Configuration Wireless 3G as online backup with cisco switch layer 3?

Hi all

We have an existing GPRS modems for data transfer between 2 different sites, this connection is a bit slow to no more than approximately 114 Kbps, the idea is to add a 3G modem, so the solution will be based on a two-way communication lines which are 3G network and the GPRS network.

The line GPRS will be the main and 3G will be secondary, this redundancy offers a high level of availability of communication between the two sites.

is it possible to configure this redundancy with a cisco switch layer 3? If this is the case do you have a tutorial or a link which explain how to do this work with a layer switch 3 ciso?

all information will be useful for me, thanks

Hello

The config is one provided by anisaini, but you need to change your NAT like this:

IP nat inside source MAIN interface map route x/x main interface

IP nat inside source route-map interface o/o interface secondary SCHOOL

Interior int z/z interface

IP nat inside

int x/x

NAT outside IP

int y/y

NAT outside IP

access-list 99

permit x.x.x.x y.y.y.y where x.x.x.x is your home subnet addresses and y.y.y.y is the corresponding generic mask

PRIMARY route map

match ip add 99

match interface x/x

SECONDARY route map

match ip add 99

game interface y/y

  • Wireless shared time Machine backup with Airport Express?

    Hi all

I looked around lately for a solution to this issue and who struggle to get by.

I'm a musician, and at home, I have an iMac that I work on. Everything is there, basically. I have a Time Machine backup to an external drive.

I also have my old MacBook that I use to play concerts. I have what I need for it there: especially Max/MSP patches, odd live recording and a few samples. I don't have a backup of it right now. Max patches are the only files not on my iMac.

So far, all the files I need for two computers, I have sync with DropBox and OneDrive. I'm getting a little tired of copy things more, re-upload, forgetting where something is and having things scattered everywhere. Ideally I'd like a shared folder of a certain type that is always up-to-date on both computers. This folder will contain Max patches, live recordings and the weird thing I do away from home.

I would also be able to save more flexible:

    • the iMac backup
    • Backup of MacBook Pro
    • Shared folder backup

I've been looking around a bit and I'm not sure how best to do so. A kind of home server would be an option? I have not used one drop/airport/Time Capsule of Apple stuff before, so I'm not sure how they differ from each other.

I like Time Machine, because I can't think to save things. If I could have three backups separated like the ones I mentioned (for the security and because my brain can deal with it better if it is presented that way), that upward with Time Machine or something similar, to some central place automatically.

I looked at the airport in Time Capsule and it looks great, but I can't afford it right now. I also saw contradictory information on AirPort Express can be plugged into an external drive for backup, so if Time Machine can be used with wireless at all.

I hope that what I am asking is logical. I would like the simplest solution to back up two computers and have a shared location for the common files needed on both.

    Thank you!

    Phil.

An option here would be to get a device connected to the network (SIN). This unit can store all the required files and be accessible to one of your computers on your home network. A number of these devices is also available remotely, when necessary. Here is an example.

I would also be able to save more flexible:

    • the iMac backup
    • Backup of MacBook Pro
    • Shared folder backup

To the extent not "have to think about backup things', Time Machine (TM) would be a solution that is easily available to you now. It would create separate for each Mac backups. In addition to using an external hard drive as you do now, other TM backup destinations could be:

    • A time Capsule
    • A 802.11ac AirPort Extreme with a connected USB hard drive. In this configuration, Apple calls the drive and the drive from the airport.
    • A NAS

In the last item in the list, you see that a NAS could offer solutions for each of your goals. However, if you are on a tight budget, likely the most expensive company to undertake, as the physical drive of NAS enclosure can run around $400-600 only, without any installed readers. This is where the time Capsule can work out cheaper for you.

  • View of the horizon 3.5.0 and ThinApp v4.7 with Cisco ASA Smart Tunnel 9.3.3

    Hello

    The problem:

Our technology smart tunnel doesn't seem to be forward traffic to our new customer from the view.  I wonder what kind of configuration changes must be considered to enable such a connection.  The error returned when searching for the host name goes in the direction of the hostname not found.  Error finding of intellectual property is related to the time-out.

