Constant video file freezes

Whenever I have play video files saved on my computer, that they constantly freeze during playback. Most of the files are .avi, but I have files of several types. I tried on several media players city WMP and VLC, and the results are always the same. The video freezes every 3-4 minutes throughout the entire file for 1-2 minutes at a time, which makes very bad video.

This does not work with streaming videos. YouTube, Netflix and others of this type of video display of any length without problems. It seems that it is only the videos that I play that are saved on my hard drive.

Also, don't know if related, but it tends to be freezes with other media as well. My old and sound recorder Spotify also constantly freezing. Not sure if this is related, but thought I would mention in case it might help.

Thanks in advance!

Hello

  1. Videos played much earlier?
  2. Did you make any changes before this problem?

I suggest you try this method and check the status of the issue.

Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

  • Windows Explorer hangs and crashes on (tried everything) video files

So I've had this problem for awhile now and it does not seem to deteriorate. Every time I open a folder in Windows Explorer that contains video files (of any type), YOU start to have problems. The Green loading bar starts to take forever, or if that manages to load properly, then doing ANYTHING with these files will result in US gel and ends up crashing. No matter if it is just a right-click, trying to highlight, trying to move, try to remove or trying to open. They all get the same answer.

Things I've tried and the results:

-Set the folder options to never display thumbnails (bar is no longer a problem too bright green)

-Set options folder for general documents

-Tried to optimize files with videos to video

    -Switched back to General

    -Ran of virus/malware scans (clean)

-Never allowed cache, the nooks and the crannies of unnecessary files

-Uninstall unused programs on C:\ for free space

    -Defragged everything

-Uninstalled and reinstalled each video player

-Uninstalled and reinstalled all my codecs, as well some as superfluous jic

-Have toggled between every possible program by default, VLC seems more reliable (see the note below VLC), Quicktime least WMP and DivX uneven at best

-Ran msconfig and methodically unchecked/restarted and then double checked / restart all services and the start of the program (no change)

-Ran SFC Scannow (no reported problem)

-Booted safe mode (no difference, we HAVE still freezes on video files, don't say anything about the running server error)

-Use a directory of third-party files (Q - dir) to access files, Q - dir froze after right click on videos

-Use a video converter to convert videos between file types, now accessible but converted videos seems not to to material they are converted into - in addition, nonconverted original suddenly too much work very well, but ONLY those that are accessible by the converter

-Used VLC to find and open the video files. Œuvres, but only one at a time, that is, if I try to open another video file after the first in the same window of VLC, VLC freezes. Need to close the program, and then reopen the program to open a new file without freezing. Recently opened files of VLC are accessible via Windows Explorer without freezing (note, the accessibility seems temporary, filed consulted with VLC a few days ago to return to the State unclickable).

-Note on VLC: may seem to move and delete files using the VLC browser without problem, but ONLY before opening any file - after VLC must be closed and then reopened as previously reported

And Yes, I turned it works several times.

I feel that I've tried everything, and the problem seems to be growing. I feel like there must be a problem with the way that we, I don't know, compiling data on files or something, but I don't have enough background tech to get past this wave and completely unnecessary idea.

Oddly enough, everything else on my computer is fine. Non-video-folder navigation is fine, no lag or freeze, programs starts quickly, internet connection is fine, browser videos play without problem and when I can get the video file plays on something they play very well - just good luck for their.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm about to tear my hair out.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

As you said you are not facing this problem to boot, it means that you are facing this problem due to a third-party application.

If you are referring to the steps in the link below under 8.1 and Windows 8 Windows in 3 steps , after you check the box against hide all Microsoft services. You will see a list of non-Microsoft services, you need to check the cause of these services.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Uncheck half the service and check the rest of the half.  If you face the question yet, then it menas that you are facing this issue due to services that were not invalid.

  • 6.3 LR will not import if there is a video file

I use Lightroom autonomous 6.3 on OSX 10.10.5

I thought I had a few different issues, but I wrote this post I've lived a pretty meticulous attempt to reproduce the problem and I reduced to a problem with the video files. If I have a video file in the same folder or a subfolder in the same folder as a file I am trying to import then it is impossible to import the file. The progress bar freezes and nothing will happen until I cancel the import. Once it happened to quit lightroom will result in a blockage that requires a force quite. As soon as I move the video files so that they are not in the same folder or a subfolder of the same file, then import will work very well and leave the program happens without a blocking. I also noticed that it has the same behavior, even if the video file is not in the same folder or a subfolder, but is on the same map and you are trying to import from the devices section of the import dialog box. Try to import by clicking on the card memory under devices, and even if the video file is not in the same folder or a subfolder, the import fails. On the contrary if I switch to the files section and choose the folder that contains the image files, but no video file, then import will work well. Directly import a .mp4 file also failed.

