  Click on the round of Windows (start) > all programs > Accessories and make Windows Explorer right click > properties > Shortcut tab and change the target location box to where you want to open, for example in your case the drive C. type (or change) the c:\ %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe next (note the space) then apply, OK, etc..   HP provide instructions that should get your printer working at least... follow them to the letter...
