Conn / as sysdba security loop hole

Some OS users can connect to the database as "/ as sysdba".

We want to restrict that.

It should come as

ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

It must connected through the Osuser who has the right to log on as SYSDBA. But we connected through the user who is not the database owner.

Please suggest.

in SQLNET. ORA, SQLNET set. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTR) and remote_login_passwordfile chain EXCLUSIVE

Because the members of the Group DBA to control who can connect 'as sysdba' to the database.

All the file IO is made by Oracle, run as the oracle user processes, as well as its material file system permissions.

    yes any can login as sysdba with any password

    you can protect, by doing this below.

    change or add the parameter in the sqlnet.ora file to none

    sqlnet.authentication_services = (NONE)

    expect correct password no one can access;

    try this

    then Check;

    SQL> SELECT * FROM V$PWFILE_USERS;

    try this:-
    conn sys/any_password(or)word as sysdba
    eg:
    conn sys/oracle as sysdba;
    connected

    conn any_normal_User/pwd as sysdba;
    show user;

    after changing the sqlnet.ora parameter to none try.

    conn any_normal_user/pwd as sysdba;

    conn sys/any_pwd as sysdba;

    conn sys/correct_pwd as sysdba;

    If you mean by security windows, Microsoft Security Essentials (supported in this forum) and you run McAfee Antivirus as part of McAfee security, then you run two simultaneous real-time antivirus scanners.  It is a recipe for potentially serious performance problems, conflicts and security loop holes.  Both anti-virus applications interfere with each other.  It is foolish to debug your echolink problem until resolve you this first.  Choose one and completely uninstall the other.

  • captured by phishing on ipad despite high security

    Hello

    Ive been using my ipad 2 since many years (8?) and still have it on the security settings more high and have never had any problems or see pop-ups.  2 days ago, I clicked on a normal link in my facebook news feed and I was presented with a page that says "you have won a prize amazon apple!" I immediately thought this sounded suspicious even if the page looked very amazon-like. a small pop up box that says click on the 'ok' button to say that you have read this appeared.  There is no other way to navigate on this page apart from by clicking 'ok', so I did.  the next screen then says 'answer this question multiple choice to get your price' but I was able to navigate off this screen, so I did, without clicking any boxes.

    We have never been victims of any form of fraud by credit card we are super careful with all our our security today our Bank called to say someone had tried to take the money on our account yesterday, but didn't, so they send us new credit cards.  It's too coincidental that ive never had a pop up on my ipad before and had never tried to credit card fraud and now they occur within 24 hours of each other!  so I think that I got caught in a phishing scam in this page 'price '.

    can you please tell me:

    (a) how can the phishers took my credit card details when I na not enter their phishing pages - I didn't click a button "ok". However, the credit card details are stored on the ipad (itunes... paypal... etc). Fortunately they failed to get their hands on security number 3-digit therefore couldn't actually get our money.

    (b) how can I got this pop up when my ipad is set to 'no' for pop ups and ive never had before? have the crooks have found a loop hole in the apple system? I thought IOS armored?

    (c) is my ipad now infected somehow? If I now put my new credit card details on this subject these details will be passed to the scammers? How can I check?

    Thank you

    Except if you entered credit card information, they did not receive it of yours that pop up on your iPad. The timing was just a coincidence. You are much more likely to have had your credit card information stolen if a store where you used it was their records compromised. Target has a big problem with that. My debit card has been replaced twice due to similar data theft in merchants. None of them were Apple.

    Anyone seen this before? Any tips or hints appreciated!

    Thank you

    DOB is only ORACLE_SID.

  • Beginning XE in official of virtual machine

    I need an installation Oracle XE for the sole purpose of developing PHP applications. I use windows stand-alone installations, but they are rather resource intensive and slow to start/stop, when I learned that Oracle provides VirtualBox virtual machines already provisioned I decided to give it a try. I jumped 'Enterprise PHP development VM' download because the link seems to point to a quite different solution and opted for 'Service Delivery Platform VM' since it seems that the simpler beam which includes XE.

    To my surprise, the virtual machine is far from ready for use. The document of "download and installation Instructions for SDP - VM" bound (SDP_VM_Instructions.pdf) only covers internal parts of VirtualBox. I found another document in Google ("Practical preparations" aka OCSG_Prep_Guide.pdf) which describes some tedious parameters on the underlying operating system (a customized version of RHEL/6.7) which I have already completed.

