Original title: [Vista] configuration updated 3 of 3, 0% complete.

Hard drive failed on Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista.  HD replaced and reloaded Vista and everything else.  Couple of days later, came across this problem.  Followed instructions of kb949358, done a system restore, seemed to work.  Auto update installed SP2.  Now, I am getting exactly the same error.

  • I loaded the new update for Firefox today and received a message from 'need to reboot to complete the installation'. However, even after restarting several times the update does not load and he always invites me to restart my computer.

The update does not load, and I can't "remove" program to my computer and reload as the same (needs to restart to complete the installation) error message keeps appearing even after several reboots.

Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible.

    • Do not remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Cannot access CF 9 administrator to complete the installation on Windows 7

    Hello

I hope that if anyone can help. I tried to get this to work for days now and online have sought solutions, without success. I recently got a new Dell laptop, running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and install CF 9 64 bit. After that specific instructions following, I found in various places online, I went through the installation process, and at the end, when the screen says to log in CF administrator to complete the installation of the process, I click on the link, my browser turns his wheels for a while, then a white page or an error HTTP 500 Internal Server Error message Depending on the browser used. I'm really starting to pull my hair on this topic, because I can't seem to find anyone else who has had this problem, but I don't know why my system should be anything out of the ordinary. Here is what has been my approach:

    1. start IIS (it's 7.5) and configure it with the ISAPI extensions and IIS metabase and IIS 6 Configuration compatibility under tension; Verify that IIS is working correctly by putting the IIS page using "127.0.0.1".

    2. restart the computer

3 turn off the Windows Firewall and turn off the antivirus software

    4. double-click on the installation file ColdFusion_9_WWE_win64.exe to begin the process of setting up CF 9, using directories by default, etc. indicated during installation

I can't complete the installation process because I can't go to the CF admin; Otherwise, I then also install CF 9.0.1 update.

I went through the installation process now several times (first uninstall CF 9 each time) and we also tried the CF installer using 'Run as Administrator', as well. Nothing makes no difference. If someone saw all what my problem could be, things I should check, etc., I would be so grateful. I've been a user of CF since CF5 and have never had such difficulties to the installation of the program.

    Thank you!

I have the second that, I would also add a minimum size for the heap.

    Replace this jvm argument:

    -Xmx512m

    with this:

    Xms1024m-Xmx1024m

Also, go download the JAVA virtual machine to update here:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/Java/javase/downloads/JDK-6u25-download-346242.html

Get the x 64 version of Windows and install it. Once its installed change the path of the default JVM to the FMV of new 1.6.0_25.

To make this comment on the current path of the JVM in the config file and add a new, so you can change it back like this:

    # Built in 1.6.0_14 duration
    #java.home=C:/ColdFusion9/runtime/jre

    # Java Runtime 1.6.0_25
    Java.Home=C:/Java/JDK1.6.0_25/JRE

Note the # to comment on the path to default java.home. Note also that, even if it is Windows use / slashes in the path to the Java virtual machine.

Adjust the result of path to the directory /jre from around where you installed Java. I recommend the installation off c: in a java directory as if I had

without space just to make this simple (IE avoid c:\Program Files\blah blah\blah...).

Stop see Delete or backup the log files in the /logs directory so that you get the fresh files (easier to read than, but for the last message added) and repeat CF. If it does not start check newspapers, but most likely you got the path in the variable java.home evil. Keep playing with it until you get it right. If it does not start, try to load a cfm page and check the logs for errors and post them here.

  • When you try to reset or uninstall I get a message saying I have to restart to complete the installation of a previous version. Any suggestions?

After downloading v25.0.1, FF has been slow. I tried the reset, but it would give me the message that I have to restart to complete the installation of a previous version. I tried to uninstall, but the version on the list was v 21. I received the same message when you try to uninstall. I want to upgrade to v 25.0.1, but something prevents the process.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Make sure that your security software (antivirus) is not blocking files, preventing Firefox update all files in the Firefox program folder.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.

    • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

  • Windows cannot complete the installation - Toshiba NB250

    Hello

My netbook has been sitting not used and the road for about 6 months.
When I tried to use it the other week he was very slow and kept crashing so I tried to erase the unwanted programs from him but I couldn't.

The netbook kept crashing whenever I tried to uninstall programs and try to do something about this, even open internet explore took about 5 minutes, it's faster on 15, laptop of my father who has a huge 256 MB of ram in it! I gave up and decided to restore it to the factory settings. I found Toshiba HDD recovery option and follow the instructions.

The way in which the process a window pops up saying "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation '. I clicked on OK, all in all I rebooted the machine about 6 times with the same message.

I tried to boot into safe mode and in the 5th test (previous 4 raised the same message) I "cannot start Windows.
A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your windows installation disc, and then restart your computer
    2. choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
    3. click on "repair your computer".
    File: \windows\system32\config\system
    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: Windows could not load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt.

