Connections dropped on WRT54G2

In the last week or two I started having problems when I seem to lose the connection.  However, my cable modem says it is connected and the signal is strong.  But I can't ping outside my local network.  I can ping the network, I can ping my router and the modem, but I cannot ping, nameservers of my ISP, google, yahoo, etc..  All computers, Wi-wired and have the same problem at the same time.  It will be the problem for a few minutes, then be fine for awhile then have the problem again.  Sometimes it will be fine for 10 or 20 minutes, other times hours, then it starts again.

My ISP says that their modem is very well and think the problem is my router - being of course intermittent problems, that this was not the case when they were here.  I have not updated the firmware and have had this router about 6 months.  What do I do about this problem?

On a secondary issue, I could not connect to this forum with my account Ecritel.net - he said the nickname does not exist and would not let me save a screen with this e-mail address name because it is already in the system. I had to create a new one with a different email address.  I couldn't find a way to get the support to be able to solve this problem, so if someone could help with this I would appreciate it.

Thank you

    Hello

I hope one of you can help me. I have a laptop 13 q Satellite L755 nice for a year and a half.

My problem is that I surf the net and suddenly my internet connection drops down. On Firefox or IE, I have a message with a triangular signal yellow saying: "your connection has be revived."
I'm still waiting on my network but I can't access the internet.

The strangness, is that my family other PC or laptop have no problem on the connection.
This happens on the wifi and cable. At home or other places of connection.
In France and the United States. So my conclusion is that there is a problem with my laptop.

I looked around some forums. It seems that some have a problem with IPv6.
I have disabled the option to use IPv6 on my laptop, but I still have the problem.

Another comment: I play the Kingdom of the fortress online.
Sometimes I disconnect from this game but I can still surf the internet for a few minutes before undergoing a total disconnection.

    Looking forward for your help.

As this happens using WLan and LAN its really hard to say why your connection is interrupted.
Have you tested the internet connection with fresh preinstalled system?
I mean it is possible that some software / updates received or installed in the past it would affect.

  • HP 15-g020ca: Internet connection drops frequently

    Hi all!

4 months I suffer from this problem.

My internet connection drops every 15 minutes and takes about 2-3 minutes to reconnect.

In the meantime the wifi connection still works and strong (5 bars).

I tried all methods to resolve this problem, dns flush, back, ip address, update driver... I have even to connect my laptop to a dongle wireless usb to see if it's a hardware problem, but same result. I tried to connect to another wifi network but also the problem remains.

Strangely when I connect my computer to my phone internet of the data over wifi it works perfectly.

My phone, iPad are connected to the wifi in my house without any problem.

Any idea? Thank you very much in advance for your help.

It is possible, if the original malware file is on another drive or partition, then when the file is available the malware can reassert himself on the BONE, unfortunately malware detection is not 100% effective, it is generally recommended to use several malware programs, I generally recommend malwarebytes first that it is one of the best After that I also use spybot search and destroy

  • Wireless network connection drops on my Tecra A4

    Hello
When I upload a file (or just only connected to the web), the connection drops about 30 seconds for a few seconds. I tried many things, like change the channel, change security settings (wpa/wep), tried other places in the House, but if I sit only one metre from the router, I have the same problem.
The strange thing is the computer which is directly connected by cable to the router shows no problem at all...

See also http://www.sappa.nl/dumeter.jpg for an illustration of the problem.

I read about a possible solution (http://arstechnica.com/news/posts/1080251780.html), by closing the windows net zero service and instead of this service to use a different program to search for and connect to your network (configfree?)

    I use a netgear WPN824 router
My laptop is a Tecra A4

    Greetings!

    Hello

It's not easy to give you a proper answer.
If your device works with the Atheros WLan card, you must use the Atheros Client Utility to configure WLan settings and the option to use Windows to configure my wireless in the wireless network properties must be disabled.
In addition, please check from Toshiba Web site for the new Wlan driver. Maybe the new update could solve the problem.

