  I have a vCenter computer vSphere virtual running Windows 2008 R2 that hosts multiple virtual machines of different operating systems on several different network VLAN (100, 200, 300, etc.). I would like to be able to run a command from a guest VM running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 say vCenter to change the settings of a network adapter VLAN to another and vice versa. I did a lot of studying, but I could not find a way to do it. The closest thing I found what I'm looking for are the commands below, but they do not work.

  ReadVariable command seems to run, but produces 0 bytes of data, and the writeVariable command gives an error message indicating that the operation is not supported. Vmrun can perform a switch between the virtual computer network connections or do I need to use a different approach? The reason that I need to have a command to run instead of just go into the configuration of the VM guest in vCenter and selecting only the network personalized the menu drop-down is so that development and the test team can run a script will instead given administrator privileges.

  vmrun (and VIX) won't let you do what you're trying to do.  Nothing don't pay attention to these variables being changed.  You will need to use an API that reconfigures the virtual machine networks, which probably means writing code using an API of vSphere.

  Before setting a supervisor password load default settings in the BIOS and then you can set the password and try again. Maybe it works.

  Hello, I looked through a number of positions on the definition of default printer in a Mac, but nothing solve my specific problem. I recently spent a PC to a MacBook Pro, just updated to Mountain Lion and installed my printer wireless, HP Deskjet F4500 Series, with the pilot chosen by my computer. The printer-computer connection usually works, but when I go into the CUPS and change the default settings for Fast Draft, n/b only, it does not apply when I print. I tried several times, making sure to save my default settings in CUPS (and indeed they appear here as Fast project, b & w only), but no matter which application print from - Safari, Chrome, text edit, etc.. - it prints in color and normal mode unless I manually selects the settings for that particular print job. This is especially a problem when printing things that are not pop up a print dialog, such as online coupons. I could easily change the settings of the default printer on my laptop and they apply to coupon print as well, but I'm having no luck with the Mac. Help, please! Thank you!

  Finally I got it solved!

  There are two options in Mountain Lion when you add the printer HP CM1415fn (Apple-> preferences-> Print & Scan system): "AirPrint" and "HP LaserJet CM1410 Series.

  So, with "AirPrint" set default CUPS Options has no effect, even if you change. PPD file.

  Fortunately, with the 'HP LaserJet CM1410 series' setting CUPS the default Options works well!

• Cannot view or change the settings of backup - error Code 0 x 80070422

  I am able to run a backup using the existing settings/settings I put when my system was new two years ago.  I just ran a backup and finished without any problems.  But when I click on "Change settings" to view the settings, I get the error code 0 x 80070422.  Error message States "the backup application could not start due to an internal error" followed by "the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices is associated to him.

  I already read many posts on this site about this error and how to correct.  I followed the suggested steps to fix the problem, but the error persists. =(

  Specifically, I checked that the following Services are enabled.

  -"Remote Procedure Call" (RPCSS) must be active, Automatic.

  'COM + Event System"(EventSystem) must be active, Manual.

  -'System Event Notification Service"(SENSE) must be active, Automatic.

  -"Volume Shadow Copy" (VSS) must be active, Manual.

  'Microsoft Software Shadow Copy provider' (SWPRV) must be active, Manual.

  I also ran an SFC scan and received the following confirmation at the end-

  "Windows resource protection has not found any breach of integrity."

  Any suggestions on the next steps, I could try to fix this?

  However, we are still missing about two or three services so that this error happens when the necessary services are disabled.

  Method 1: Please check these services.

  • Block level backup engine - active - repair manuals
  • -Active - backup manual Windows

  If the settings above does not work, you can try to adjust Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) on Automatic and check if that helps. Then change it back to Manual after verification.

  Once you make changes according to the above specifications, you can try a backup and check to see if that solves the problem.

  If the problem persists, follow the next method.

  Method 2: Disable the antivirus.

  You can also try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and try to create a backup and check if it works.   For any future reference. Those of us who mess directly with: config soon find out how to get errors and it is wise to backup. Occasionally backup of your entire profile for example can be useful and would probably give you a quick solution of the copy on the file from the backup.

  OK on the topic to try to get Firefox back as it was:
  Find your profile and the prefs.js file and rename that. (The renamed file is a potentially useful backup.) Firefox is then forced to regenerate the file and will reset your default preferences. You can then re open and use Firefox. Then, try to return to normal.

  Try to manually change the file prefs.js is normally a bad idea. However, if this is a one-time change prefs it would be possible to directly edit the prefs.js file (while Firefox is closed) to get everything back to how it was before. You have the file renamed to work with. Probably best to test this in a new additional profile so only break you test additional essential Firefox profiles profiles works do not.
