Connection problems in presentation Services - dashboards & responses

Hi all

I'm a new user who is trying to follow the tutorial OBE for self-study.

I have a laptop Windows 7.0 I have installed:
Oracle 10.2.0.1 database + Client
OBIEE 10.1.3.4
JDK 1.6.0_4

As a result of the tutorial OBE, the installation went through without any problems including OC4j.

I can connect to the Administration using Administrator/administrator.

I have ensured that all services were restarted:
Oracle BI Java host
Oracle BI presentation services
Oracle BI Server
OC4J began

However, when I try to connect to the Referral Services the following happens:

The URL is http://laptop_name:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard

I have the of the OBI Administrator/administrator login page.
I enter the page of interactive dashboards. So far so good.

However, as soon as I press on one of the links I find back to the OBI login page.
Example 1 I click on the link to answers and it returns me to the OBI with this URL login page: http://laptop_name:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Answers & _scid = cS0HaZqrGJk
I enter Administrator/Administrator and get a page that says:
Not connected
You are not already connected to the Oracle BI server.
If you have already logged in, your login may have expired, or a communication or a server error occurred.

E.g.2 I re-login to presentation Services and click on the "it's an empty dashboard Page. "Click here to add content" link it returns me to the OBI with this URL login page:
http://laptop_name:9704/Analytics/saw.dll?EditDashboard & _scid = fkph * RB * My8 & PortalPath = / Users/Administrator/_portal & page = page % 201 & Done = Dashboard
I get Administrator/Administrator and access the page of the editor dashboard. Here, if I click on dashborads under the saved content I get an error that says:
Unable to communicate with Oracle BI presentation Services. Please make sure you're always connected and try again.

I have performed these steps on the other laptop with the same configurations 7.0 Win and it worked so what's the problem with my system, I even tried OBIEE 10.1.3.4 but get eaxctly the same problem.

So, what I'm missing, any ideas please?

Thank you

Fabien

In Mozilla, you can use localhost instead of the computer name. I think that you have tried that in IE. have you tried using localhost on mozilla?
http://localhost:9704/Analytics/saw.dll?dashboard

You should already have it. When you install Essbase/EIS you also get a bunch of merant drivers installed.

In older versions, you can choose whether or not you wanted to install but they get now installed by default.

Edit: I just checked this link... I'm not sure if this driver will work as I have never used the native drivers or the Merant ones.

  • Change of BI Presentation Services user login

    Hello

I have an app ADF connection to BI Presentation Services sign to display dashboards.

During development, I named the BI Presentation Services as 'PIF' connection with user as User1.

Now, when I change the User2 user, keeping the same connection name as PIF, user name not updated in the atrtribute MBean.

Removal of the existing connection and recreation with new user also did not work. User1 is still displayed.

Any thoughts why am I not able to change the attribute of the SOAP BI connection username.

    Thank you

    Fulgence

I am able to change the user of the Fusion Middleware control.

Area > Security > identifying information, change the login name under your card and update the name of user and password.

Bounce the server on which the application is deployed. The Applciation MBean now shows the User2.

  • Vista problem: "failed to connect to the windows service, Windows cannot connect to the system event.

I have reported this problem on my PC at home that connects to the internet. My laptop runs Vista Home Premium and I can't connect to the internet. I took my laptop on a trip, tried to connect to the wireless network that was free to the place we are. Could not connect, and after this initial test, the following is displayed after the start of "failed to connect to the Windows Service, Windows cannot connect to the system event notification service. This problem prevents limited users to logon to the system. As administratvie user, you can view the system event log to see why the service did not respond. "(have no idea how or what it means) when I go to the task bar you want to connect to a network, it is said:" the dependency service or group could not start"and if I go ahead and press"connect to a network"it says it can't find.  I search for computers on the network (who I'm sitting next to) and then try to diagnose the problem and it cannot. I have limited knowledge of this type of problem. Anyone have this problem and how to fix it?

    Hi ptkein,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

Option 1: You can download and install the latest network card drivers and see if that can solve the problem.

Option 2: Follow the link below to fix network connection problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-network-connection-problems

Option 3: Follow the link below to solve Internet connection problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-Internet-connection-problems

Option 4: To verify if a third party application is a cause, follow this link (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode) for this boot to the desktop using the safe mode with networking option and try to install the network. If the problem is resolved, you will need to perform a clean boot by following the steps in the following article to refine the exact source and isolate it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Let me know if it worked.

    Hope it will be useful.

  • problem connecting to the web services server

I tried to download the latest updates of software/firmware for my all-in-one HP Photosmart Prem C310a.

I can't get updates or activate Web Services because it still gives me the error message "problem connect to the web services server.

I tried everything in the section of the Web of HPs site including connection via WPS - unsucessfully problems.

I understand that you have found impossible to connect to the server error message on your printer. I would first disconnect the router and the printer for about 1 minute. I would plug the router first then the printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful, and you get the same error message. I'd follow these steps.

1 obtain the IP address of your printer
    a. This can be done by pressing the icon on the printer wireless.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the tab network at the top of the page.
    4. on the left, select network.
    5. Select Network (IP) address
    6. select manual DNS server
    a. manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. alternate DNS server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you could get a fair warning select OK.

  • Windows connection problems and "Windows could not log in the Windows Event Service.

September 14, 2014, I installed the hotfix for Windows (KB2590550).

When I try to log on to a standard user account (not Admin), I would get an error that might say something like "Windows could not connect to the Windows Service Service event".  I click OK and then get a totally blank screen showing on the arrow of the mouse (which can be moved).

