Consolidation of bridge 3241

Can we "grouped" cisco 3241 Gateway?

If so, is there a procedure?

THX

HI Firdausch. N ° in the meaning of the word 'clustering' as MCU, cannot you cluster of ISDN GW like that. If guardian like VCS, you can have multiple GW and use indications of availability of resources to have the GK choose what GW to send the call, etc.

Help from H323 page:

Send available resources:

Select this option if you want as the gateway ISDN to inform the guard on its availability or unavailability. This information will be used by the gatekeeper when he selects where to place calls.

Also enter the threshold above which the messages will be sent to the doorman. The threshold is the percentage of the B channels available in use. 'Available' port has at least 1 layer upwards and the channel is not used as a D-channel/reserved channel. For example, if the threshold is 80%, the ISDN gateway informs the warden he is busy when 80 percent of its B-channels are used.

You can use this feature in two scenarios:

  • Where multiple ISDN gateways are registered with the same prefix to dial on the doorman even plan. When indications of the availability of resources (RAI) are configured, the ISDN gateway informs the guard when he is not available. Gatekeepers that support this feature will support ISDN gateways in the report available at the time to choose where to place the new calls
  • Where there is only one ISDN gateway, and you will want to limit the use of the gateway in IP calls. This ensures that there is always some capabilities for calls from ISDN

When selected, the ISDN gateway informs the guard when it is unavailable (when all ports are already in use).

The ability of the gateway ISDN to send messages of availability of resources is useful in a network where there are multiple ISDN gateways or when there are several gateway ISDN blades in a MSE.

In an environment with multiple ISDN registered with the same goalkeeper gateways, this guard should encourage devices as available when choosing where to place the new calls.

For example, when an ISDN gateway sends the doorman, a message indicating that it is not available, the warden tries to use a different ISDN gateway to new calls.

If you use VCS I highly suggest watching

to avoid hairpining or unauthorized use ISDN GW resources via callers calling through the solution of control/Highway etc.

I hope this helps.

  • 3241 GW ISDN to CUCM calls must be block

    Hi Experts

    I need your suggestion below

One of our customer with cisco Telepresence infrastructure setup (VCSC & E, conductor, TIP Server & TMS, CUCM). CUCM and integrated VCS, we recently installed ISDN the Gulf war (3241)

Now the client wants to block incoming and outgoing calls of CUCM to ISDN GW extension of GW ISDN extension CUCM

CUCM numbering plan is 62XXXX series and of VCS E.164 dial Plan is 64XXXX. All products in the most recent version S/W

someone suggest how fulfill us this requirement

    Concerning

    SR

Hello, welcome to the Cisco support community! =)

There are two methods to meet your need, first using the rules of research named source areas and the second is the script of CPL. I'll give you an example on the use of the rules of research, which is the easiest way to meet your need:

Blocking of the ISDN to CUCM

    1) register your gateway ISDN to a subarea separated in VCS control, for example 'ISDN-sub-zone '. Only the entry door must to enter this sub-area.

    2) create a search rule that fits your plan number CUCM, in your case, 62XXXX. This rule have priority over any other rules of game. Set the 'source' as the 'ISDN-sub-zone ". Use the parameter "replace" and transform the number to an unknown number. Set the 'match' 'Stop '. If your ISDN gateway will not be able to call any CUCM endpoints.

    Blocking of CUCM to ISDN

    1) the easiest is to make blocking calls using CUCM himself. You can use the CSS/Partition of CUCM features in order to refuse some end points to call ISDN numbers

    2) , but you can also use the VCS to block calls. You can use the same logic above. Create a search rule that fits your plan ISDN number, in my case, 0\d. * This rule have priority over any other rules of game. Set the 'source' as being the nearby area of CUCM. Use the parameter "replace" and transform the number to an unknown number. Set the 'match' 'Stop '. End points so that all your CUCM will not be able to call all ISDN numbers. Be aware that it will be applied to all the endpoints registered to CUCM, if you want to block only the end points, use the Partition/CSS of CUCM functions.

    Free fraud prevention

When you implement an ISDN gateway registered in VCS, especially when you have a highway of VCS, you should consider the need to implement a free fraud prevention mechanism which will prevent external users to use your system as a phone system without. For example, if you do not implement such a mechanism, external Internet allows your VCS Expressway users to achieve your ISDN gateway and then free ISDN calls using your gateway. In addition, there is another method of fraud called "reunification", where the user external dials to your ISDN via ISDN gateway and connect to the auto attendant to recognition of the bridge, if it is enabled, then the user redial another ISDN number and then the call is routed to ISDN using your entry door, in other words, a malicious user can make a local call to your gateway and then use your gateway to recompose and make an international call, for example.

Therefore, it is extremely important to look at a diagram of toll-free fraud prevention when implementing any ISDN gateway registered in VCS, especially when you have VCSE.

Fortunately, Cisco provided a configuration example explaining how to block two methods of fraud without charge. Take a look at this guide from page 40:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/VCs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Basic_Configuration_Control_with_Expressway_Deployment_Guide_X7-2.PDF

I suggest you consider all of the above examples, save time to plan and then implement your restriction and ISDN toll-free fraud prevention mechanism.

