Confusion of conduit - Palm TX on Vista

Have I'm in a mess and I'm afraid of losing the years log data. My wife has used the Palm trees for years and has been modified by using a T3 with the Palm Desktop software. It started to show its age and we decided to bite the bullet and go into Windows Mobile way with Vista Mobile Device Center. This has proved to be a bit of a disaster and no bases itself. I noticed that Palm TX was still available, so decided to return to the fold of the Palm. After the steps very careful the transfer to the new TX has been reached with the Palm Desktop (now called Access) synchronization and everything seemed fine but Hot Sync failed in the middle of synchronization Databook. The PC froze and only a firm forced me out of it. On the theory that the desktop PC file was corrupted, I installed the desktop software on my own Vista machine to get a copy of the data out of the TX. Yet once synchronization does not so I'm stuck.

Looking at the confuguration Hot Sync I noticed he conducted are checked for Databook and calendar, as well as Contacts and addresses. I thought that these names are synonyms, so I'm confused.

Can anyone shed light on this matter and a guide to get out?

Thank you very much.

There may be the database at the source of the problem. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will search the database and then to declare the corruption. You can then search records at the origin of the problem and fix them yourself or you can buy the program and do it automatically repair records.

http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm

To install the program to the TX, set the conduit in Hotsync manager to do nothing, so it does not block on all categories of PIM.

After correction of the records on the handheld, defined the lines for computer Pocket replaces desktop and sync on the PC.

  • With the help of Palm III with Vista

I just got a new computer with Vista.  I tried loading the CD Palm III software, but it wouldn't let me move forward.  The Palm III has a serial port connector.  I intend using a USB converter series to connect to the computer.  Is there a software to use with Vista?

Hello and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

It depends on the version of Vista you have (32-bit or 64-bit):

Vista 32 bit: synchronizing Hotsync cable using Palm Desktop 6.2 (support & downloads link above) as well as the free PalmHotsyncSetup of www.pimlicosoftware.com utility

Vista 64-bit: because there is no 64-bit drivers, your only hope is to synchronize with a radiant infrared using an adapter IRDA ("dongle") on your computer, along with the combination of above software.

Good luck, let us know how make you out with it.

  • Palm Tungsten E with XP for Palm TX with Vista 64

Those who have read the title of this post know that the solution is not obvious.

I now have a Palm Tungsten E synchronization on a PC with Windows XP (sp2), I've been so far. I changed to a computer with Windows Vista (64-bit). I bought a Palm TX and a USB Bluetooth adapter to be able to synchronize between my computer and my new Palm TX. This is apparently the only solution that works with a 64 bit Vista computer.

I have the calendar, the touch and the memo of my last sync files with my old computer.

What is the market to follow recommended action to make this transition?

    Please help, I'm desperate!

    Dear WyreNut,

It's been a long road and difficult, but I think I'm finally here.

I followed all your instructions for my transition from my TE in my TX as well regarding the WiFi sync and everything seems to be all right. I even downloaded a few additional applications that I had and they also work well. I will continue tomorrow, but I think that I have now a few on the situation. Your procedure for WiFi sync went exactly as described. (I kept my arthritic disorder all the time I cross my fingers.)

Once more a big thank you, I certainly couldn't have done it without your help.

    Kind regards

  • Could not get palm pilot tx to work with vista 64-bit

I bought a Dell Studio Hybrid under Vista 64 - bit OS with 4 GB of RAM. .  However, according to the website Compatinbility Web of Microsoft Vista, Vista 64-bit is not compatible with the Palm TX, just Vista running 3 GB of RAM or less.  Anyone can tell me how to get my Palm TX for work (sync) with the Vista 64-bit operating system?

I tried to copy the user.dat file but it fails.

    Someone has a better idea!

    WyreNut,

Thanks for your help and explanation.

I uninstalled Palm Desktop and re - install, then it works.

However, when I re - install office, you do not find the default configuration of the internet (which is weird).  In any case, it's OK now.

I guess that the problem is probably in the previous installation (where I tried to change Palm Desktop to the user administrator to my user profile), some files are not removed because of the closure.

    In any case, thank again.

  • Palm TX: Outlook via Microsoft Exchange synchronization, but no data is transferred

    Dear Group

I'm not a beginner. I am very computer and hardware gadget and intuitive software. My PalmTX syncs, but there is no data transferred. Previously, Sync worked well on Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2013. However, I started having problems with the transfer of data after synchronization when I lowered the score of 2013 Office to Office 2010. I've demoted office 2013 because it was a big eater of resources on my computer. I stripped all the reminants of office 2013 (including the reminants registry) before you install Office 2010 to ensure that there is no possibility of confusion for the Palm TX. I tried freezing and reinstall several times. Note, every time that I run this process, I uninstalled the software/files Outlook and Palm/all software including any reminants of registry. When I reinstalled, I started with the Outlook2007 then the PalmDeskTopSetup6.2.2, then the PalmConduit2007. Also, I tried several new synchro and cleaned/disable-dusted cables connectors for synchronization on the Palm TX itself... with no success.

I think the problem is that the conduit itself is not be trained. In Hotsync when I click Configure > change hotsync action > settings, I get an error message stating "Microsoft Outlook Conduit - an unknown error has occurred." Previously, this setting function would have text that would allow me to change how the conduit receives data (e.g. MS Exchange;) IMAP) I remember correctly - not 100% sure. If my suspicions are correct, one of the following values is corrupt: PalmDeskTopSetup6.2.2, PalmConduit2007 or MS Exchange. Given that I don't have a "fresh" copies of PalmDeskTopSetup6.2.2 and PalmConduit2007 because HP links no longer work, I ran a repair on my file of MS Exchange. It still has not fixed the problem. Note that whenever I have to uninstall/reinstall Outlook, I delete the MS Exchange and files all connected, as it recreates it from scratch when Outlook is reinstalled again. To be clear, does not preclude MS Exchange as the culprit because Microsoft adds a fix or security to every time something else change always 'breaks' :-).  I'm not sure what to do next. If anyone has had this problem or have any suggestions on what I could do to fix this? I really really need my at least my calendar of transferred to my Palm TX. Help, please. Thank you.

My computer and the Palm TX is the following configuration:

    * Win7 x 64

    * In the course of running Outlook 2007 (downgraded from 2010 to 2013 because MS Office Products are resource hogs on my computer)

    * Email Sources: MS Exchange (work) and local ISP (home - email IMAP) - both accounts are running simultaneously

    * Synchronize via USB

    * Driver: Akeeba to Win x 64

    * Software installation of operating system Palm: HP - PalmDeskTop6.2.2 (contains HotSync Manager 7.0.2); HP PalmOutlook2007Condiut

    Dear Group

I solved my problem. I wanted to share with you the solution for those of you who maybe had a similar problem AND you have tried all the suggestions that have been posted since the Palm OS/WinMo Forum without success. My problem is that something that she prevented the pipeline connecting my Palm Outlook of training courses. The result was that my Palm computer / would synchronize but no data (entered calendar, tasks, etc.) won't be transferred. Before we get to what has worked for me, run through the following options before trying my fix:

    1. BACK UP YOUR FILES! BACK UP YOUR FILES! BACK UP YOUR FILES!
    2. Repair your outlook (pst or ost) files - microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of Microsoft outlook. Uninstall and reinstall the Palm components (Installation and relevant lines for your outllook files). Synchronize your Palm/and check for content transfer (calendar, tasks, etc.) for your Palm. If this is not successful...
    3. Delete your current outlook profile and create a new profile - microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of Microsoft outlook. Synchronize your Palm/and check for content transfer (calendar, tasks, etc.) for your Palm. If this is not successful...
    4. Completely uninstall outlook, which will include the deletion of the relevant registry entries and system files. I HIGHLY recommend that you DO NOT attempt to do it "manually" yourself unless you experience such changes on your computer. Incorrect changes to your registry files or computer system will completely shut down your computer and ultimately to lose all your data because of the methods that will be needed to fix your mistake. The good news for those of you who have no expertise in this area is that Microsoft has made a DIFFICULTY IT PATCH REMOVAL TOOL that will automatically run a complete unstall of outlook or office.  -microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of Microsoft outlook. Uninstall and reinstall the Palm components (Installation and relevant lines for your outllook files). Synchronize your Palm/and check for content transfer (calendar, tasks, etc.) for your Palm. If this is not successful...
    5. To ensure that your data are fully INDEXED. In your control panel, there must be a parameter called OPTIONS of INDEXING. If Indexing is not complete, follow instructions from Microsoft for your version of Windows to allow for the completion of indexing. Note that this will take time. You can do this night. Uninstall and reinstall the Palm components (Installation and relevant lines for your outllook files). Synchronize your Palm/and check for content transfer (calendar, tasks, etc.) for your Palm. If this is not successful... Uninstall the components of Palm. Return to the OPTIONS of INDEXING and completely Strip and rebuild your index from scratch by pressing the Refresh button in your version of Windows. Note that this will take time, again you can do this night or weekend depending on how much stuff you have on your computer. When finished, reinstall the components of Palm, synchronize your Palm/and check for content transfer (calendar, tasks, etc.) for your Palm. If this is not successful...
    6. Finally, what worked for me was creating a new WINDOWS PROFILE. I discovered thanks to make another system and software checks that I did not mention here that my WINDOWS PROFILE was damaged and it was what was causing the failure of training leads between my outlook and palm. How do you create a new windows profile will be different depending on your Version of the Windows operating system.  -microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of Windows. Uninstall and then reinstall outlook. Uninstall and reinstall the Palm components (Installation and relevant lines for your outllook files). Synchronize your Palm/and check for content transfer (calendar, tasks, etc.) for your Palm.

    Good luck

  • Upgrade Plam Desktop app for Palm Desktop by ACCESS

Have tried to move from Palm Desktop on Vista (Tungsten T) again Palm Desktop by ACCESS that came with a new Centro, I get the message "File in use" during the installation process.  The message is this: the following applications use files should be updated by this Setup. Close the application and click Retry to continue - Windows Explorer (process Id: 1716).  1468, yesterday.

Explorer does not at least visibly.  Yesterday, I ignored this process and passed, but something seems to have gone wrong.  I was not able to sync.  Information about Palm Desktop was missing.

From TT to Centro, I probably have to give up 3rd party applications, but move all the other data (contacts, calendar, Memo, etc.) for Centro.  The tech guy that I was talking last night could not help me and told me to call someone who is familiar with the Palm.  Someone at - he meets a similar problem?

Yes, you will need to update the Docs To Go to 10 or save the files in 2003 for use on the Centro with the current version of the DTG.

Regarding the 3rd party app, the Centro is a newer and improved performance compared to the T.

The Centro has 4 times the internal memory at T has.

If you wish, you can first try to install it on the map and see if there are performance problems. If this isn't the case, then stay on the map. If it seems slow, install in the main memory of Centro.

    Release Notes install this software

Do not uninstall earlier versions of Palm Desktop. If you have a version of Palm Desktop on your PC, leave as-is and install this version over this one.

For a better experience, restart your PC and close all applications before installing this software.

    What's new?

Integrated office: Simple desktop compatibility and drove across all Palm OS 3.5.x using 5.4.x devices.

Installer: the installation tool, which replaces the "Palm Quick Install" tool, allows you to synchronize .prc and .pdb files (databases and Palm OS applications) with your device.

Sync Outlook 2007: allows you to use your USB sync cable to sync with Outlook 2007, Contacts, calendar tasks and Notes. This version includes all previously released patches such as the Outlook 2007 update.

What is NOT in this software?

Palm quick install tool: the Palm Quick install tool has been replaced by the installation tool, which allows you to install applications on your device via HotSync.

VersaMail HotSync synchronization: you will not be able to synchronize emails via USB sync cable. The e-mail synchronization wireless, including Exchange ActiveSync with Outlook, is not affected by this limitation.

Birthday and anniversary reminders that appear in the calendar on your Palm device will not appear in the calendar in the Palm Desktop application. This does not apply to manually created calendar events; It applies only to recall triggered from the fields of application for birthday and anniversary Contacts on your device. These callbacks do not appear in Palm Desktop, but they will be saved on your computer when you synchronize, and they will be restored on your Palm device if you erase your device and then synchronize to recover data from a backup.

The events in the calendar color coding is no longer supported.

64-bit of Windows Vista are not supported.

You may need to reinstall the third-party applications with which you sync currently. Check with the vendor of the third-party software for updates.

  • Vista UAC breaks sync Desktop 6.2.2?

I have a Treo650 and Vista 32 Ultimate. I have also Vista UAC turned and that can be problematic with legacy applications "not designed for Vista. For much of the last year, I used the 'Vista beta' office and sync very well, so I made the mistake of "redevelopment" of the version of the Desktop software, which is listed as version 6.2 but says on the version 6.2.2.

I say mistake because all of a sudden - do not synchronize Contacts, the calendar will not sync, all kinds of basic functionality stops when UACs are enabled. If I turn off the (that deteriorating security on the computer, cookies of changes and logons, wreaks havoc in a small way) everything syncs.

Stupidly, I didn't keep a backup copy of the "beta" software, or if I did, he hid from me too much housekeeping. Palm seems blissfully unaware of this problem. So, I'm the only user of Treo, which also uses UACs of Vista? Or has someone at - he found a way to tag/flag desktop software so it does not work with them? Install it to a different location or something?

    Anyone?

Well well, funnier. I tracked down a copy of the beta version of office, 6.2.1. Uninstalled the 4.2 version than Palm wasted my time with, installed 6.2.1 and knock wood, it works fine. IIRC 6.2.1 does not something 6.2.2 not... maybe the synchronization of email, but I do not use that it's a moot point for now.

6.2.1, 6.2.2 doesn't work. And for some reason any... Palm has purged 6.2.1 of their web site, which makes it quite difficult to track down.

I remember when I got on the phone that people said the 650 arose with Vista (i.e. need the beta version of Palm Desktop for Vista) while the new phones have been delivered with a software that had no problem. Don't know. How they had 6.2.1 in open beta for so long, and what they have broken with 6.2.2... I see the orange logo in the corner, but I have to ask, is there really anyone there?

Or makes them more intelligent all take off for Silicon Beach and leave just the worker droids?
