• Scan to PDF doesn't work don't not with J4680 all-in-One

  I can't get the scan to searchable PDF (PDF and PDF) file to work as expected with my new J4680.

  It works very well with other formats (TIF, JPG, etc.), but not with the PDF.

  Thanks, the problem is resolved for now.

  Suppot of HP was somehow in the right direction. I uninstalled the drivers all (!) of the 'old' hardware HP (6110 OfficeJect, ScanJet,...), reinstalled the J4680 completely and from there everything worked.

  Internal error (WIN XP) seems to be related to a conflict with older drivers.

  I bought my Satellite 100-451 in May 2007.
  Windows Internet Explorer often didn't work since the beginning, so I downloaded Firefox and have used it since then.

• Conflict of ATI with Windows, leading to the display driver crashes

  I have a matter of course on my new system. At first, I thought it was the video/hardware related, but now I'm leaning towards whether a conflict with Windows. However, I have no way of tracking it.

  Question: my screen is going to die randomly when running intensive applications Aero, games, etc. Everything will work fine for a while (anywhere), but then the clicker from desire to screen and the display will be turned off. On the screen, I see a series of vertical bars of white with a color background. It does not seem to lock the computer, as I hear it still go sound background for once; the computer restarts finally if I leave alone long enough.

  This is all performed on a new install of Windows 7 x 64, Vista Business 64 upgrade. Temperatures on the map of all read as usual and there is no errors appear in the event viewer after that I reload. Apart from the critical error "unexpected stop.

  When this first started happening, I contacted XFX Support for the video card. They had me uninstall the ATI drivers, run driver Sweeper and reinstall drivers. This seemed to solve the problem until Tuesday, when Windows Update installed KB977074 - a completely independent update of video - and then errors started happening again.

  After an adjustment with the restoration of the system, I tried to format the drive and start again. After getting Windows 7 x 64, I started to install programs one by one, checking after each installation to see if I could create the error again. Everything was going well until I reached a program that Basic Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x 86) installed. So I re-installed and removed the 2008 package. thinking that it was a conflict between the two (/ straws), but it did nothing.   I don't know if I'm still on a conflict driver, hardware problems, or if the C++ packages are some how messing my system. I don't put much faith in the second, because I do not think that the first scan with driver Sweeper would have so much success, only to be later taken by a totally independent Windows Update file.

  So, to save my sanity. I've been looking through past posts and didn't find any error similar to mine, so I'm pretty sure this isn't another repost. However, if I managed to miss something, please point me to the right post.

• Conflicts of color with Nvidia Graphics Card control panel management

  If I use a material in function color profiling solution to calibrate my monitor will there be any conflicts or issues related to my graphics NVIDIA card settings.

  Not sure about the video card, but I'd be very surprised if she didn't support ICC profiles.

  If you buy a package of profiling Display 2 EyeOne, X-Rite is a free utility called DisplayProfile.exe, which allows to load profiles in your video card or modify on the fly.  I use it every time that my machine starts, so I can load a profile for my main screen and a 2nd one for my secondary monitor (which I use to display my palettes).  It works with the profiles that have a certain internal tag, and I know that it works with my Eye One Match and ProfileMaker monitor profiles (both shot by Gretag MacBeth, now owned by Xrite).

  Looks like you have a significant investment in the hardware and software already.  If you want reliable, predictable color, you will need to profile your monitor.  This is particularly true for good matching print monitor.  If printing is not a big deal and that you for most of the stuff on the web, then you can probably get away with a built-in monitor, given that most of the people have calibrated monitors in any case.  But, if you need your color to be precise, you will need to find a way.

  Maybe your video card turns off or you replace custom profile, but that seems unusual.  You should be able to get an EyeOne Dispay for around $200.  If you know that you need a monitor profiling package in any case, I could first buy it and see if you can make it work.  I would only buy a new videocard thereafter, if absolutely necessary.  BTW, monitor profiling packages may not generate custom printer profiles.  This, to a spectrophotometer and a more expensive package.

  Firefox may be restoring the last used window dimensions based on a non-plus-relevant monitor configuration. You can try to delete a settings file and see if Firefox detects better your installation at the next reboot.

  With Firefox closed, open your current folder of the (AKA Firefox profile) on Firefox settings. Paste this in the search box on the start menu or in the address bar of Windows Explorer:

• Scanning with J4680 wireless

  I just bought the J4680 and'm running on Vista.  I had a devil of a time of implementation, but finally got the printer works wirelessly.  I do not see so he can work wireless to scan, I have to plug the USB to make and the quality is poor.  Did I miss something in the documentation or can't scan for wireless?

  I guess that the 5th time a charm.  Nothing worked so I JUST uninstalled once more and started from scratch and ultimately successful to do work.

• Conflict of widget with full screen

  Hi all!

  Good news:

  I created a button full screen in a flash to Captivate movie file that works like the button full screen for youtube videos that fills the entire screen to 100%. Works great!

  Problem:

  However, if any widget is inserted on a slide into a Captivate course, fullscreen works except it disables the functionality of 100%. To clarify the problem, when full screen is enabled, the size of the real dimensions course remains the same while the rest of the background goes full screen with any widget included in any Captivate slide.

  Without using Widgets, full screen works fine but I would eventually like to use widgets in my classes. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Any advice or fixes?

  The problem is that the widgets use a Flash command called StageScaleMode = NO_SCALE in order to adapt the settings of the widget in their rightful place in the widget properties interface. If you do not use this command, then the window of parameters of the widget will be blown out of proportion and the Captivate Developer won't be able to enter anything in the settings of the Widget tab.   Sometimes routers do not display static IP addresses in the list of active connections. It can show in other places. I've seen this on other routers. Some do not display all connected independently static or reserved. Maybe clear the browser's cache and restart the router and see if it comes back. I'd get the printer has left the DHCP pool.