    I hope this helps.

  • The most convenient airport in Bridge mode lose packets

    Hi all.

I have an airport extreme with the version of firmware 7.7.7 (later at the time of this announcement). My modem ISP settings are blocked and it is already fixed to make routing/DHCP/Nat, so I use my airport extreme in Bridge mode to avoid the double NAT (it connects connects to the ISP with DHCP router).

Both the ISP modem/router and Airport extreme are creating two different 'wifi networks", which belong to the same network (192.168.0.0).

I can enter each of this Wifi network, obtain an IP address in both cases and start using the internet.

However, when I use it on my ISP router, everything works perfectly, however, when I use it on the airport network, it fails from time to time.

If I start ping an external IP address (e.g.: 8.8.8.8), I've never lost a packet on the network of the ISP router, but I lose packets often on the airport extreme network.

Also, if I ping the ISP of the airport extreme network router I lose packets from time to time. Sometimes also vice versa. I never lose packets when ping the router whose network providing I'm connected to.

All the settings on the airport extreme values by default (except that I created an additional network of 5 GHz).

Can you give us some advice as how to solve the problem? I read somewhere that disable ipv6 connection sharing could solve the problem, but it didn't. Thanks in advance

If you have the Ethernet cable from your ISP router that is connected to the "O" on the AirPort Extreme WAN port, unplug the cable and plug it into one of the three ports LAN <>- on the airport to see if this will help with the issue.

However, if you have the Ethernet cable from the ISP router already connected to one of the LAN <>- port on the AirPort Extreme, then you'll need to reset the AirPort Extreme back to default settings and then set up again.

If you have any further questions, the Airport extreme is defective and must be replaced.

  • How can I configure my Airport Extreme in Bridge mode (use the 3rd party router)?

    Data sheet:

    Airport Extreme - v 7.7.7

    Luma Surround Wifi 8

I recently bought a wifi (luminance) surround system. It comes with 3 routers that you place around your home. Unfortunately I still have stains died in my house I'm looking to add my Airport Extreme (AE) to Luma network. Is it as simple as plug the AE to the network (via Ethernet) and the bridge mode selection in the configuration of EI?

I can see the AE of my iMac, and it is green. How do you know that actually extend the wifi of my router Luma range?

I searched the forum and all messages dealing with this are several years old.

    Thanks for your time...

Basically, you want to create a mobile network with your Luma and AirPort Extreme routers. As you said, the extreme would need to be connected to the luminance by Ethernet and reconfigured as a bridge.

In addition, the following are also required on the extreme:

    • Wireless mode: create a wireless network
    • The network name must be the same as that used by the Luma.
    • The type of wireless security and the password must match that of the luminance as well.

To 'know' that the extreme extends the network of Luma, simply consult the BSSID value in the drop-down of OS X Wi - Fi. It must match the ID of the airport on your base station. Note: You must hold down the option key before clicking on the icon of the free Wi - Fi connection.

  • What happened to the consolidated Inbox?

Before last update yesterday, I had a 'consolidated' Inbox - all messages from multiple e-mail accounts came together. The update that killed him.

Update is also incompatible with the add-on "Conversations".

Re: an Inbox "consolidated" - all messages from multiple e-mail accounts came together

Do you mean that you have multiple accounts may POP each have been set up as an account of global Inbox using the local folders Inbox, so that any email account appear in the folders pane, only local files?
But now all e-mail POP accounts show with their own Inbox.

    OR

Do you mean that you used a "unified", view where various POP or imap folders are grouped?
    Try:
    'View' > 'Files' > 'unified '.
    or
    'Icon menu' > 'Files' > 'unified '.

  • I consolidated my files and now iTunes can't find almost 200 songs in my library

For a long time I have been adding new songs, I have download in a folder and then add the songs in the library iTunes via file-> add a file to the library and pointing to each new song. Last week, in order to make a backup of all my songs, in accordance with the recommendation of Apple, I gathered all my files in this folder (where there were songs in other folders I don't remember). However, even if the option "keep iTunes media folder organized (up files in folders of album and artist)" was NOT checked, it is exactly what makes iTunes: it began to place my files lost in the artist/album folders it consolidated.

I cancelled the process when I realized what iTunes did, which would result in all hope, but that has not happened. Now, 250 on 2660 songs, I had have NOT been organized to artist/album folders (probably because I cancelled the process before they could be organized) are always in the song 'root' folder: http://prntscr.com/bvrvqt

About 180 of those who have a "!" icon in my library stating iTunes cannot find the specified file: http://prntscr.com/bvrpl0

When I double-click on one of them, iTunes asks me to manually point to the file, and when I do, it asks me to find the rest of the "!" from the songs I did. The problem is, although all the others '! ' songs are also in the folder 'root', iTunes simply cannot find an any of them on its own! Frustrating. If I add the missing files via file-> add files to the library, iTunes will create an entry duplicated them on the list, as if they were different files.

