  • ... My BRAND NEW HP Officejet Pro 8630 load photo paper...

I just bought a HP Officejet Pro 8630 and it will NOT print on paper HP Premium Plus Photo or a generic brand of paper photo.  I just unboxed and configure all web settings.  Printing on plain paper works fine; However, when I place a small load of ~ 20 sheets of paper in the UPPER tray, the printer is trying to load then present and error message "Out of Paper".  I can then immediately turn around and put a single or the stack of paper in the upper tray and the printer will print.  I tried a single sheet of photo on a stack of regular paper, remove the stack of photo paper and loosening the battery in order to ensure that they don't are not glued together, as well as turn off the printer and the cleaning of all THE rolls by instructional video of HP and it still DOES NOT... (out of paper message).

I got exactly the same problem with an Officejet Pro 8600 this printer just replaced.  I had a similar but even more frustrating problem with HP 8500Pro; None of them will properly load the photo paper.  I do not know how to choose the type of appropriate paper via the print from the application menu and I tried to choose the types of paper "regularly."  No solution worked.  I'll take my stack of photo papers to the store chain that I bought the printer since they have the same model of 8630 display.  I will then try to print a test them to see if the same error occurs.  If it works there, I'll take this point to poor quality HP control and quickly return my printer.  If them does not load, I have to draw them on paper photo off their tray, and then try again.

    Please help...

    Update:

I went back to the store I bought the printer from.  They had Xerox 80 lb stock in Tray 1 and it printed without problem.  I took a stack of my HP Premium Plus Photo Paper (~ 20 sheets), removed their and mine inserted into Tray 1.  It would not load the paper and gave the same error 'out of paper '.  Commercial agent has experienced the same problem.  She then withdrew the paper except just a sheet of my Photo paper; It is then printed.  It prints all the way up to 4 sheets inserted at the same time in the status bar.  Any more of 3 sheets caused the printer to fail to load the paper.  It sounds like a fault with HP loading mechanism.  I noticed that the Xerox 80 lb pound felt slightly thinner my photo paper I have so bought Advanced Photo Paper from HP (66lb) as opposed to the Premium Plus.   I took a pile of about 15 leaves for the printer and loaded.  It seems to load well and has not failed with an error.

HP... you've had several lines of OfficeJet Pro to do things and it seems you are always dropping the ball with a defective printer product.  Where is your quality control?

  • All-in-one OfficeJet J4550: only a fraction of the feed photo paper

I am trying to print photos of 4 * 6 using HP photo tip on an OfficeJet J4550 paper.  Sometimes it works but most of the time after the initial report pull in the paper and the printer starts to print, paper only continues to fuel in about half of the way through the printing process.  So I find myself with half right of the image about half left of the document.  Sometimes I get two-thirds of the image and sometimes only one third - it varies.  The part of the picture I get is really good!  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Hey @Steve2034, welcome to the Forums of HP! I'd love to help you to print photo 4 x 6 of your Officejet J4550. I understand that sometimes you can print a photo 4 x 6 full, but most of the time that the book fails to pass correctly so you end up with a partial impression. This happens when you print on 8 x 10 or any other photo paper? What happened when you print documents? Could you please try to make a copy of the photo of a photo 4 x 6 in order to test the equipment and eliminate the software/driver?

Although you may be able to print documents, and assuming that it's a hardware problem, please complete the solutions suggested, presented in the following document: HP Officejet J4500/J4600 all-in-One Printer Series - Error Message "on paper" and the printer is not Pick Up or paper feed.

I don't think you see an message to document your description, but the options presented in the document above could solve the problem you are experiencing.

If the question is indeed solved, please click Accept as Solution button below. If however, the problem persists, let me know and post back with the answers to the above questions.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

  • Ink not drying not on HP premium photo paper more

I have a printer all-in-one HP Envy 5530 - purchased new less than 6 months ago.

New HP - #61 black and tri-color ink cartridges #61

New HP Premium Plus Photo paper, gloss soft finish.

I am printing of photographs (black + white and color photos) and ink does not dry. I print the right side of the paper - it's easy to say that there is an HP logo on the wrong side. The ink comes immediately on my finger with the slightest touch, even after the hours have elapsed. I had a HP older and never had this problem. I appreciate any suggestions that I am an artist and need to print images that just won't get dirty when handled.

Have you selected the correct media type?

  • Printing on Photo paper with black ink cartridge - J6480 - grayscale does not work

With:, Mac OS 10.6.6 more latest software HP Print/Scan/utilities:

The color radio button to use the black cartridge is grayed out if you choose to print in grayscale. If the color cartridge is empty, you cannot print in grayscale on photo paper. It allows you to print in grayscale on plain paper.

In other words, that it is making me use the color cartridge for printing in grayscale on photo paper. It doesn't look good for me.

Well Yes, that's right.  The ink in the black cartridge is an ink pigment (about particles of carbon suspended in the solution) and cannot be absorbed by the photo paper.  The ink in the color cartridge is dye based (like dye food) and is absorbed by the coating on photo paper.  That is why all the printing with black cartridge is denied when using photo paper.

Pigmented ink is used in the black cartridge to produce the beautiful crisp text on plain paper.  There are HP printers with cartridges 'Photo Black' which are ink to dye black which can be used on photo paper.  These printers also have a black text in another cartridge which is a pigmented ink.

