Considerations of Master Page for high resolution in B + W printing

Hello
Wonder if you guys can help me with a few questions more that I have.

I have a book that will be printed in grayscale B + W, where the font of the text is 'Garamond' and contains images in grayscale 300 DPI throughout the book.  I'm looking to make sure that the PDF file provided to the printing press is enough so that it can be printed in high resolution text and pictures (with embedded text/speech bubbles) come out as clear as possible.

(A) can you tell me what settings and where I need to do in my Master Page template file Indesign so that it contains the appropriate parameters for the high print quality?
(I read here: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1255684 the Basic for press quality pdf in Distiller resolution is 2400 dpi).
-What should be my "Advanced flattening / transparency"?
-What should be my 'fusion of transparent space' be?
-Everything I need to put?

(B) wrt my images, should I import them into my indesign document as the original TIFF files or alternativey files .psd of origin containing the different shape and text layers?
Secondly, can I embed images or preserve a link to them instead?

Some experience;
-My images are saved as TIFF files, and in grayscale.
-Most of my images contain bubbles created in Photoshop and then saved without layers as TIFF files.
-The bubbles contain text with a font variant of 7point to 14 points in the Myriad Pro font size.
-The size of the image is 8.7x8.7 or 14.7x14.7 and are at a resolution of 300 dpi.

I really hope that you can help me here as Im totally new to InDesign/edition and I am now starting to worry that I have not taken into account these basic considerations.
Best regards
L

If you want to add text in Photoshop and not expect to print sharp, you have two choices, in my opinon. Work in Bitmap mode at 1200 dpi or more (which does not work for gray levels), or work in grayscale (for this project) at a resolution of Watt is required to give you 300 DPI to scale output, let live text layers and save the levels of gray images Photshop PDF so that the text is not rasterized.

Master Page Items question: I use master pages for a 60 page document and just found out that some of my master page items are multiplying! There are some boundaries on the pages, and some of them are constantly a quantity apparently without end on top of the other. For example, I replace to change the color of the border and notice a black there's below him so I deleted the extra and there is another and another and another... EEK. I can easily hide them, BUT I fear they will lead to complications in the case of pre-press printing. What is the cause? What can I do to prevent it? How can I get rid of the stack-up?

It's always haapening, if you substitute any element on the page and later master you reapply the same or another master. I would NEVER say to replace any itme master page in the page. Instead create another master based on the first, make the substitutions and apply this master. Substitutions on the pages should be avoided in all cases, not only for the problem you described above, other issues of accessibility will also come into play.

  • A master page for all documents in a book file

    Hello!

I have the file book with 7 files document that it contains. I can solve paginating the book with a master page that apply to all document files? I'm lazy and I don't want to create 7 identical templates. Is there a solution for this problem?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes, master pages names must be exactly the same (case-sensitive and spelling). You choose the document that contains the master page (s) you want to use as source and choose Synchronize master pages in the synchronization options, and then synchronize the book. All the masters with the same name will be updated to match the source file, additional masters who are not present in other files will be added from the source file and page masters not in the source file will be ignored.

  • Breakpoints for high-resolution devices

    Hello

I am creating a sensitive project using Captivate 9 and I would like to the breaking point for mobile based on the resolution of the iPhone 6 s. I understand this resolution is 750x1334px. However, I was able to set a height 1334, but can't seem to adjust the width of breakpoint.

    So I have two questions:

    1. the above approach makes sense, or am I missing something basic about how the resolution and breakpoints is expected to work?

    2. assuming that the above makes sense, how to set the width of 750px mobile breakpoint?

    Thank you

There is a significant difference between the resolution of the screen and the browser. You must take into account a last, which is much lower. For the iPhone 4 it's 320 x 480. My HTC One has a screen high resolution, but the browser resolution 360 x 640. Be aware as well that you do not want to deploy very large files on smartphones!

  • Problems with ASP Master Page for examples of measurement Studio Web Form

I loaded Measurement Studio Web form examples (ASP projects) in VS 2008. Running within VS proceeded without problems. Then I built and published on IIS 7 for ASP pages

wwwroot / vb , for example.

Opening with the Internet Explorer browser, the home page is OK: localhost / vb. However, all of the examples under come with the following error:

The file ' / vb/Annotations/Examples.master' does not exist (being one of the subpages Annotations)

I looked in several discussions on the Web and found no logical explanation why this is happening

Finally, I understood NOR appearing Web controls do not on a remote browser.

