  We currently know two scenarios in which Acrobat abnormally end when you click Preview the output, or already in the output window, both under MacOS 10.x. We are not aware of the problem ever occurring under any Windows operating system version.

  Scenario #1 - PDF file has a mode of RGB output such as a PDF/A file created with an sRGB output mode (the default). In this case, simply by clicking on the release preview will immediately cause Acrobat to terminate abnormally.

  Scenario #2 - the PDF has no intention of output or an intention to output CMYK (typically for PDF / X files). If you open a preview of the output, see you the preview window of output without any problem. However, if you try to change the profile of Simulation of the current CMYK profile to any profile RGB, Acrobat, abnormally terminates.

  The good news is that we found the source of the problem and internally fixed it; the fix will appear in the first maintenance release of Acrobat DC.

If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.

  If this does not work and it started recently, try a system restore to a restore point BEFORE the problem started.  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html.   Unfortunately, in my initial work and testing with that as of today, this problem is not resolved and the same interruption occurs.  During the test I have other applications disabled, no internet connection and no firewall/antivirus program running (mechanic system).