  • 7612 All In One OfficeJet: HP Officejet 7612 won't print without margins on A3 + photo paper.

Just bought an Officejet 7612 specifically for printing photos without edge of 13 X 19. I use Windows 8.1 and tried 5 different paint and photo printing programs. All programs list the same options of paper size for the 7612 (choice 2 choices, and 7610 series watch regular and fax printer). The only options for 13 X 19 or A3 + with HP advanced paper selected photo is low-margin. I went to options/settings and selected the printer printing without margins, but all attempts to cause a small margin. I don't use HP Photo Creations because he won't open a TIFF, which has better quality than JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, offers the only options Photo Creations. There are choices for edge to edge printing, but for the smaller paper sizes. I lose paper photo cheap and need help to resolve this.  Thank you

  • ENVY 4250: Ink smear/wet on photo paper

WHENEVER I TRY TO PRINT PHOTOS INK DOES NOT DRY AND IT BLEED OFF PAPER, EVEN THOUGH I LET SIT FOR DAYS.

There are a few things to check to the address ink not dry on photo with your Envy 4520 printer paper:

    • Make sure that the correct Photo paper type is selected in the driver paper/quality tab.  If you are printing on Photo paper with selected plain paper it does not correctly ink and black areas not dry not properly.
    • Make sure that the photo paper you are using is designed for inkjet printing.  Unless the photo paper has the coatings suitable for inkjet printing it will not dry not properly.
    • Make sure that you print on the right side of the photo paper.
  • which uses less ink, best quick scratch paper or photo paper.

Which uses less ink, best quick scratch paper or photo paper.  I don't mean quality, a little less of ink used.  I also used photo paper, then selected the fast project of plain paper.  Not great quality, as expected, but always looking to use less ink.  My guess is that the paper uses more because it is more porous. My printer is a hp Deskjet 2050.  My OS is 64-bit Intel Core I-7-2670 QM.

    Thanks for any help

    emt1d

Plain paper settings use less ink, inkjet paper selection will use more and photo paper will use the most.  Draft mode uses generally about half Normal or best mode ink.  Normal and best modes use about the same amount of ink (although best mode takes more time to print and passes).

There are a few other considerations to minimize consumption of ink:

    • Don't run don't not cleaning cycles from the Toolbox unless needed (rarely).  Beyond the normal start and stop of ink cleaning cycles use cycles and shortens the life of supply and the printer.
    • Always keep the printer plugged in to an outlet.  Using an external symbol tilt like a switch taken or master switch will cause the printer to use more ink at startup.  It can also leave the printheads to be left not clipped, allowing them to dry out.
  • When I print color photos I get lines across the photo paper. HP Officejet 6500 Windows 7 32 bit

OfficeJet 6500 - when I print photos I spend lines horizonal photo paper. I tried to clean the heads of printer without result.

    Hi franmay,

There are several causes for this problem. Here's a great article that should help you narrow down the cause and resolve the problem:

  • Printer Officejet 6500 misses the beginning of photography on thick photo paper

I have an all-in-one officejet 6500 (E709a). My office is running Win7. I felt for a year or two and initially he printed on paper photo well, but he does NO more.

I use a kirkland photo paper, professional glossy inkjet paper, and it says on the box of paper in that it is 69 lb 255 g/m2, 10.4 mil 8.5x11. From what I could read in the HP specifications, 255 g/m2 is supported (I think I saw it supports up to 260 or above), but has not seen a specification for the thickness. In any case, at the beginning, when it was new - it worked. Now, it's bad causign.

\When I print a pidcture, say printing full page and I remplir fill in the printer menu, select "printing photos with white frame" the size of the paper, mentio0n it of "another photo book" and ask for the 'best' quality, and I put a (also tried to put more) page, sometimes it won't pull the paper in all, and sometimes it starts pulling on the paper after the head already done a few scans which means that the image loses almost a full inch of his debut.

What can I do? of course, work with plain paper I have no problem, and if I go to 'best' to normal, my success rate is improving but is still far from perfect.

Y at - it cleaning to do? some rolls must be replaced? or what? It is VERY frustrating that the printer cannot handle these quality papers as it should!

    Help...

    Thank you

New N911A will not feed paper tray default photo. It gives an out of paper message. Regular paper feeds very well. The optional feeder is not installed (I have not). This is HP Advanced Photo paper (66lb/10.5 mil, sense of self)

Just got off the phone with HP... my printer BRAND NEW so... Remove the tray paper... tip top printer has left... using a clean t-shirt... Clean the gray rubber roll... a little... hard paper will feed properly...

  • Officejet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 will grab not photo paper

I bought HP printers for decades. The quality took a nose dive. My 8600 will grab not photo paper. My only previous simply stopped printing using all colors... it looked like version a printer a ransom note. I won't buy HP again. It is too bad HP sold me 80 lb paper then their printers do not print it. I spent hours on it and am VERY frustrated. I have in my office purchase 3 8600 s and they all have the same problems (more). Shame on you HP.

    Hello

HP Officejet Pro 8600 support up to 66 lb bond paper, the paper you use is too thick and not compatible with the printer.

Below, you can find specifications of paper, check paper tray capabilities that list of all media supported for Tray 1:
