CONFUSION ON WHAT IS THIS LAPTOP IN ORDER TO GET THE CORRECT CHIP SOUND DRIVER

THE BACKGROUND OF THIS LAPTOP SAYSIT IS:

PRODUCT: HP PAVILION dv 1000

SN #[personal information]

PN # PM054UA #ABA

NOW, WHEN I PUT IN THE PN # IT SHOWS

HP Pavilion dv1040us PC drivers

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT IT WAS BUILT AT THE TIME OF THIS CHANGE.  FOR THE 1000 SOUND DRIVER DOES NOT CHANGE AND THERE IS NO SOUND BY HARMAN/KARDON BUILT-IN OR HEADPHONES.

IT OF MAYBE A BURNED ON THE CHIP AND IF SO WHAT SOFTWARE CAN I USE TO TEST THIS SITUATION?

I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I KNOW AND AM OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS.  I HAVE LUCK, USE THE DRIVERS FOR THE 1040?

THANK SOMEONE FOR SUGGESTIONS.  J

Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your machine:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00247186

Yes, it's a dv1040us and its product number is PM054UA #ABA. TIS must be very old machine because I can't find more than:

For her, please try Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio Driver:

Kind regards.