No idea how I can return this mess and make iTunes to find the missing pieces? The only thing I can think to use SharePod program to save all the songs from my iPod to a new folder and Redo from scratch iTunes library from there, but then I would lose how my songs are displayed in the library (most recently added first), as all files would be added now at roughly the same time. I rather would not lose it.

    I use iTunes 12.3.1.

    Thank you very much!

I suspect that iTunes has updated some of its references to point to the new locations that it would have copied files if you had not interrupted the process. See Re: files change media for advice on fixing systematically broken links. See make a split cell library for more information on the ideal organization to an iTunes library. Consolidation of copies any file outside the currently designated in the media folder and update iTunes so that it uses the new copy thereafter. Consolidated files are copied into the presentation standard of the artist and album folders that are also used for what it is torn, converted or downloaded with iTunes.

  • Bridge mode breaks down wireless network

I have a Time Capsule of 4th generation, I am creating an additional wifi network at the back of my house to cover a dead zone. I'm not trying to extend an existing wifi, I seek to create a new wifi network but have it on the same network range as my network existing.

My ISP is a router that I have in my basement that has wireless on it. . It powers up to one router links AC that all my devices connect to. Then, this device provides wired and wireless access to most of the House. However, I have a task of dead at the back of the House for the wifi. So I have an Ethernet cable, which goes to the back of the House and who connects in port WAN on the Apple Airport Extreme / Time Capsule (4th gen). If I set this device to create a new wireless network in bridge mode, it works for about 20 minutes to an hour and then causes a sort of problem on my network and all my other devices go crazy. If I disable the router from Apple or back to NAT, everything's fine.

The only reason why I don't want to do this NAT device is because if I put it up to NAT then devices connected to the apple Airport extreme will have more access to the apple TV on the main network.

So I need no more shots on why the bridge mode does not work on the router from apple or I need to know how to get Apple TV visible on two different IP ranges at the same time. Unfortunately, the Apple TV can be connected to both wifi and wireless at the same time.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Bridge should work fine... I would suspect that your TC gives signs of decomposition.

It is now more than 3 years old which is the best before date.

Try again using static IP method... I think it is more successful than the bridge.

Should be enough information in this post... but if not just give me all the IP info from the existing modem router to. I can then give you specific info to set the TC.

  • Blank Superhub & TC Bridge Mode

    Hi all

I am based in the United Kingdom and e through our internet a blank Superhub (handset cable modem / router) I want to connect my TC and use the network wireless of my TC, but maintain the Superhub wireless as well.

I implemented the TC mode bridge on the network tab. I was then the port connection WAN on the TC to the Superhub, but it kept crashing the superhub. So, I went and connected to one of the LAN of TC ports to the port ethernet on the Superhub.

It connects okay and I can get on the network without wire of TC, but it will not allow internet access. When I unplug the TC, I have to reset the router.

Any help appreciated. All of this used to work very well, and then the Superhub has physically changed by Virgin for a update.

I have not changed anything in the Internet tab in the AIrport utility, do I have to?

Other objects related to the Superhub are a Bridge Sonos and Apple TV (both wired).

    Thank you

The TC is defined to create a wireless network... SHOULD NOT EXTEND wireless.

Although I doubt that it would be even possible to put in place this way.

The internet tab must be configured for DHCP... but let me suggest another installation program that I find my best.

    Static IP address.

I did a very complete post here with details.

Re: time capsule Airport Guard disconnection

If you need assistance please give me real info of the Virgin router... its IP address and the DNS and gateway, you found on the client machines.

From this, I can give you together more specific instructions.

  • Using the Airport Express Terminal as a bridge

I would like to get video Amazon on my older Blu - ray player. I was wondering if I could use my old AirportExpress (1st generation) as a bridge. Now my new Comcast modem connects to my Time Machine that gives me my wireless connection. I tried to connect to the airport & connecting to my Blu - ray via ethernet cable, but I just get a flashing yellow light and the DVD on the screen tells me just the internet connection failed. Is this possible?

Now my new Comcast modem connects to my Time Machine that gives me my wireless connection.

I think that you wanted to say that you have a Time Capsule that produces the signal of your wireless network, correct? (Time Machine is a software on your Mac used to back up the Mac on another hard drive).

I was wondering if I could use my old AirportExpress (1st generation) as a bridge.

In 'bridge', do you mean you want the AirPort Express to receive a wireless signal of the time and then wireless Capsule to deliver one Ethernet signal to the DVD player?

The answer is 'yes' to the offer that you really have a 1st generation AirPort Express. To check, look for the model number on the side of the Express in the small print. It starts with an "A" followed four digits. A 1st Gen AirPort Express is A1264 model number. What is the number that you see?

I tried to connect to the airport & connecting to my Blu - ray via ethernet cable, but I just get a flashing yellow light and the DVD on the screen tells me just the internet connection failed

Assuming you have a 1st Gen Airport Express, the device must be set up and configured to work with time Capsule. The AirPort Express doesn't quite work simply by plugging.

Would help if we could get the exact message you see. You will probably need to change the DHCP-range on the AirPort Extreme to a different value, and then use the option 'Ignore' the Double NAT then the airport will show a green light.

You will have to live with the Double NAT if you want AirPort Extreme to act as a remote router that provides a private network.