    Good bye

  • Internet connection drops

The OS is El Capitan 10.11.3 on both my MacBook Mid 2010 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR & iMac 21.7 end 2012 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 8 BG 1600 MHz DDR3, connection to the internet with the 5th generation Airport Extreme. The internet connection drops without model except that diagnosis shows a cable ethernet disconnected between the Airport Extreme and the ISP modem. I can install an older Airport Extreme I replaced about 4 years ago because there was no support for WPA security with the same Ethernet cable and the connection does not fall. I can also plug the MacBook with the power cord and connect via Ethernet. Is it possible that the Ethernet WAN port for the modem to ISP is down? The reason why I ask is that I install the older airport with the same ethernet cable. (I have other cat5 cables, but none of them are cross-cable as the cable provider ISP) I don't want to leave the network upward with the old airport because I have no security.  I price a new Airport Extreme and a cable crossed, but I'd feel better spending the money if I can be pretty sure that the 5th generation extreme is a failure. Anyone have any ideas?

Some modems are more problematic that others... you must tell us the details.

This modem you have, make and model please?

You don't show us the summary for the AE, but if you run 7.6.4 firmware, it is less stable with some modems than previous 7.6.1 (this is why the old AE does not fall).

Please firmware downgrade to the AE to 7.6.1. For this, hold down the option key while clicking on the version number of the existing firmware. A list... Select 7.6.1 (DO NOT USE 7.6.3. it is poor..).

The latest version of AC AE is even worse... so I recommend you to buy a different brand of router... you can continue to use EI as WAP, as long as you take on their track, it should work ok.

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE network connection drops randomly times

    Hey,.

I had this problem with my laptop because I bought 1.5 years ago.
Now I launch Windows 7 x 64 with the latest bios (version 2.20 - WIN; day 25/02/10), chipset and wireless (the card is a: Realtek Wireless LAN Adapter 8187 B; driver version: 62.1182.0331.2010) drivers.

The problem is that my network connection drop at random times.
This produces both with my wireless lan card and it comes up with a variety of routers (at work and at home I use a linksys wrt54gl, but I tried it on all the other routers with the same result).

I don't think it's a hardware failure, since the network seems to work very well under Linux (I tried Ubuntu 10). Also some time I took it for warranty service and they said that the material is fine, but I should "not use many programs at the same time and use Windowx XP.

I understand the different devices (card WiFi, network card, webcam, etc.) inside the laptop are connected to some kind of usb hub. My guess is that it is something wrong with this "hub", given that the webcam works as defective.

    Thank you

    > From what I understand the different devices (card WiFi, network card, webcam, etc.) inside the laptop are connected to some kind of usb hub. My guess is that it is something wrong with this "hub", given that the webcam works as defective.

No, the card WLan and LAN card are not connected to the USB just the webcam interfaces so it cannot be any USB issue.

I think it might be a problem of Windows since Linux is OK

I think you should check the power management settings in Windows 7 and card Wlan /LAN. This can be done in the Manager of devices-> WLan / LAN card-> Advanced tab properties.

I also recommend upgrading from win 7 to the last installation of State all updates and patches

  • Satellite T110-11U: WLan connection dropped and very slow performance

    Hi people,

I use a Satellite T110-11U running windows 7 Home premium.

After having initially was very satisfied with its use, it now becomes more and more frustrating to use with wifi, with connections dropped and very slow performance.

I have updated the BIOS and think I have updated all drivers wirelss, but could be the problem. It seems that wireless, software of management is at fault because the networks are detected, but not clinging.

Any suggestion or tips to try will help save my sanity!

    Thanks for your help.

    John

    > have updated the BIOS and think I have updated all drivers wirelss, but could be the problem.
If you need to make sure that you use the latest WLan driver.
The driver can be downloaded here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

The laptop uses the Realtek RTL8191SE of WLan card.
Please also reset the settings of the Wlan router. I had a lot of problems with my WLan and after the reset of the router, performance problems disappeared.

  • Internet connection drops when I turn on the laptop

I use a computer laptop dv7-7250us HP Envy, running windows 8.1.  All my software is up-to-date.  In the last month, everytime I turn on the laptop, the internet connection drops.  Troubleshooting of HP operation resets the wifi adapter.  It's boring run the troubleshooter in the mornings.  Any suggestions on what I can to prevent that from happening.

I have Intel Centrino Wireless - N installed 2230.  I went out to the Intel Web site and most recent driver.

    Hello

I rolled back the driver in Device Manager, and now I'm able to connect automatically when I turn on the laptop.  The driver that works has been dated to August 2013.  The Windows update in June for this caused driver wifi whenever I turned on the laptop.

  • WRT120N - ip Routing Static-> connection drops

    Hello

I'm having a problem with a WRT120N router to work. I'm trying to use this router to serve as a way for employees to connect to the domain of society everywhere in the company of their laptop.

My problem: as soon as I set up a static ip address in the Web interface, the connection drops. I can't connect to the router more. Everything seems fine for a few seconds, but my internet connection in XP then says "limited or no connectivity."

I used the correct data from our DHCP server and I put "DHCP server" on the WRT120N-Web interface to 'off '. My CARD is an Intel Pro Wireless 3945abg. I'm also using Intel's WiFi connection utility.

Anyone know what could be the cause of the connection drops?

I have already updated the firmware on the router to the latest version, but it did not solve my problem.

The router is right next to me, so it is no more a problem.

I also changed the Router 1 channel, but nothing has changed.

Do not disable the DHCP server. Computers do not get an IP address and therefore indicates "limited connectivity".

DHCP does not work through a router.

Each IP subnet needs its own DHCP server. Otherwise, the value of the WRT automatic/DHCP back on the Internet. Unplug it from your network.

Then change the address LAN IP of the router from 192.168.1.1 to 172.16.1.49 (free address). You will not be able to select the subnet mask 255.255.0.0 well (it is a limitation on all consumer of Linksys routers).

In addition, disable the DHCP server and save settings now. Unplug your computer.

Now one of the LAN ports numbered from your phone to your existing LAN WRT.

Now that you have configured the WRT as access point for your network. Wireless computers get their IP address of your DHCP server.

The incorrect subnet mask 255.255.255.0 on the WRT means that you will only be able to access the web interface of the WRT from a computer with IP 172.16.1. *. But it's the only issue here...

  • WRT54GL wired connection drops

I've got a WRT54GL Wireless G from Linksys. I do not currently use wireless. (I've disabled.) It worked fine when I got it, but now removes several times a day. The frequency of drops has increased during the last two weeks. A manual reboot of the WRT54GL resets the connection. (The connection is lost too whenever the computer is restarted and it also forces me to restart the WRT54GL)

To initially get a connection, I had to follow the routers cascading tutorial that requires the internet to be put at the first port and way wired for access from the second computer. (Because I'm using a combination modem/router device, connect the cable to the modem/router directly on the internet/ADSL port on the WRT54GL did not.)

I tried to access Google directly by IP (74.125.159.106) and this does not work, even if I can't actually search. (I deleted the browser cache before checking this.) The lights on the modem/router and the WRT54GL are turned on, then the two seem to work fine. I can also access the web interface for the WRT54GL. (I don't think I can access the web interface of the router/modem, but I need to confirm that the next time the connection drops).

For this reason, I don't know if it's really drop the connection, or if I'm just unable to what location. What I read, it can be linked to a dns issue, but I don't know much about these things.

    Thanks for any help

Maybe you've found the 192.168.1.x ip address between your modem and that's why you get no internet when you connect the modem to the router on the internet port.

Your router does not work as a router here... You connect the modem to the router to the Ethernet port, it works as a switch...

I would suggest that allowing you to convert the modem in Bridge mode and then connect the modem to the router on the internet and computer port to the router to the ethernet port... Now open the linksys configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and configure the router with PPPoE settings.