The cause is IE, and I am currently using version 7.

With Google Chrome, for example, everything works OK. Other Web, including Telerik control providers, are complaining about visibility of IE 'spoil' controls.

Change some property settings for a Web control can solve the problem with IE

  • Multiple designs for several resolutions

Cheers, everyone.  Please forgive nature newbish of this question, from a designer with 16 years of extensive experience in all areas of graphic design EXCEPT the web (kill me now, I deserve it).   I use Muse to create a site, and I know for a fact that responsive Web design has not yet been implemented in the program.  The site I build have pages whose content adapts a 1024 x 768-1366 x 768 design no problem, but at the moment where I visualize it in 1920 x 1080, there are a lot of empty space.  After scouring for some info, I came to the conclusion that I might need to design multiple pages to several resolutions, which I'm QUITE FINE with for this site in particular, seeing as how he is not very intense.

Unfortunately, I can't find out how.  I would create a template A, B-Master, C-Master page for each resolution and then build from these Masters?  If so, how the browser automatically detect and find out where the design to use for a particular resolution?  Basically, I'm looking for a fairly quick walkthrough on how to do this.  I'm fairly well-versed in the Muse at this point and the terminology and jargon, but it helps to have a steering hand however

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

  • InDesign - issue pdf high resolution

Hello! I put work done in my InDesign (publication) document pdf and when I pdf high resolution this page for printing, elements of logo have been excluded. Uncheck the options to overprint fill and not printable . Then export your PDF once again.

  • Cursor becomes very small on W550S with a display high resolution (2880 x 1620)

I have a W550S with a disply 2880 x 1620 running Windows 10. Once logged in, after a few minutes, the mouse pointer becomes very small, about 1/2 the size of the regular cursor. I use 200% scaling (recommended for high resolution viewing). I can restore the normal size pointer by selecting under the mouse settings, but finally it switches back on about 1/2 size.

It seems that Windows 'forget' that she runs at 200% scale and turns again to the normal scale of 100% of IPR.

Does anyone else have this problem? It is a problem because when she becomes so tiny I can't often found on the screen.

Oh and I sometimes run with an external monitor-normal DPI connected to the laptop. I think the problem started when I plugged the external monitor, but it happens even if I do not have the external monitor connected.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Steven

  • How to identify the master page of replacement

I think that this forum must be broken. Surely questions have been over the years who use the term "ignore".

Anyway, every time I move a master page for the body, I get the message asking if I want to maintain the substitution. I looked and looked and did not find that on the page of the body is the substitution of the master page.

How will I know which chokes on Framemaker? I use FM 12 in Windows 7.

    Hi Nancy:

I know! We must put our detective hat and grab our magnifying glasses to understand. You can put it on a list of gifts here: host.

From my experience, once removed, always removed. Are back you (or someone in your office) do anything to add in without knowing it? For example, by selecting the single page framework model and makes it a little more time to accommodate an additional line? If the framework model is just a fraction of a different point in the frame of the page master, it generates the message.

  • master pages which auto fill?

    Hey guys,.

We take on the design of a 100 page book for a company that has lost their designers. Anyway long story short, the lap time is fast and are running headers on all the pages that are unique.

in the master page for the poster "XXXXXXXX" text box headings, borders pages displays the correct title. If I insert a page pages two in-between the head on all pages after my inserted pages back to 'XXXXXXX '.

At first, I thought it was by using text variables, I myself have never used, but after some research I don't think that it is. Any help anyone can provide would be wonderful.

    Thank you

Looks like the headers are overridden and changed manually on the pages of the document. You can select it?

  • Why are the breakpoints and the page from the master page settings not inherited by all pages?

    Hello

I've been busy creating a sensitive site with points to stop and a fluid width. Everything works now on my master page. But I found my breakpoints and the parameters of the page were not inherited from my master page for all other pages. To manually create all exactly the same breakpoints would be a lot of work. Can someone help me with the please my problem?

    Kind regards

    Tim

When you apply a master page with breakpoints to another page, the breakpoints are displayed as markers of white triangle. All you need to do is add your breakpoints in the same place as markers.

