If I connect my laptop to the modem setting will this result in the use of the minuets of plan?

My ATT & T plan includes the use of the internet.

Connect your BB to your laptop for internet use will not result in the use of the minute.  Although it does not require a feature different than the standard data of BB.  You need to add data BlackBerry + Tethering.  It's more expensive.

  • Connection to Internet of blackBerry Smartphones

    Hi, I have a blackberry 8520

I live in China and I use China unicom as a service provider...

I installed gprs/edge and it is still tiny "edge" "gprs".

Often the phone just loses its internet connection but the edge/gprs is always visible in the upper right.

I have to do a battery pull and when it restarts internet works again!

Is there an easier way to re establish my connection? I have tried turing the mobile connection on and outside, but not train... only the work of battery pull.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

If your phone displays gprs and edge in lowercase then it sounds as if your phone is not properly configured. Do you have a data plan blackberry rather than a standard carrier data plan?

  • Connections slow UDP of blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

I'm building a client/server UDP application similar to the UDP demo which comes with the 9530 Simulator: http://www.blackberry.com/go/udpsample.  This example works fine.  However, at my request, the Simulator sends a UDP message to the server and it is very well run, but when the server sends a message beck to the Simulator, there is a problem.  As far as I can see, the UDP datagram is sent by the server, but the Simulator/client is blocked on the "[UDPDatagramConnection] .receive ([Datagram]) ' command.  It sits there for about 10 seconds, and then must expire or something.  It then responds with the message well received, and all is well.  As far as I can see, no information has been received at the end of this period of 10 seconds, so I guess that is not the problem of the server.  If everything works fine, except this time of 10 seconds.  Of course, since the source code of this function is not provided by RIM, it is impossible to get the debugger in there to see what he's stuck on.  Are there known issues with UDP connections being slow to receive an incoming connection?  Again, my setup is very similar to the example provided by RIM.

Well, I think that I thought about it.  In my application, I have a main thread running, and the UDP connection is in thread side.  The main thread uses a

    While (udpThreadHasNotFinished & timeout.isAlive ())

instruction to wait than the thread of the UDP at the end of its activities.  It seems that the main thread is blocked somehow the

    [UDPDatagramConnection] .receive)

command in the thread of the UDP with the statement 'all'; as soon as the time-out period has expired, the almost finished UDP thread immediately.    This is perhaps due to priorities of the threads or something; I'm not sure.

In the end, I used a

    UDPThread.join ();

command in the main thread instead of the command 'everything '.  This makes the main thread wait that the UDP thread to terminate before it proceeds.  RIM too bad decided not to include the function of time-out on the command "join!"

  • Network connections of Mobile My blackBerry Smartphones keeps cutting

When I go to compose a message to test he told me s radio. I go to the application of connection management and he said that the Mobile network is turned off. I can activate backl but there is not. How can I fix?

Ahhh... it's very important. Low breakage (1xev) means that your BB sees the network, but is not connected. Only when you have all uppercase (1XEV) you have full connectivity to your corporate network. If you are in the Association? If so, try this:

    Dial * 228, select Option 1

Dial * 228 again once, select Option 2

If you are not on VZW, then pass it because I do not know the codes to any other carrier for this.

Reboot your BB exactly in this way:

With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.

If you do not yet have all uppercase 1XEV, try this:

Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (no matter what line is highlighted) BBKey > sign up now

Once you receive the registration message, recheck the 1XEV. If not yet all capital letters, call your operator that something is not right on their end.

  • «Connected permanently on desktop» blackBerry smartphones

I have a BB 8300 which has worked well for months.

Well, to tell you the truth, I think I have disconnected it by chance when it is synchronized with MS Outlock.

Now when I try to syn with Desktop Manager, he found the BB device, begin synchronization, but the message * used * to read something like "read-10 record of 20.  Now, it reads "reading %1! s! of %1s! "type stuff.  Then Desktop Manager creates an error message page, which says error and stops in DM, send an error report.

After that, the Blackberry remains "Attached to the device" screen for a long time.  Once completed, no Outlook calendar item is transferred.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help!

    Man-

    Thank you very much!

Which I tried and it worked!  I always get the gobblety-goop on the screen as it is taking place, but the process works.

    Thanks again.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Media Sync continues to display 'Please connect a Blackberry smart phone' when the Blackberry Storm is connected to the PC

About a 2 months ago when I would like to connect my (the first storm) blackberry storm to my computer via the USB cable supplied with the phone, I was able to transfer music from my computer (itunes) to the blackberry via Blackberry Media Sync with no problems (open Blackberry Media Sync, connect blackberry to the computer via the USB port and screen Media Sync would change so that I could sync to the blackberry storm music). I didn't even have to install Blackberry Media Sync in December 2009

But now after I connect my Blackberry Storm to my computer, the screen of Blackberry Media Sync does not change and continues to display "please connect a Blackberry smartphone. I tried these tips I found online:

1.) several reboots my computer (windows vista)

2.) update/reinstall Blackberry Media Sync, then by restarting my computer

3.) reconnection from blackberry to the computer, then open Media Sync

4.) Open Media Sync first and then connect the blackberry to the computer.

5.) installation BlackBerry USB and Modem drivers (even if I can't find the USB driver for it under the Universal Serial Bus Controller when I check in the Device Manager when you go to control panel – system and Maintenance – Manager of devices, but I found a v2 COM4 and COM5 RIM virtual serial Port when you select "devices by connection" under display in Device Manager) or are RIM Serial Port virtual v2 COM4 and COM5 drivers I'm looking for?

6.) go to Options (on blackberry) - memory and make sure Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol (MTO) and Mass Storage Mode Support are resolved on 'On', the encryption Mode is set to 'None' and mass storage Mode Auto activate when connected, it the value "Prompt" although I tried to 'Yes' as well. It says I have 785 MB of memory space of the unit out of 879 MB total memory of the device and 7.1 GB of free space on a total of 7.3 GB of Media Card Media Card.

None of the above tips and troubleshooting tips worked. I also checked the Blackberry technical solution center but I've not found anything there that has contributed to the other. I found discussions forums online, including issues of people with 'blackberry media sync cannot connect to the device' pop up, but I have not had this pop-up. The Media Sync screen remains just the same as if I never connected the blackberry storm to my computer in the first place even if my blackberry storm recharges via the computer.

Is there something that I miss or have not yet done? What should I do?

Too bad. I went to a Verizon store and they me remove the battery and turn the blackberry. Worked like a charm and I can now use Media Sync.

Also told me that I need to update the software of the phone blackberry using Blackberry Desktop software (I have version 4 and need to update to 5) and make sure to choose to back up files when you are prompted during the update or you will lose all files, the media and info saved on blackberry.