The second is option... Connect the modem to the router on the internet and computer port to the router to the ethernet port... Now open the linksys configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Now, change the ip address of the router linksys 192.168.2.1 and save settings... Network power cycle and it should.

    Check out this link.

If you have found the intermittent connection to the router then, reduce the MTU to 1350 and cycle power to the router.

  • Linksys Cisco VPN Client connection drops

I have a Linksys BEFVP41 V2. I have a PC running Windows XP SP2 with customer VPN Cisco 5.0.00.0340. I have a problem when I log in the VPN client with my employer network. It seems to be ok. No problem to do the job, hit their proxy server, etc.. All of a sudden, the connection drops. It seems to 'freeze' the network. No surfing, without PuTTY. Sometimes 5 minutes after the connection or 3 hours later. I have to disconnect the VPN connection, and then reconnect. What could be the problem? My MTU is set to 1432. The Windows Firewall has exceptions for ports 10000, 4500 and 62515. I have a network in place at 172.20.x.x... not the default or typical 10.x.x.x network. Firmware is 1.01.04 on the router.

  • Wireless network connection drops every few minutes after windows update.

    Original title: dropped internet connection

I had trouble with my laptop give up wireless connection.  Received a patcha and everything was fine until the last windows update auto.  Same problem again.  I have to constantly reset the wifi.  I run a diagnosis and I get the message that the wireless adapter has been corrected, but it won't always stay connected.  VERY frustrating.

    Hi Ccolvin3,

Windows can be disable your network adapter to save power. Disable the power saving option in the network adapter properties. To do this, try the following steps.

    a. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.
    b. in the list of objects, expand network adapters.
    c. double-click the sub element that means wireless network cards.
    d. click the power management tab.
    e. uncheck all options on the power management tab.
    f. apply the settings, and then restart the computer to check the difference.

We recommend that you also download and install the latest driver for the card from the device manufacturer's Web site or system wireless.

Download and install the latest service pack on the computer. See this article for more information:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935222

  • VIX 1.6.2 and ESXi 3.5.0: connection drops for no apparent reason

I used vix to drive a virtual machine hosted by workstation, but I update this code (c#), to drive a virtual machine hosted by ESXi.

I have a lot of problems with the connection to the abandonment. I set up a ping t on ESXi box and on the virtual machine I want to drive, and that shows a consistent link. However, I find the following:

    • If I call Connect successfully and then add a call to Open, on a regular basis, the call will fail with VIX_E_HOST_NOT_CONNECTED. I put the Connect and Open calls in a loop to try again with a break of 20 seconds between each attempt. After 3 or 4 attempts it usually connects.

    • If my program does a job without talking to the VM for about a minute, the connection drops usually such that if I try to call RunProgramInGuest after use the Vix api for a minute, it fails with "not connected". I put in a call to try again 'connection' before running a program on the virtual machine. Failure, I run the connection and open the loop to try one more time and then question the RunProgramInGuest call, I wanted to once again and it works.

    • However, I'm stuck, if I call RunProgramInGuest and then wait on the handle of the job, he is generally ok unless in the guest takes more than a minute or so to run. In this case returns never wait and the program is blocked.

Anyone who knows the connection drop like that? What solution did you use to solve the final problem. I considered trying to exceed a reminder in, but the wait is failing, I expect that a reminder be never called back either. The other option I'm considering is that every time I call RunProgramInGuest, I actually run a script on the computer virtual who runs the program, then writes a file. So I can query reconnect, reopen and reconsignation-in in a loop to try again, and a quick turnaround program that looks like the existence of the file that tells me the program finished. It sounds crazy, so I hope that there are better suggestions!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, if the guys from VMWare VIX watch this group discussion. Here are two suggestions: If you want a badge of the ViX API in the top level, the logic of reconnection must be internal. In addition, a native managed API which requires no installation of COM stuff would be very welcome.

I suppose that you keep reopening a connection and garbage collection operation, it destroyed in a random delay. That's why you see inconsistent results. I suggest you to take VMWareTasks and rewrite the code that you do without anything resembling a retry. It should "work".
