ConnectionFactory cannot create the WiFi connection
I tried this code example, and it returns null ConnectionDescriptor when I only have the wifi connection:
cf = new ConnectionFactory(); cf.setPreferredTransportTypes(new int[]{ TransportInfo.TRANSPORT_TCP_WIFI, TransportInfo.TRANSPORT_TCP_CELLULAR, TransportInfo.TRANSPORT_WAP, TransportInfo.TRANSPORT_WAP2, TransportInfo.TRANSPORT_MDS, TransportInfo.TRANSPORT_BIS_B }); cf.setAttemptsLimit(2); cf.setConnectionTimeout(10000); ConnectionDescriptor descr = cf.getConnection("http://www.google.com"); StringBuffer buff = new StringBuffer(); if(descr == null){ buff.append("no descriptor"); }else{ buff.append(descr.getTransportDescriptor().getTransportType() + ";" + descr.getUrl()); try { descr.getConnection().close(); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("===>conn close error:" + e.getMessage() + ";" + e.getClass().getName()); } }
I tested with the mobile network and it works well and returns the connection descriptor non-zero but when I try with the wifi only and always returns null.
I tried to access Google.com on the bb browser and it opens.
However, the connection is slow and it loads for a while before opening google. Is this the reason why I get null handle or its something else?
Well I solved it.
It turned out that I had activated the VPN profile to the wifi network. When I disable the code works ok.
But this raises the question why can't make a connection http via wifi with active VPN profile. I can always open google.com in the browser.
I'll make a new thread for this question.

HP Pavilion 14e016tx - cannot detect the WiFi connection
My HP Pavilion 14e016tx (win 7, 64-bit, rt3290 ralink 802.11) does not detect WiFi connections. Sometimes it does not detect, but when I try to connect, it still shows the failure message ("windows could not connect to xxxxx & quot.") No idea how to solve this problem? Update the driver or solutions?
Any kind of suggestions are appreciated! Thank you.Hello:
I don't know which driver you used, but you can get the latest being for this map directly from Mediatek (Ralink) below:

Workstation 7.0.1 cannot create the bridged connection.
I have trouble getting VMnet0 network map to be on deck.
While the 'Publisher virtual network' entry in the dialog box the VMnet0 is listed with a "Custom" Type and has the 'Host-only' selected option button.
Selection of the "VMnet0" adapter and then by clicking on the option button "Bridged" immediately translates into an error with the text dialog box:
' Cannot change the full network: there is no host not bridged network adapters. »
After clicking 'OK' the error dialog is disabled and the 'Host-only' option button is automatically selected.
Some install information, VMWare Workstation 7.0.1 installed on a quad core AMD Opteron with a single network adapter running MS Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2
I found the following threads with similar problems
http://communities.VMware.com/thread/244109
http://communities.VMware.com/message/1405636
Unfortunately solutions in these discussions do not seem to work in my situation.
By clicking the "Restore Default" button in the dialog box "Virtual Network Editor" recreates the VMWare network adapters but does not solve the issue of 'no host not bridged network adapters'.
I can't change the "automatic settings" and turn off the "automatic gateways" because the button is disabled.
I've attached a screen of the "Virtual Network Editor" dialog box Cap
Any ideas?
Thank you
help the docs about this?
nothing VMware - but you can look at my site - see http://sanbarrow.com/network/cmdguide2workstation.html
What I would do then is to uninstall the vmnetbridge and reinstall it.
To do this log as Administrator - open a cmd as administrator
CD for the installation of workstation directory
type
vnetlib.exe -- uninstall bridge
reset
Log in as an administrator and change the cd in the Directory Setup again
type
vnetlib.exe -- install bridge
all by running the command thios - do not have any other open - Windows Setup can popup a question that can be hidden if not
can't see your original post while responding to...
If you have a 32-bit host - use vnetlib.exe
If you have a 64-bit host - use the 64 bit version of the tool itself

KB2628259 doesn't install, cannot create the directory or file. Anyone know of a solution?
Hi dakota25,
· Did you do changes on the computer before the show?
· You are able to install other updates successfully?
· You get the error message?
Follow these methods.
Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.
After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
(a) click Start, run.
(b) type msconfigand click OK.
(c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
(d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
(e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.
Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx
Method 4: Follow the steps in the article.
How to reset the Windows Update components?

Original title: Device Manager empty
I have Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed in a Bootcamp partition on my Intel iMac. I can detect and install new hardware such as USB keys. However, the Device Manager window is blank - how can I get the window to display the devices connected to the computer? I am also unable to install Parallels tools when I use Bootcamp as a virtual machine. The error message "cannot create the 'root-enumerated device' necessary to install Parallels Paravirualization driver.
Hey Harcjk,
For your first question, go through this article.
None of the items appear in the device list manager when you open
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/311504For the second question, here are some suggestions:
Method 1: Uninstall & install Parallels tools
NOTE: we highly recommend you make a backup of the virtual machine before you continue.
a. start your virtual machine and cancel the installation of Parallels Tools Wizard.
b. Click Start--> Panel--> Add / Remove programs and remove the Parallels tools in the list of applications.
c. restart Windows.
d. install the Parallels tools by clicking on the Virtual Machine--> install the Parallels Tools.
Method 2: Uninstall antivirus software
If the problem persists, try the following:
Temporarily uninstall all the antivirus software to the virtual machine and repeat steps of the "Uninstall & install Parallels Tools" section above.
Note: Don't forget to install the back antivirus software, once the problem is resolved.
Method 3: Uninstall, clean & install Parallels tools
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following windows Help article.
How to back up and restore the registry in Windows XP
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322756
a. If the problem persists, try the following:
b. start Windows.
c. go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Add/Remove Programs" and uninstall theParallels Tools if it is present.
d. go to 'my computer' > 'C' drive > "Program Files" > "Parallels" folder and delete the "Parallels Tools" folder, if present.
e. click the Windows 'Start' menu-> 'run' and type 'regedit'. Click OK.
f. in the registry editor, go to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Parallels" and delete the heading "Parallels Tools" and go to "My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Parallels" and remove the 'Tools' section.
g. restart Windows.
h. now install Parallels tools in the 'VM' menu on the Parallels Desktop menu bar, while Windows is running.
I hope this helps.

