMI, witch, I downloaded from the toshiba web site (my G15-AV501 model was included in the list of supported models!)
  3. DMI updates tool reported that "error - no id of corresponding platform was found."
  4. I started the process of recovery manually with the commands:

  Basic CD
  OS.bat

  Recovery (Ghost) has launched and completed without error. But after Windows XP Recovery displays BSOD without name or error code.

  What can be?

  Without error here, no one can say with certainty what the problem is here.
  If possible, get the facilities for Windows XP Home edition CD and try installing the OS.

  Hi all!

  Like many others I have problem with my go5700 video card on my Toshiba Qosmio G15, too. Unfortunately I can not replace the motherboard in my free country (Bulgaria) and the dealer asked me 500 euros to raplace it. So, I decided to replace the video chip by myself. I know Toshiba replace the chip video go5700 with go6600 but I checked this go6600 chip has the small difference in the order of its PIN on it.

  Do you think I'll have any problem with that? As I know Toshiba replace just the VGA but maybe I'm wrong.
  So advice pleace me, can I replace my defective go5700 with go6600 or best just to buy an another go5700 and wait the next default!

  Thus, it seems that my C drive died on my G15. I managed to recover most of my data and I am always under scans now. However, I don't think that I can trust the machine and bought a new hard drive. Now things are messy to messier.

  Apparently it's quite easy to do a refresh of the system if you have a few CD of restoration that is supposed to come with the machine.
  However the only my laptop recovery CD came with the recovery of Qosmio player is. Not very useful given that I do not use the player in any case.

  So I wonder now what is my best bet? I have been open to trying Linux, or would like to come back to Win 2 K.
  However, it seems that most of the drivers is for Win XP?

  Because I don't have the recovery disc, it seems that I can go there with regular XP Pro. Who's going to be a problem? Also there are tons of drivers on the Toshiba site. Are there best practices for how they all need to go? I came across some threads here that suggests that the drivers must be installed in a very special way. I also noticed that some discussions referred to threads that detail the process of installing XP, but I could not find these discussions.

  I am quite computer literate and know what I'm doing. But I want to get this right on the first attempt, not the 3rd or 4th or 5th etc... I need this machine to turn as soon as possible so I can get back to work. I already spent a week doing the scans in the car and trying to recover the data that I can.

  I got really excited when I discovered there was a recovery of the G15 disc, and I might be able to do a faster refresh than I thought. Then very disappointed when I discovered that I never had one of these recovery discs with my cpu!

The second problem is that power consumption is a little higher and the battery life is not as long as before.

  I think that your laptop uses Nvidia FX5700 128 MB graphics card. If so, please follow the link below to install the driver:

  Before you post, uninstall everything related to Nvidia for your computer

  To install the nvidia 96,85 card, you must do it manually:
