Connecting the device to 6.0 PSC using the FRIEND?

Hey there,

I can't seem to find a definitive answer in the support section, so I throw this out there...

I need to patch our device PSC 6.0 (and vCenter device accordingly) of the U1 6.0.0 to 6.0.0 U2 and I was wondering if I can install this upgrade using the Interface of Management Appliance (FRIEND)?

I can connect to the PSC using the FRIEND and I see the update is available, but it say anywhere that I can use it to run the upgrade - only through the Shell of what I read.

Note: when it comes to upgrading vCenter 6.0 device, the documentation says you can use the FRIEND for this.

Yes, I read that too.

Just to confirm - I indeed used the FRIEND to update my PSC first, then the VCSA, of 6.0 U1 to 6.0 U2.

Access the FRIEND via the URL:

https://[PSC IP]: 5480

https://[VCSA IP]: 5480

With the help of "root" as user name and corresponding password.

Everything is good!

Just in case it helps others - I found that if I make sure that my XP PC has a fixed IP address, and then set up the shares so that they are defined using the IP address and not share names, then I do have more problems - seems like it's something to do with Windows solve the share names rather than something to do with the personal firewall after all.

  • Portege M800-106 the system freezes when I connect a device via USB

When I connect a device through a USB port, the system hangs. This happened with any device even something that has been used before. Example - if I turn on the printer /plug in my Blackberry to synchronize the .laptop just going so slow that I have to do a reboot with the devices still connected to get the system working again. Running Vista. Any help please?

    Hello

You see yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager? Maybe a driver isn't installed properly in the system freezes.
In addition, I would try to remove the USB ports in Device Manager. After this restart your laptop and USB ports will be recognized again.

Have you tried a BIOS update? If this isn't the case, you should do it. Before you begin the update, close all running programs and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

Last but not least try to reinstall Windows using the Toshiba recovery disc. It only takes a few minutes and then you have settings to factory again! :)

  • Qosmio G30: Can I use component video software plug-in to connect the Gamecube or PS2?

The Qosmio G30 has a VIDEO-IN bit for the red/white/yellow wires... So I wondered if this meant that I could connect my PS2/Gamecube/similar to television, playing games on my laptop, save me money when I move to College :)

Indeed, if I pretend that I'll put up a set - top box for the TELEVISION, the Gamecube appears under "Video Composite", I just can't save like a channel or anything at this point...

Someone help? Would be very grateful...
    Thankee.

    Hello
The s-video-in port can be used to connect and to import data from the external device such as an analog video camera or VCR. Imported video can be edited or written on a DVD disc.
Video port can be used to connect the external device such as a game console

I think you should also consult the user manual because you will find the full description on unique ports and use.

I use windows vista home premium II edition and I would like to know if it is possible to view each program, material, device, etc., which is connected to the internet at the same time on my pc and I can vew all in the same window screen?

    Hello nephew0117,

Unfortunately, there is no tool that would give you a report on what programs are using Internet connection on your computer.

None of the devices use the Internet connection on the computer if you connect external devices.

You can check the task manager that will give you information about what programs are running and you can check what programs use the Internet.

You can also look for some third-party programs that will help you monitor it. You can use your favorite search engine to find it.

    Hello

I have HP deskjet F380 printer

and my operating system is Windows Vista Home Basic

So I installed the driver that is compatible with Vista from the HP Web site, and it works. But I have still a problem which is the name of the printer does not appear when I want to print something until I connect the cable. And whenever I connect the cable from the printer, it starts to install the device again.

    I need your help!

    Thanks in advance

Need, what you say, it seems that you disconnect the printer after each use.  If so, the reason that Vista installed.  It is a new device.  Leave connected will eliminate this problem.  If you have not done so, once it is connected, make it the default printer.  This may solve your problem.