Now, I bought a new USB drive and booted from that. The first time it kept freezing during configure them then wouldn't start at all. The second date he kept freezing and then took more than an hour to load windows. I left it for a few days, came back to him and all I could get is a black screen with a white cursor. I now need the netbook for Monday so try again.

For tests 3 and 4 I run through gentle but end upwards with ' Window3s could not complete the configuration of the system. An attempt to take over the configuration, restart the computer. »
Been several times since both trying without success. Currently looking for a hammer...
There are now two different options for operating system on it, I tried both, but get the same answer at the same time.

Someone has an idea, what happens?
My warranty is I think (is there a way to check?
I don't remember when I bought it! It was last year or the year before) so I don't think I can get any help from anywhere.

    Hello

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. If the recovery image and HARD drive are OK, you should be able to install recovery image and use your neetbook with the factory settings.
When you've got this netbook as a new machine, I assume you didn't create recovery USB support. Can you confirm this?
    > Now, I bought a new USB drive and booted from that.
And what is recorded on this USB key?

I can't say with certainty what the problem, but now you should test original recovery image installation and see what happens. In case the same thing happen over and over again, the problem may be related to the HARD drive.

  • Windows 7 recovery media is unable to complete the installation

I have had a total hard drive on my HP Pavilion DV6-3108EA failure and got the relevant HP recovery media and install a spare drive compatible plug - in this case, it's a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 500 GB solid state of direct replacement for the deceased Samsung 500 GB disk drive. Drive diagnostic confirms that the replacement drive is fully functional without error.

The recovery kit comes with 3 DVDs. tightening of the bolts 1 and 2 are the Windows 7 recovery media and #3 is the recovery of applications and drivers. 1 recovery attempt has done OK, loaded all three DVD but eventually stuck at a screen "loading devices (40%). ", which would not go further even after a night's sleep. Therefore, power off, and...

Attempt 2 is better. I jumped 3 DVD and the construction seems to be almost complete but finally stopped with hearwarming message that "Windows cannot complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer restart the installation"frustrating, I think you'll agree.

Out of curiosity I tried ctrl-alt-del what task manager open nicely and from there I was able to do many things including use setup to reconnect to my wireless router, enter the number of license Win 7 OK and activate windows, get the right keyboard configuration and launch a copy of IE8 with which I am still typing this message.

It seems so I have a PC almost fully functional except that Windows could not complete the installation and if I click the OK button in the offending dialog box, it restarts and returns to the same dialog box. Very frustrating. Oh and there is no button start / menu start so clearly there are always things to be completed.

The recovery media is "System Recovery Kit for portable Pavilion or Presario" (COL35379_631054_031) for which I paid £35,12 and expect to deliver the goods. But it doesn't work. Also remarkable is that the recovery media did not build a D: partition of recovery disk, contrary to what he says. Can anyone help?

It's frustrating. Fortunately, I can also access this forum and this email addressfrom my Android Tablet and check there return from time to time. Really appreciate your ideas and help here.

Either by the way, on a different thread, I read the assertion that HP requires to change a chip on the motherboard when you change a drive. This disc is loaded with tools and Windows software and saving the configuration changes as my wireless network details I don't buy that one. Thanks for reading this far.

Hoping for wise leaders to help me move forward.

    With regard to Al

So close and yet so far.

But I would like to clear one thing up to HP support were excellent - good focus on my ideas of the problem and a commitment to see it through.  No worries about to buy me the hot spare elsewhere.  Problem still not solved, but I'm more forward with other ideas to pursue.  I was told to reset the BIOS date to 2012 (don't know what difference that would make but there) and the construction has progressed much further this time.

More anon, but had to post a message praising the support that I received today.

    Result!

Fixing the date of the BIOS to 2012 has allowed the recovery to go much further, but still have up to a point where he had failed.  So, why?

Silly me!  Should have read the instructions on the screen and their follow-up religiously.  Eventually, the restore process (which takes a lot of time) begins to re - install applications and other things.  The message on the screen at the beginning of this process very clearly said that it will automatically reboot several times.  However, being a little too eager to get there, I finally saw a message that said that such and such an application requires a restart to complete the installation and stupidly I clicked the button restart now.  Who killed for the rest of the installation.  Finally I have sussed out - and kept following reconstruction my itchy fingers away from the mouse to the manuscript to rebuild whole had been terminated, making his own restarts suff and hey hop... a PC entirely restored with a nice new Samsung SSD drive.

As an aside, if you plan to replace your hard drive (defective or not) with a Samsung SSD tested loading the Wizard software that comes with it to optimize the OS to SSD hardware.  It optimizes the things like the prefetcher and Super-fetch to the machine and the drive to work more effectively together - very impressive.

Kudos to HP who were great support.  I know that some people say thay have bad experiences.  Mine here in the United Kingdom was outstanding.  The guy listened, asked good questions, gave good advice and has been a pleasure to work with - what would you like... oh yes, his advice worked!

Thanks to HP real home to my little crisis.

A lot of work to do now to recover data, backups (yes I) and re - install a large number of tools that I use, but all disks are there and it's just a matter of time now.

    All the best

    Al
