  • How to connect to Oracle XE have SysDBA using VS 2008?

    Hello, I tried to connect to Oracle XE using VS 2008 by using the version of two drivers:

    (1) version (installed with Oracle XE) 10.2.0.100
    (2) version 2.5.7 (installed with odp.net [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html])

    using both, I have the same exception...

    Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException provider is not compatible with the version of the Oracle client

    What's wrong???

    TKS for your help.

    If you are using VS 2008, I advise to use the last available ODP.NET, 11.1.0.6.20. There was a difficulty added to the 10.2.0.4 release and above that best ensures you won't see the error "provider is not compatible with the version of the Oracle Client." Using one of these newer versions will probably solve this specific problem.

    I don't know what version 2.5.7 designates.

  • Format of the connection string to connect to Oracle DB via LDAP

    This isn't how you use LDAP for Oracle name resolution.

    You must configure the LDAP protocol. ORA and SQLNET. ORA files properly.

    For example, you can review the LDAP protocol. Documentation of ORA here:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/network.112/e10835/LDAP.htm#i500397

    And the SQLNET. Documentation of ORA here:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/network.112/e10835/SQLNET.htm#i500318

    A quick search on the terms "example of oracle ldap.ora", shot to the top of several examples.

    Also, if these are real values that you posted in your example of a connection string, you can change.

Suppose that I'll give the wrong password or username, I need to capture this error in 1file and send the error details to our dba teams mail identification. • not able to connect to the database using the oracle instant client

    Hello

    I am not able to connect to the database using the instant oracle from my local PC client. They use to connect to the database files and sqlnet.ora files LDAP.ora. If I want to test the connection, I found this executable tns wasn't there, so not able to tnsping. So I'm not able to solve this problem.

    Please let me know if a solution for everything

    Client Oracle: oracle 10.2bFAT client 32-bit

    Platform: windows 7 64-bit

    Thank you
    Veera

    There is little that tnsping can do sqlplus can't.

    Instead of
    tnsping mydb.myorg.com
    Try
    sqlplus-s-L /@mydb.myorg.com
    or
    sqlplus-s-L user/[email protected]

    If you get
    ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    you know that the customer could not resolve 'mydb.myorg.com '.

    If you get
    ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
    then "mydb.myorg.com" could be resolved, but there is no listener it running.

    If you get
    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor
    then "mydb.myorg.com" could be solved, the listener is in place, and the database is out of service.

    If you get

    you know that 'mydb.myorg.com' has been successfully resolved, and the database is running.

    If you want more details, such as how and what "mydb.myorg.com" is resolved, turn the tracking by adding the following to "sqlnet.ora:
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT = ADMIN
    TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = C:\TEMP (a writable directory)

    Then you will find lines like this in the trace file:

    -THE INFORMATION SOURCE PARAMETER FOLLOWS-
    Attempt to load system pfile source C:\oracle\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
    Source of the setting successfully loaded

    Attempt to load the local pfile source C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\lanadvall\sqlnet.ora
    The parameter source has not been loaded.

    This shows you which configuration files are read, followed by the settings real read.

  • How to connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Database Control have SYSDBA?

    Hello

    I installed Oracle 10.2.0 (Enterprise Edition) on my laptop at home. And with SQL * Plus, I login as sys and created a user Charles (with the password pwd), and I granted the DBA role to this user. SQL * more messages saying that the user has been created and the role (the DBA role has been granted). When I log on to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user) as usual (in the 'Connect as' drop-down), I check that the Charles user has DBA profile. My problem is that when I try to connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the pwd password that I gave to the creation of the user) and as SYSBA+, one error message is displayed: your user name and/or password is not valid.
    Please, how do I connect to to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user), but as SYSDBA?

    Thanks in advance for your answers.

  • User who do I use to connect to Oracle Portal?

    Hi all.

    I'm new in the portal and like to connect to Oracle Portal. Is my Application Server 10 g (10.1.2).

    I am trying to connect using my address http://caribe:7778 / pls/Portal/Portal. On this page, I'm supposed to connect to the database. User who should I use?

    I see there are several pre created accounts linked to the Portal:

    USERNAME ACCOUNT_STATUS
    ------------------------------ ------------------------------
    GATE OPEN
    OPEN PORTAL_DEMO
    OPEN PORTAL_PUBLIC
    OPEN PORTAL_APP
    DCM OPEN

    Which user do I use? I have lessons available portals to the obe.

    Thanks in advance...!

    In Oracle Portal, users are not users of the database. They are called light users and are defined in the server of unique access code.

    You can use the Portal accounts or sleep to connect. Note that this portal is not the same as the portal user database. The password for the portal and sleep is the same as your ias_admin password.

    You can create new accounts in the application oiddas: http://:/oiddas. Replace and with the name of the server and port of your infrastructure.

  • Oracle connection to MPE/IX using MINISOFT

    Hi all

    Hope someone can help with this hereditary problem.

    Old system: 32-bit Windows server 2003.
    Old DB: 10.2.0.2

    Current system: Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.
    EDIT: current DB: 10.2.0.5

    Needed to connect to Oracle 11 g / Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit download HP3000 MPE/IX before data from the old system is stopped for good. Server Admin claimed it has installed MINISOFT 32-bit drivers and have created the system DSN.
    I believe that the old system connects via ODBC heterogeneous, because I found http://www.easysoft.com/applications/oracle/hsodbc.html and one of the steps shown the configuration in iniths*.ora. The old system has not been configured.

    Anyone who is familiar with these connections? I tried to follow http://www.easysoft.com/applications/oracle/hsodbc.html but fall into problems of connections.

    (1) more, I do not understand how it relates to MINISOFT - there is a whole folder of connections and schema files, specifying the table structures in XML file extensions. I can't find anything to www.minisoft.com

    (2) I get errors ORA-28545: error diagnosed by Net8 when connecting to an agent cannot retrieve the text of the NETWORK/NCR 65535 ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of on the connection of database in EM test.

    Hello
    Yes, the ODBC driver must also be 64-bit to work with the 64-bit DG4ODBC.

  • Cannot connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager Express

    I downloaded image database Oracle Developer days 12 c virtualbox. I can start and access the desktop. When I try to log in to Enterprise Manager (EM) Express by using the URL http://127.0.0.1:8888 / em , ask me to install Adobe Flash. I set up and access the login screen.

    I checked that I can connect with the SYSTEM and the SYS user in SQLPLUS.

    When I try to log on as user SYS in EM Express I get a strange error: security token does not match. You have to login again...

    enter image description here

    The same happends if I login as user SYSTEM.

    To me, it looks like for SYS credentials are OK, but there is something wrong with the user in the database. Is that correct and if so, how can I solve this? Or EM Express is simply no installation on the image?

    Not able to connect to the database using Oracle EM Express database using firefox. "The security token does not match. You need to sign in again. "(Doc ID 1968763.1)

  • Java class to connect to Oracle Database Express Edition11g and URL

    Can I use Oracle SQL Developer to do or use it as the value of the URL for the host name?

    I'm just starting to learn Java and with it, learn how to use the Oracle Database Express Edition11g and with it the Oracle SQL Developer...

    At this point, I have the Express Edition is installed and the SQL Developer installed and were able to establish a connection and to run a query and get a result.

    I use Eclipse for JAVA.  I have a work of class that performs a query on a database/table in MySQL.

    So now I'm eager to make the same use as the database Oracle Database Express Edition11g engine.

    And this means that two different versions of JAVA that I need to get the right to be able to do.

    The first is the value of the url variable.

    I now like

    String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost";

    then

    Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");

    and then

    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection (url);

    The thing I'm puzzled on is in the URL where I 'localhost' was supposed to be the term generic and not so much as the text, you should use.

    I see in Web sites like 3 connection to Oracle Database XE

    and decrease example 3-2 by specifying the URL of database using the XE Client Setup

    There I see

    JDBC:driver_type: [username/password] @[//]host_name[: port] [XE]]

    And just what is and what is not is explained here.  So what I ended up with was

    String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost";

    So if it was just a text to rest for a name I wonder just such a value or name might really where.

    I noticed that view that an app called "Oracle JDeveloper" has been used to create the values.   I don't have such a thing, or at least I don't think I do.

    Do I need?

    I have Oracle SQL DEVELOPER, where I used the following to connect to the database of the XE.

    My choice for Oracle's SQL Developer Help

    Name of connection: Connection1

    User name: Rod

    Password: myOracle11

    Host name: localhost

    Port: 1521, which is the default value

    SID: xe

    Above so I have to host name set to localhost

    Can I use Oracle SQL Developer to do or use it as the value of the URL for the host name?

    1. I do nothing

    2. While wouldn't you say it

    3. no results from the earlier assignment.

    I asked "'can I use Oracle SQL Developer to do or use it as the value of the URL for the host name?" "

    I showed the choice that I used in SQL Developer to connect to the schema.  And I was wondering, now that I had done this case those are the values that I could use in the Java class that I wrote.  The web site in the first post of this thread showed connection but he was using JDeveloper and SQL Developer.

    So I was wondering if the connection that I made using SQL Developer would do the same trick, and if I could use the values I did there.

    I'm happy to announce that YES, The values used to connect using SQL Developer work exactly like JDeveloper.

    So, given that in SQL Developer for Hostname I chose the value "localhost" "Rod" Username and password "myOracle11".

    I did the following JAVA CLASS that worked:

    package VC_2_9;

    Java for COBOL - copyright 1999 Doke & Hardgrave programmer

    import java.sql. *;

    public class DataBaseDemoOracle

    {

    Public Shared Sub main (string args [])

    {

    String CUST_LAST_NAME;

    / * String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost/visualcafe";                     */

    String url = "JDBC: thin: @localhost';"

    / * String sqlQuery = "SELECT Name, SSNo, address, telephone OF THE customer;    */

    String sqlQuery = "SELECT CUST_LAST_NAME FROM DEMO_CUSTOMERS";

    //                                               |||||||||||||||

    Try

    {

    Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");

    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection (url, "Rod","myOracle11" ");

    Statement statement = aConnection.createStatement ();

    ResultSet rs = aStatement.executeQuery (sqlQuery);

    Boolean more = rs.next ();

    (more)

    {

    CUST_LAST_NAME = rs.getString (1);

    /* */

    System.out.println ("name:" + CUST_LAST_NAME);

    more = rs.next ();

    }

    RS. Close();

    aStatement.close ();

    aConnection.close ();

    }

    catch (ClassNotFoundException e)

    {System.out.println ("Exception caught" + e) ;}}

    catch (SQLException e)

    {If (e! = null)}

    {System.out.println ("SQLException taking" + e);}

    e = e.getNextException ();

    } / / end of while loop

    } / / end of capture

    } / / main end

    } / / end DataBaseDemoOracle.java

  • How to connect to the user: virtue in sqldeveloper sysdba system? I know how in sqlplus.

    I was wondering how you do it using the wizard/interface to specify the configurations for a NEW connection.

    It comes as I get b/c I don't know where or how put '\as sysdba' in the NEW connection, that I am creating with success.  I can do very well with just to connect to the user: System, but not sysdba \as!

    Login name: system_connection_as_sysdba

    Username: System

    Password: [password here]

    Host name: Localhost

    Port: 1521

    SID: orcl

    Developer SQL has a drop down separate called 'Role', where you can select SYSDBA instead of default.