  • Cannot print/connection of Windows 7 for shared PSC 1315 on the XP Machine

I have a HP PSC 1315, connected to a computer running Windows XP (32 bit).  This printer is shared.  I can access it from other XP machines on my home network.  I can't access it from my computer Windows 7 (64-bit).  I can see the printer is shared on the computer, but when I double click on it, I get the following error:

"Windows can't find a driver for hp PSC 1310 series on the network."  To locate one manually, click on OK.  Otherwise, click Cancel and consult your network administrator or the printer manufacturer's Web site. »

Then I tried to download the driver Windows 7 (64 bit) of HP and installed on my Windows 7 machine:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=Al-75052-1&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=CA&...

At the end of the installation, it asks to connect the printer to the computer via USB.  Because I'm not physically the printer connected to the Windows 7 computer, I check the box that says I can't login now and go forward at the end.

Then I tried to connect to the printer and I get the same error.  I try to locate a driver manually.  I point to c:\windows\inf\ without success (I am * if * the driver info might settle there, but I don't know what the name of .inf).  Windows says that it cannot find an appropriate driver.  Maybe I should be looking elsewhere?

I found some troubleshooters on the HP website, but it does not give "shared printer on a network" as one of the schemes to solve connection problems.

I'm a little confused on this one.  Hoping that there will be something simple, I missed.

    Thank you!

Here's a good explanation of how to share a printer from an XP PC to Windows 7 PC on a network home.  It should work since Windows 7 (64-bit) PC can see the partition Windows XP 32-bit.  What you missed was the type of port to use for the network connection.

  • Connect the NAS (iSCSI) to vSphere using the crossover Ethernet cable

    Hello

I have a HP Proliant DL360 G5 in a data center (housing) directly connected to the internet. To save all the VM I would fix a NAS (QNAP with iSCSI) on the server. But given that the server is connected only to a 100 Mbps switch (supplier provide only 100 Mbit) I am looking for a direct solution to enjoy better performance.

I use on my Proliant Server internal dual port NIC (VMNIC0 and VMNIC1) and an additional port of double NC360T NIC (VMNIC2 and VMNIC3). I made two switches, with VMNIC0 and VMNIC2 vSwitch0 and vSwitch1 with VMNIC1 and VMNIC3 for redundancy. Each vSwitch has its own service with the public IP console.

Because I would like to continue using the above configuration, it came into my mind to buy an additional network (NC110T with 1 NIC) of the card and use a crossover cable directly to QNAP NAS. The NAS has two NIC, we'll be fixed as said to the ESX and directly to the internet (to manage from outside).

But now I don't know how to configure it. What should I do that the ESX will intervene to the NAS, and what type of IP address I need to adjust on the NAS to talk to the ESX?

What I have to configure a vSwitch2 (with physical adapter NC110T) and a new Console of Service with a private IP address: for example. 192.168.1.1 and the card NETWORK NAS Port that connects to the ESX, I put 192.168.1.2 and then it should be possible to work with ISCSI? I can then add the storage in vSphere?

I would really appreciate if someone understands perfectly how such things can give me an advice!

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Phil

It sounds like a good plan and you have the process down to the right.

    • After the installation of the new card as you did for the first configuration, you should see additional network cards.

      • You create a new vSwitch for the internal network segment that connects the NAS and ESX you note and add these network adapters

      • Then you create the port console and IP address on the private network

    • Now both devices may be

    • In QNAP, you create your iSCSI target or your NFS volume

    • For iSCSI you go to storage adapters - properties - add the ip address of the NAS and then close and discover

      • This should find the paths of the target.

      • Then you go into storage and add and format the iSCSI volume

    • For NFS, you go straight to the storage and add the name address and NAS volume and turn up the volume of storage

All storage will be visible and usable by ESX.

Tried to connect the new (launched in July 2016) Apple Remote app, I'm not able to add the Apple Tv from my iphone (5 c), because it does not show apple tv to connect even on the same wifi. I use the latest os on iphone and TVos 9.3.3.

9.3.3 isn't the latest version of the software for your phone or your Apple TV.

Try the following steps for the Apple TV 4, check if things work after each step if necessary, before you try the next.

    1. Restart the Apple TV (settings > system > restart).
    2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL cables for 30 seconds.
    3. Restart your router. (Also try to remove the power cord for at least 30 seconds)