    Background information and specifications:

We are in the process of upgrading our servers from 5.2 to 6.2 connection.  As part of the upgrade, we want to improve our customers for the Horizon to use version 3.5.0.  To make it easier on vendors and remote computers we prefer also to our Horizon View Client with ThinApp 4.7.3 ThinApp.  We currently have a Cisco ASA, supporting a SSL VPN portal with "Smart Tunnel" technology.  The ASA is currently on firmware 9.3.3 in production, but we have access to version 9.5 in test.

    Preferred connection scenario:

User > PC > VMware View Client (ThinApp would be) > Cisco ASA Smart Tunnel > view connection server > Virtual Office

.exe running on the client to view ThinApp:

It seems the ThinApp Client version view is only launching VMware - view.exe.

.exe running from the customer view full/thickness:

    VMware - view.exe

    -ftnlsv.exe

    -vmwsprrdpwks.exe

    -ftscanmgr.exe

There is something else to consider when the view client configuration ThinApp or thickness to work with Cisco SSL VPN Portal and the Smart Tunnel?  We should have ports configured in the client in connection with the same view Firewall works with SSL VPN Portal port redirector functionality.

We have not been able to find any documentation on how to properly configure the smart to work with the New Horizon 3.5.2 client Tunnel.  A ticket of troubleshooting with Cisco suggests that the Smart Tunnel feature still perhaps not compatible with this new Horizon (thin or thick) client.  Currently, we are looking at other options because it is not not clear whether Cisco will be able to get us the confirmation or offer a solution without delay of our project to upgrade.  Maybe stick to the previous VMware View Client version 5.4.0 which we know work with Smart Tunnel in some situations and with the redirector port for others.

  • online backup of Oracle

    Hello
What is the proper sequence of online backup with the mode "backup start/end? Currently we are something like a database set to begin the backup, backup of data files (either said by the way, include the controlfiles), place the database in the backup of the end, then save archived logs. The problem is when the resumption of the db, we get an ora-600, something certainly won't.

    TIA

    Hey, Lamont,

While you take a backup of the data files, you cannot take your controlfiles backup in the same order as it is already specified.

If you issue the "alter database backup bagin' command, then this will take the database from a backup mode, where you can take backup of the storage spaces. After the backup, you must write "alter tablespace end backup" command to release form the backup mode and it takes the normalmode.

To backup controlfile, you would write "alter database backup controlfile to trace /'.»» Backup of the controlfile is in any way connected with the begin backup mode or end backup.

I hope that this part is clear. Now to redo log backup, there is no such command to take the backup of the database line.
Basically, in online backup mode, redolog file backup can be taken. You can make a backup of all closed the file, controlfile and redo log file. But this is not possible while you are taking an online backup.

For example, you can specify, that how you take a backup of all these files in database three (datafile, controlfile and redolog file) at the same point of time?

Well, about the error ORA-600, it is usually for the corruption of block error. To do this, I can suggest to check the alert.log file and then put it in detail to understand the exact problem.

    Thank you and best regards,
    MSORA

  • ISE 1.1.2 change of authorization with Avaya switches (5520)

    Hello

I'm ise configuration to make the assessment of posture. I saw avaya my LAN and Core switches. The idea is once the user is authenticated using 802. 1 x, then it will be moved to qurantine vlan and after that it complies with the policy of the company then it will be moved to the vlan real. I have configured the switch avaya to accept the assigned vlan and also configured RADIUS authentication dynamic 802. 1 x. Currently, RADIUS assigned qurantine vlan works but once the nac scan agent and mark the status of compatible PC then the CoA is not the case, and user is not moved to the vlan real.

I tested the same authorization of the ise policy to assign dynamically VLANS on switches cisco and it worked perfectly, but the same thing is not happening on avaya switch.

    Any idea on this?

    Kind regards

    Akhtar

    Akhtar,

Posture with ISE flows have only been tested with Cisco switches:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ISE/1.1.1/compatibility/ise_sdt.html

The RFC says that port 3799 is for CoA, but due to a conflict, we use port 1700 so that my have something to do with it. That said we don't pretend to support 3rd party switches currently.  If you do not want to see this please contact your Cisco account team to check the status of the part 3 switch support or request the feature.

Configure the router Cisco E2000 wireless for my laptop HP with Vista, I can't work.  I spoke with Cisco and they said that my Atheros AR5007 adapter does not work with Cisco E2000 and contact my computer vendor

    Hello

HM... I guess that the Cisco people know what they're taking everything. The AR5005 is a b/g card and there should be a good reason to not work with a router that is able (the E2000 is able g) g.

This is HP drivers for the card, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-55737-1

If you can't make it work, you must decide between a new card or another router.

Personally, if it's new and I could return it, I'd get a different router model. But YMMV

  • Open resetlogs does not work when creating clone db with online backup

    Hi all

I am trying to create a clone database using a database hot backup.

    STEPS I FOLLOWED
    ------------------------------------

    LET-> CURRENT_DB NAME = DEV
    DATABASE NAME = DEVCLONE CLONE

    FORM DEV DB steps
    -----------------------------------------------
-put the database in backup mode using 'alter database begin backup'
-Copy all data files to a different folder
-for the copy, I carried a few operations on the DB (creating users, tables, LMD etc...)
-between the copy, I did also order journal
-at the end of the copy, "alter database end backup.
-created a backup control file in a human-readable format (alter database backup controlfile to trace under...)

steps to clone side DB ((DEVCLONE)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
-created a setting for the database file.
-changed the backup control file, so that it indicates the location of the datafiles copied destination
    -set the ORACLE_SID
    - then "sqlplus / as sysdba"
    -starup nomount
-Run the file updated control (created a control file for database clone)
-recover the database using 'recover database using backup controlfile'
I have provided the files to archive that he was asking for (the archive that has been generated in DEV DB logs)
then I cancelled the recovery by typing 'Cancel '.
    -recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;
    then typed "Cancel".
-then try to open the database with resetlogs open but it showed error below

    ALTER database open resetlogs
    *
    ERROR on line 1:
ORA-01195: online backup of file 1 needs a recovery more match
    ORA-01110: data file 1: ' D:\DATA_GUARD\DEVHOT\SYSTEM01. DBF'

    Please help me on this...

    Thank you

When the database is in BACKUP mode, it is still actively updated, only the data file headers are frozen.
The data files are all "blurred".
To resynchronize the, you can all do it again that was generated during the BACKUP mode - so the generated archivelogs while in BACKUP mode at least the first captured archivelog BACKUP of the END (and release of the datafile headers) is required.

  • Cold backup with online redo logs

I'm working on 10G in AIX for a single instance
It's just a general db backup & restore issue, but I have something confused.

I'll take a cold backup with my database ARCHIVELOG.
No wonder why make a backup of cold because it's a test database that can suffer from loss of data and the time during backup.
I read some guides. They all mentioned to back up all the data files and control files.
When restoring I copy all saved data files and control files to the default location.
    Then mount boot;
    Is the last step before opening the database recover database until cancel;
For the acknowledgement, I do the database recovery command, because again the online newspapers were not saved, so we must recover in order to reset the redo logs.
For my question, I would be in a position of order recovery of database, then directly the database starts, if I backed up online redo logs and copy the default location when restoring?
However, I have read a lot of documents that mentions that it is not proposed to backup online redo logs. Is it simply the case that ONLY applied in the backup hot? Do you think all that for my case, cold backup online redo logs is recommended?

    Thank you all

  • Compatibility of VLAN with Cisco

    Hello

We just bought 10 x new Netgear switches (all M4100) to add to an existing Cisco infrastructure.

Simple configuration with only 6 Valns.