Original title: no network card
I installed a NETGEAR N300 Wireless USB Adapter on my computer which is a desk top Dell 64-bit running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. There are five computers on my network. Two of the others use the same model of NETGEAR wireless USB adapt. I removed the Ethernet cable after the installation of the wireless adapter. I can say that the new wireless adapter works fine. When I tried to map the network I got the same message that appears in some of these problems: "Windows cannot create the network map. Responses of the other devices on the network are delayed or there is a router on the network incapatible". I have restarted this computer in SafeMode as suggested in the above problems. I tried other things like disabling the wired connection has always existed for the cable. No effect. Then I tried mapping the network on the other computers. All failed with the same message. All the other four computers are 32-bit. Three of these computers are also running Windows 7 Home Premium. They are the best desktop computers. The other computer is a Windows 7 Starter netbook running. It is the 32-bit computer, always using a cable. That will be replaced with the same wireless adapter model NETGEAR. Anyone know how to fix this or is this a bug? It would be nice of the network software of Windows 7 has worked as it is supposed to. TO.I went the last wired wireless computer and the problem disappeared. The five computers can view the map now without any problems.

ORA-19504: cannot create the file '+ DATA '.
Hello everyone.
This is the scenario:
We have a test server that is used to restore daily backups of the Production database. Restore us the database with the same SID as the production one.
For specific reasons, we need create a second database (with a different SID) on this server with an older backup from the production one. To realize that I'm trying to use a part of the "DUPLICATE without connection to the target" tutorials on the web.
I tried the simple guide that I found which is:
(1) copy the backup files cold /somedirectory
(2) start OLD database with nomount
(3) connect RMAN with OLDER as an auxiliary
(4) run the following: DUPLICATE DATABASE FOR OLD BACKUP LOCATION ' / somedirectory' NOFILENAMECHECK.
Here's the result (I deleted some lines because of the size of it):

The first mistake of the stack was ORA-19504 while trying to restore the backup of the database.
First thing I took a glance was ASM occupation but it enough available space.
The second was a permission problem, but it doesn't seem to be the case because RMAN can correctly write the controlfile to ASM.
One have some advice on what I should look for?
Thanks in advance sorry for my English.
Select this option.
Hello.
Thanks, but is not the case. As I have said, that the DATA diskgroup has space enough he uses only a single disk in a RAID.
But I solved my problem... To the auxiliary database, I added the following to the spfile:
DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT = '+ DATA/ProdDB', '+ DATA/OlderDB ".
LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT = '+ DATA/ProdDB', '+ DATA/OlderDB ".
I don't know why, but with these two clauses, it worked well. Perhaps RMAN was trying to restore it to the wrong place?

Hello
I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're not comfortable with these tasks, you may have to get a consultant.
The main steps are:
- Connect to the source application and extract security tasks > extract tasks > excerpt from security.
- Save the .sec file in your office
- Connect to the new application and load the .sec since tasks file > load task > Security load.

ColdFusion 10 - cannot create the database
I think that this error has to do with permissions, but I'm not sure. I'm not under personal service accounts to run IIS 7.5 or Coldfusion. There is some dirt on my server and Setup:

A installed version 9.0.1. Installled CF 10 Beta and then uninstalled beta 9 and 10 to install 10 final. Ran into a problem with IIS 7.5 refusing to release some settings somewhere deep beyond web.config files so it was a dev server I simply uninstalled IIS 7.5 role and also uninstalled WAS, wonderful Windows Process Activation Service, test function (if it is really what it is... more as a burden IMO) and delete the files C:\ColdfusionX and C:\inetpub to purge settings and garbage. I then rebooted and again installed IIS and WAS. The previous problem had nothing to do with the substance of data base, it was the IIS for CF 10 connector not properly be created and applied by IIS, resulting in .cfm files offered for download.
After all the changes, I was able to connect to the CF admin date to which I applied the update of 10 CF 2. Web server here on out stuff is practically install stock.

Complete cleaning action
Ah shucks! I can't believe how far from the solution I was looking for. Documentation has revealed what I had to do it even if it honestly should have probably been better treated with the best comments of the error.
http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7FD a.html
"Note: when you add an Apache Derby Embedded data source, verify that the specified directory does not exist."
Which is a bit ridiculous given a fileOpen dialog box is provided which means just the opposite.
I came across this problem before CF 9 awhile back and I am surprised it is still hidden and I had forgotten about it.

Hello I would like to know if it would be a good procedure to when you do upgrades or install a patch do a 'snapshot' with vmware. I have my daily backups, but I just want to know if this could also help to have a backup. Thank you.