This problem has now been fixed! (the title of the error is false, but it worked for me)

    Hello

I am creating a menu very simple in CS6 again for my DVD. All I want is a short clip playing in the background and a play"button".

I drag in an empty Menu wide and do drag my audio and video files menu. When I saw this that everything works as expected, the video and music play.

However, when I add a button "play", the video background freezes (not the music, he plays very well). The video is here on the first image, but does not play.

It makes me mental so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I forgot what is obvious at the first step! Laughing out loud. You can do this before preview (file-> Render-> motion menus) or the icon in the preview window.

  • Put links to video files in web pages - want option 'Open with' when the viewer clicks on the links.

If I go to a video file that is stored in my computer, for example xyz.mp4 and right click on it, one of the options is 'Open with' and several options for example QuickTime player, RealPlayer are presented for me to choose. But when I add the file to a web page and create a link to it for example http://sillyvideos.com/xyz.mp4 and then I right click on this link (on the web page) in my Firefox browser, I don't get the option 'open with '. My question is: is it possible to put a link to a video in a web page, so I or other viewers can click right on it and benefit from the option 'open with' (so we can choose the drive to open it, without having to download first in our computers)?

Normally what happens, is that the server sends the content with one or more headers that dictate what Firefox did with the video.

For example, if the content is sent with a header that Firefox can play internally, then Firefox can open the video in a tab and use a built-in player. You can see with MP3s when the server says that it is "audio/mpeg" content. However, if the server sends a content type that a capable of handling plugin, Firefox can attempt this plugin.

Normally Firefox will assume that the content is meant to be displayed in the browser, unless it is an unknown type or has a content-disposition header set to "attachment". In these cases, Firefox usually has open/save/Cancel dialog box.

I don't know what kinds of choices you want to offer visitors to your site, but if you thought giving them a choice of the players external , sending to content-disposition: attachment to make appear the probably the most logical open/save/Cancel dialog box. With smaller files such as JPEG and PDF, I did it with a script on the server side (for example, a PHP script). I don't know if the script would work with multimedia files.

If you want to provide more choices, you might need the buttons or links in the page.

This example applies to a PDF file, but the same idea applies to the image files and it can work with files more mainstream media. (In this case, you change the script to specify the correct content type.)

Implementation of the PHP approach, you follow these steps. This assumes that your server supports PHP (most do so) and that your Web host allows you to download PHP files.

    (1) save the following as getpdf.php file

    http://www.jeffersonscher.com/RES/getpdf.php.txt

    (2) using a FTP software or your server download function, copy getpdf.php into the same folder as your PDF file

    (3) test with your link. In the address bar, or in an e-mail, insert the following text before the name of the PDF file:

    getpdf.php?f=

Thus, for example, this direct link to the PDF:

    http://www.jeffersonscher.com/RES/Mixed_Content_Blocking.PDF

would become this link to the PHP file:

    http://www.jeffersonscher.com/RES/getpdf.php? f =Mixed_Content_Blocking.pdf

  • Firefox does not remember volume level on flash for example of YouTube videos files, why?

Audio and video files always start playing at full volume, rather than to remember the previous volume. Disable all add-ons does not solve the problem, and the problem does not exist when I use other browsers. I tried to go into the settings of my flash (local and global when right-clicking on a video) and say things to allow the storage of data on my hard drive, but it also has not solved the problem.

Some flash videos in fact retain the status level / mute volume, but YouTube, DailyMotion and others are not among them even if they are working correctly when I use Chrome. This is extremely irritating because it resets the volume up during playback of the playlist.

I noticed just now that you somehow seem to be two versions of the Flash Player installed. Perform a new installation of the latest version as follows.

    1. From the next page, save the program uninstall handy somewhere, like the office.

    2. In the next page, save the installer for other browsers. If you are also using Flash Player in Internet Explorer, also save the ActiveX version.
    3. Close all applications.
    4. Launch the uninstaller.
    5. In Windows Explorer, try to open the following folders. If they exist, delete them manually.
      • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\
      • %AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\
      • %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\
    6. Restart your computer.
    7. Run the Setup program for the other browsers.
    8. Run the installation of the ActiveX program if you downloaded it.

Today, however, whenever I click on one, it will open in a Firefox window. I went to tools > Options > Applications and modified manually MP4 to open in Quicktime. But files still open in the window of Firefox, making it impossible to open 2 files for comparison.