5: Admin, 30: VOIP, 101: management, 100: a set of Workstations, 102: second series of Workstations, 200: IPTV, 400: Internet, 401: Wireless Management

All I wanted to do was: 2 last ports each switch netgear = T and all the VLANS. I have not identified all ports if I want to use in the appropriate vlan

101 of VLAN is my Managementt Vlan. (Need to configure inter vlan routing for this to work)

I only turned on three switches up to now and all three do not work. They work for a while and that packets but do not receive all.

    What I am doing wrong?

What I need to get rid of the original vlan1 on the netgear?

Is that what I need config in the STP to make these compatible with Cisco (300 and 400 series) switches.

I use an optical backbone on Cisco and Netgear switches.

    Sincere greetings,

    OLAF

    Hi Moussa,.

    Thanks for reaching out.

    We got it working.

Step 1: upgrade to the latest firmware.

    Step 2: Forget the MISTLETOE.

We had a few questions about the old firmware - causing links to trunk have some incompatibility with their tag and removed the images between Cisco and Netgear brand.

After the upgrade of the firmware that we had access to "switchport mode access" and "switchport mode trunk" orders fixing the access port and trunking issues.

    Thank you Mr President,

Activate NAT on the WRT or add a static route for 192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0 to 10.0.10.2 on your isa server computer.

Of course, you only want wireless, there is not need to use the WRT as a router. You can set the WRT back to DHCP on internet settings. Set the address LAN IP of 10.0.10.2 with a mask of 255.255.255.0. Disable the DHCP server on the WRT. Then one of the LAN wire ports of the WRT to the ISA Server. Do not use the internet port on the WRT!

Now, you have configured the WRT as simple access point. So you should use your ISA Server to serve DHCP IP addresses inside 10.0.10.0/24...

I'm getting old so I hope that it is not in another complaint curmudgeonly on the loss of functionality. :)

Many small businesses do not want to invest in the PKI. It is usually a pain to deploy, backup, make redundant, etc..

But it would be nice to have a bit more security on VPN other than just the connections of username and password.

If this is not possible, it is possible to configure the Anyconnect customer to IKEv1 with PSK and name at the level of the Group client?

If this is not possible, WTH did cisco end customer VPN cisco as a choice of VPN connection (other than to get more fresh mail of license)?

I really hope that something like this exists still!

    THX,

    WR

    You are welcome

In addition to two factors, you can also do double authentication (ie the two using the user name and password). Each set of credentials can come from a Bank of different identities.

With this scheme, you can can configure a local user name (common) with password on the SAA (think of it as your analog PSK) and the other be the AD user identification information.

  • If you choose for online backups rman, what a $ORACLE_HOME

    Hello ladies.

I am rewriting our backup procedure. I learned that shortly the company will need the backups online (for the moment, we have the luxury of a backup of cold 03:00).

I would like to use rman, must justify the vultures/managers and why it is preferable to managed user online backup. Managed backup of said user would put the db in backup, then instant mode the registrants concerned.

The only problem I see with rman to date is that (so I read it) the utility won't save the binary / configuration files - that is to say the $ORACLE_HOME.

Is this true? If so, the corner of rman falls a point. Does anyone out there use rman for onlines? If so, how do you take care of your $ORACLE_HOME? I was thinking a user managed weekly export or something like that.

Seriously, I would start again using rman.

    Thank you.

Thanks a lot, it sounds like a reasonable to follow policy.

    1. as it is to create the trunk between switch and host directly, can I use spanning tree portfast chest edge ?

    2. when don't we use no ip address and when not for this configuration? I see online showing examples with and without it.

    3. in some articles, he described in access mode , while in others he said dot1q trunk mode. See here for the access mode. Admin think it should use dot1q.

4 Etherchannel is fully support and preferred extending from links on maps, right? Not all of the links on the same card?

5 is this the case in order to change the load balancing algorithm in vmware first or first to the work of cisco? I did first vmware. (IP-hash)

    1. we have several VLANS that descends from 3 links on the etherchannel. Thus, we should use mode trunk because there is not a single.

    2. we have an another etherchannel with just 1 vlan (vmotion), but in all of two links. This should be the access mode. Or is it still trunk because it's the multiple links?

    1 Yes

    2. you would certainly make an access port.