The reasoning behind this is likely that sometimes the content of the page should be changed more than the constant elements in the master.

    I hope this helps.

  • Page style changing page to page (fonts, positioning), even with the same master page.

OK, Ive never noticed this before. Here's the question.

I have elements such as fonts, positioning evolution page by page. Even when they share the same master page.

For example. In my footer using fonts im 'A' with focus on my positioning jig.  I'm using this master page for my map of the whole of the site.

When I publish the site and go to other pages are 'A' becomes Ariail or default, loses all the attributes style and is now turned to the left.

    What is happening here.

Tour of 'IBE' in the 'Advanced' Panel ' file > real estate Site "to Muse and re - publish. This will be corrected in a 2015.1.2 update that will be released soon.

  • Catalogue with left and right master pages

I'm sure it's a pretty easy question for any inDesign pro, but that's.

I'm creating a catalog for my company, its going to be 150-200 pages... or even more.  I got about 6 pages done before I realized how I have this set up isn't going to work. I have a master page for the left pages and one for the right pages (see image second image for my pages pane)

My problem is, I need to insert a new page as page #2. When I do, it creates her "not cela" is part of my image for all subsequent pages.  Do all moving pages, but master pages too.   I need the content on the page to not pass the (master) page so that the blue tabs are always outside the catalog.

Who is? How can I set this up?

Variables work find for it. Just put the text for the variable in the margin, touch the bottom, lost on the first page where you want it to appear. It will follow all pages until another bit of text formatted for the chosen style is found.  In this way, you can have a master page that works for all sections.

-in this example, the text at the top and the side of the in section is taken from the variable, and the text at the top of the page on the next release is, too.

  • Conditional graphic master page?

    Hello

In my guide, I manage the display of different product data using conditions. On the cover of the page I have inserted an image of the product or project, the guide is for. Currently, this image is imported by reference into a frame on the page of the body.

Recently I played a little bit after you insert the image directly on the master page for this cover page for I can have the image displayed in the entire page in the bottom of a box of title, which worked well.

Where I'm stuck now, it's when I try to package the image on the master page.

After reading some other posts related to this forum, my first conclusion would be to pack in and continue to replace manually cover photo, but I have two questions to ask before doing this:

1: is it really impossible to somehow make this conditional image?

2: If the answer to question 1 is negative, is there a way to have this image to display on the page of body in the background so I can make it conditional it?

    Thank you

  • InD 6 - MWord import master pages

Customer sent a book format of approx. 200 w/15 PSC in MWord p. What a great story. Without sections or breaks for the PSC.

I realized by mistake, I can't copy/paste without losing some formatting. This is why I imported in InD who saved the notes in the body of the text, etc. and footnotes of page always bind (and follow) the note text.

I also realized that what created a single master page for the whole book. I generate the header text (incl. chp # & title on the right-hand page) control, it sure adds this header even to all pages as it should.

If I try an additional master page for each chp, based on the first master page (A) (to continue all the guides, etc.), I can not, then select the header to edit for the next chp. Shift-select even does not work. I can't change the additional headers Masters.

I don't see folios at the bottom, the letters of course for the master (A). In a first attempt with copy/paste of the same Word doc, I had no problem with the masters. Folios appeared and sequenced automatically on each page, even with additional masters for each chp. More I could select headers and edit them accordingly for the PSC.

It seems that it is import feature which really creates problems of reformatting in IND. It's bad. Subtitles, attack space etc, all are the nightmare of reformat my design of the layout that I initially presented to the customer.

Main question is how can I create masters that work for each chp who appear throughout the book also sequential folios?

I tried to reformat doc Word into Sections for each chp, but makes worse than issues, sections then had their OWN sequence number each beginning with page 1. I thought important Sections, perhaps a new master could then be created for each chp. But no go apparently.

    Thanks for all the solutions...

    Larry

    1. Forget word of formatting in InDesign.
    2. Word does not know Master Pages, InDesign makes.
    3. Build your document with the character and paragraph Styles.
    4. Avoid any manual formatting
    5. Avoid any empty paragraph (twice per round trip)
    6. Configure the variable text accumulate on your title paragraph style.
    7. Insert these variables of text in text frames on the master page, those who should be on a separate on the top layer.

Of course, you can override the master page with shift click items, but I will recommend strongly you never to do.
