  • Unable to connect to the local intranet site now with 40 Firefox on OS 10.10.4, what has changed?

We have a local intranet site and I get in this very well, but go to click on a link that goes to another internal site for our list of phone and it does not ask for my credentials get into the page, it is just straight up with a 401 error, as I entered the wrong credentials. Things were fine with 39.0.3 and I have since then returned to her. Using Firefox 40 on Windows 7, he asked for credentials. I was wondering if there is some sort of bug in the OS X version?

I have not registered and not connected to other windows or tabs already passwords.

Something has changed in Firefox 40, but don't know what. I watched the news of the changes, but haven't seen anything coming out that may have caused this.

If you control the environment, then you could try to operate by affecting network.auth.allow - subresource-auth 2 as proposed in the article.
I know too little about the question of why it would work in a windows environment, but not on os x - it's a bit confusing...

  • Connection to the local network not appearing is not in network connections

A month or so I reinstalled Windows XP SP2 (have since updated to SP3), and ever since then the LAN connection icon does not appear in the network connections window, and even when I plug the ethernet cable it does not automatically turn on the connection to the local network. My wireless connection works perfectly well. I went to the HP website to download all the drivers and also visited if the Device Manager on my computer to make sure that all drivers are in place. Even with all the drivers, it still does not connect to the local network. Help, please!

    Hi rawkous,

Follow the steps listed in this article to resolve the problem:
  • No Internet access, the 'Connect to the Local network' and 'Wireless network connection' are "Local only".

I'm portable computer maintenance of the customer, a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5885, under Vista Home Premium x 86 SP2, with infections by malicious software and internet connection problems. I have managed to get rid of all of its 251 infections and I am now addressing the connectivity problem. I'm unable to achieve on its ethernet or a wireless connection to Internet. The two network status of connections 'Unidentified network', and also ' access: Local only ' all other machines hooked up to my router via CAT5e and some via 802.11 g/n, have excellent speeds with internet connectivity, so I know that the problem is limited to his machine. I tried the following:

Deactivation and reactivation of these two connections: FAIL.

"Diagnose and repair" on the two connections: FAIL.

Under dynamic I.P. type to static/static to the dynamic: FAIL.

Uninstalled all network via Device Manager devices, then restart: FAIL.

Manually uninstalled all the drivers and utility and installed the latest versions: FAIL

  • Connection Internet says 'Local' only and I can't access the internet at my convenience.

I'm not a computer genius, but I know that's not my wireless which is mess up and not allow me to access internet from my laptop.  If I try to access my home, or somewhere else that provides wireless internet, I always have trouble getting.  IF it connects, it shows 'Local' only and not allow me to access the internet.  It seems to do this when I am on the internet while someone else in my household is on it as well.  Which shouldn't be a problem at all.  I should be able to access the internet if someone else uses it or not.  Never had this problem until I got this new laptop with vista.  It lasts for almost a year now and I'm taking classes online and cannot deal with this problem any longer.  Please someone help me solve this ongoing problem that seems to be quite common!

    Hello

Reading between the lines a bit here, it is my understanding...

    1. Never use Ethernet, probably because you don't have broadband for some reason any?
    2. Due to the size of the download, you asked someone else to do it with no broadband?
    3. As a result, which is two screens with a red X icon, but never used to be there?

This icon with the red X is only informative. If you do not use Ethernet then you won't have connected cable, which means that the information you see on "network cable is unplugged" is correct. If you don't like this icon, you can hide...

    • Right-click on an empty part of the taskbar, and then click Properties
    • Click the Notification area
    • You will see a check box for the network, there uncheck and then click OK to hide the icon
    • Reverse this process, if you want to display the icon

Or is your problem you can connect is no longer with dial upward? If this is the case...

    • Click Start, type inetcpl.cpl and press enter
    • Click the Connections tab
    • 'Never make a connection' values? If this is the case, always select "default connection" (or "Number using whenever a network connection is not present")
    • Click OK

  • My connection to the Local network is suddenly missing

    Hello

Suddenly, I found I can't access my LAN port because I can't found the option to connect to the Local network in network and sharing Center. I also looked in Device Manager, but there is also the LAN card is missing. I don't know why it's happening. The only change I made is configured LAN properties as set as--> advanced--> liaison & duplex speed--> 100 Mbit/s/full duplex. Although I don't know if it has nothing to do with my lack of LAN option, but that's the only change that I made before I see my LAN is missing. then I reinstalled my windows 7 with the hope that it will be recovered, but after the installation of a new windows 7 the problem still persists and also I am very sure that my operating system windows 7 is all ok to install all drivers base because I used the same OS disk for countless times.

Kindly help me how to solve this problem, because I can't use any Ethernet connection in my computer.
    Thanks in advance...

The total absence of the adapter is a hardware problem.  Is this a desktop or a laptop? If Office on the motherboard or card adapter?  If it is a laptop or onboard there may be an option to enable / disable in the BIOS which might be worth checking out.

  • Impossible to connect to the wireless network when the wireless Internet is filled to connect to the Local network

I tried to fill the connection between my laptop Wi - Fi and an ethernet cable LAN via the connection to the Local network for my xbox 360. However, when the connections passed the wireless connection would show that it is disconnected and would not reconnect. When I tried to repeat the process sometimes the same thing happens sometimes it says that it is still connected.

However, be that as it may, both times I could not load any page of the website from my laptop and xbox connect any.
How can I create a network bridge and get the wireless internet to connect please?

Any help to fix this would be appreciated,
    P

This Microsoft Knowledge Base article might help: bridge may not work with a Non-Promiscuous Mode network card .

If not, I recommend to delete the network bridge and enable sharing of Internet connection on the wireless network connection. Boulder computer Maven

  • Connected to the local network, but can not use internet

I recently had problems with access to the internet after reinstalling windows 7. Before the reinstall worked very well.

I can connect to the local network without problem, and it shows that the internet is connected. Yet I can not access the internet. When I disconnect and reconnect, I get a few seconds of internet work before it stops working.

When a diagnosis in the network and sharing Center, I get the error "default gateway is not available" and occasionally "the connection between your access point, etc. and internet is broken"

Other computers and devices using the network are working properly, although there was a 'competitor IP address' error on another pc, which, after a reconnection, solved itself.

I use an edimax 802.11n wireless card and a D-link router

I tried several things to make it work again, but without result. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    disable TCP/IPv6 had no effect.

I think I can have fixed me, I installed the driver microsoft before the reinstall instead of the driver edimax and internet suddenly started working.