    As a first step, I still don't know if Oracle is actually being run. There is no web server listening to http://localhost:8008/apex/f? p = 4950 and all my attempts to connect with sqlplus lead to "ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified" or "ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently of service required in the connection descriptor. I would appreciate any clue to determine if the database server is running and how to connect to it.

    The database, do not put its something possible glitched in the creation of the instance and the service started.

    A suggestion, try to set a password for the user oracle, switchuser and sqlplus connection sysdba and try starting. Will also need some variable parameters of environment for this to work:

    sudo passwd oracle

    ... new password:...

    Su - oracle

    Export ORACLE_HOME =

    export PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $PATH

    export ORACLE_SID = XE

    sqlplus/nolog

    Conn virtue sysdba

    ... connected to the inactive instance... #? no doubt

    start-up;

    leave parameters # database open... memory...?

    The value of is the path where the oracle binaries are installed, can't remember the exact but value if the listener is running is easy to find on the command line:

    ps - ef | egrep LIST

    ... 1 oracle... /u01/app/oracle/.../bin/tnslsnr EARPHONE...

    All about ORACLE_HOME value tnslsnr is upward through, not including/bin /, no slash end. The parameters "export...". "can be tricky, spaces will switch to the top of most of the people. Startup may fail if the configuration of the installation completes successfully

  • Role permissions for the same object more

    Hello everyone,

    I work in a large company with lots of data and Oracle DB base, specifically

    the management of the security services account (accounts, roles, privileges, etc...).

    In a few DB, we have a role named RO ALFA READ, with grant select on table TABLE_32.

    The ROLE of ALPHA, or better, the ROLE ALFA users grant specifically also in the array of objects.

    This is the final situation:

    SQL > SELECT * FROM DBA_ROLE_PRIVS WHERE DEALER = "TIZIO";

    DEALER GRANTED_ROLE SMA DEF

    ------------------------------ ------------------------------ --- ---

    TIZIO CONNECT YES

    TIZIO RESOURCE NO YES

    TIZIO                          DBA                            NO  YES

    TIZIO SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE NO YES

    TIZIO AQ_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE NO YES

    TIZIO RO_ALFA_READ NO YES

    SQL > c.role.tab

    ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ --------------------------------

    TIZIO                          SYS                            TABLE_32                       SYS                    SELECT

    In your view, why the engineer decided to give this privilege 'double' on the table?

    Thank you!

    Perhaps because the privileges granted through a role are not used during the execution of a procedure:

    Can someone explain this situation?

    DB version: 11.2.0.4.0

    in the scheme of the User1, there is a procedure:

    create or replace procedure do_alter_user is
    begin
    execute immediate 'alter user hr identified by hr acount unlock';
    end;

    now, we run the procedure like this

    conn / as sysdba
    exec user1.do_alter_user;

    There is an error return

    ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

    its easy to give the user to alter privilege to User1.

    But im running the procedure as SYS?

    Thank you.

    Update:

    When running the steps in a database 11.2.0.2.0 the procedue completes successfully.

    its easy to give the user to alter privilege to User1.

    But im running the procedure as SYS?

    Caution - it is important to be VERY precise in the terms / words that you use.

    You say you 'perform the procedure as SYS' but most likely, you mean that the SYS user is to PERFORM the procedure, which is owned by USER1.

    The procedure is a defect, the DEFINER rights procedure so it runs with the privileges of USER1, not SYS privileges.

  • Failed to connect to 11G Sql developer XE

    Hi gurus,

    I tried for more than a week to make this work. Basically, I am trying to install database XE 11.2.0 on my 64-bit windows computer 7.
    I had problems with the listener getting, finally managed to get to the top by removing the Oracle_home and reinstall 11 g XE.
    Changed the listener.ora file to include the XE - rebooted sid th listener so now its working.

    -I am able to start the instance of the as command prompt

    Please let me know how I can fix this issue. The final objective is to get the operational database and be able to conenct to the Sql Developer installed on the same machine.

    any help will be greatly appreciated.

    ORA-00205: error in the identification of control files, see log alerts for more information

    It's a symptom of an execution incomplete Installer, basically you have a database at startup. It's I think, anyway.

    Only suggestion is to make an uninstall, after all the uninstall the steps outlined in the Installation Guide for Windows, then try running Setup.

    With later versions of Windows, some things have need a session "run as Administrator". And that's it, as far as I know of the Windows operating system.

    See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/install.112/e18803/toc.htm#CIHDDHJD