Around this same time, when I was able to connect, I got a "not genuine Windows" pop up.  My windows 7 came factory-installed by Dell (Dec. 2011) and I got no re-imaging, re - install or repair since I got the computer.  I've also been running Symantec Endpoint Protection (version DoD) for 2011 as well.

When I login as administrator (different account), I get an error "Failed to connect to the Windows Event Service" or something like it in a control bar bubble popup.

I studied the Knowledge Base, and he said to apply the patch to KB2590550.

Since then, the question is still common and works (sometimes) when I reset the password for the standard user.  In addition, all updates of the operating system, patches, etc. have failed since then.

Now, I get occasional blue screens immediately as windows starts to load (just after the initial windows graphics) which triggers a reboot.

    Service Pack 1 is installed.

    Help, please!

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue.

If the problem still persists I suggest to run the SFC scan to check the integrity of the system and see what it finds.

The sfc/scannow (System File Checker) command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

We can check & repair missing and corrupt files by the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
    3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

I chose "Oracle BI Server" as my security model and everything works fine, I had to remove a user, I deleted the user of the RPD, deleted the presentation services user of "Manage presentation catalog users and groups" and restarted services: BI of Oracle server, Oracle server, Oracle Java host, OC4J display.

After the reboot, I am able to log in the presentation and web services Oracle BI Publisher, what I need to do some thing more to restrict access to the deleted users.

  • Error in deployment of OBIEE BI presentation Service on WAS6.1 10.1.3.4.2

    Hello

I'm working on setting up the environment using OBIEE suite version 10.1.3.4.2 on a UNIX system (platform AIX6.1) (which is a remote machine for me).

Installation of OBIEE 10 g suite (all components) on server AIX is over, and never the BI and BI Presentation Server (SP) Server services are running on the system.

IBM WAS6.1 is used as a web application server to connect to the BI presentation from my local Office Server (windows platform 7).

The PS BI and WAS6.1 are installed on the same AIX system. Therefore, the OBIEE_HOME/web/app/WEB-INF/web.xml file has hostname as localhost and port number 9710.

I am facing problem in the WAS6.1 configuration to support BI presentation services. Are steps for the config-
    1. deploy the file analytics.war to OBIEE_HOME/web/option 'Install the new enterprise application' WAS6.1 using administration console.
    2. provided root context is /analytics
    3. departure WAS application server
    4. start OBI Presentation server
    5. access URL: http://nameserver:port/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard - this is the test to the only url provided in the documentation of the OBI.
name server is the host name of the AIX server on which are installed the two BI PS and WAS6.1
Port - this is the HTTP port mentioned in the configuration profile WAS6.1 details. (I do not use 9710 in the url, if it is used, address HTTP 404 - not found error.)

For step 5 above, I get the HTTP 500 error while trying to access this URL.
Error message in the file SystemOut.log in WAS6.1_Profile_home/logs/server1/ is like below.

Can someone please help in understanding and the resolution of this error, but also the configuration of BI PS. Thank you.

    Hi Shweta,

By default, OBIEE 10 g gets deployed on the oc4j coming. So, now that you've started oc4j already, only access it with http://: 9704/Analytics, as in the case of WAS6.1

In addition, could check if WAS 6.1 is supported with 10g.2? I remember 10g.1 is not compatible.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you
    Diakité

  • SSO Presentation Services does not start

    Hi all

I'm currently implementing SSO in the windows environment. I followed the stets as provided in the deployment guide.

    1. create the Replicator user: success
    2. credentials look-alike user was added to the credential store: success
3 configured Oracle BI Presentation Services to identify the store of credentials: success
4 but when I configure the instanceconfig.xml file to run in a SINGLE authentication mode, presentation Services does not start.

This is the code that was added to the instanceconfig.xml < ServerInstance > article

    < Auth >
    < SSO enabled = "true" >
    < ParamList >
< Param name = 'seem the IDENTITY '.
    source = "serverVariable.
    nameInSource = "REMOTE_USER" / >
    < / ParamList >
    < / SSO >
    < / Auth >

Please note this point 3 i.e. adding credentials to the instanceconfig.xml file presentation services is restartnig.it, it's only when I add to the foregoing code it fails.

The system error I get is
"The Oracle BI Presentation Server service stopped with error 4294967295 (0xFFFFFFFF) special service."

    Kind regards
    Bla

The problem has been resolved. I tried different combinations to copy paste and several reboots of the Referral Services to make it work.

Can I get my points now? :-)

Again my understanding is that after you have configured the details below, I should be able to bypass the authentication process (OBIEE login screen) and see the
Dashboard directly when I switch on the connection URL. But in my case it is not the case because I put the credentials once again.
Is there anything else I need to configure. Just trying to make single sign with Windows so when the user logs on to Windows desktop
and passes the URL to see the OBIEE dashboards.

Your understanding is wrong, but I suggest that to start a new thread as this if a different issue that is completely different from that described in this thread.

  • Error message: "unable to connect to a windows service windows could not connect to the system event." Unable to connect to the network, Windows Vista Home Edition

    Hello

When I start my laptop there is a long pause between the home screen and the cover page of my office where the message "unable to connect to a windows service windows has no can connect to the system event. I am unable to connect to networks as says "the dependecy service or group could start. I checked some of the solutions to this problem, including the execution of the 'netsh reset winstock' program that did not work. Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you.

    Hello

It would be a good idea to run the System File Checker tool to see if you have corrupted files

"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    And Malware scan:

Search for malware, if necessary using the safe mode with networking.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:
