Contact iPad

I have updated the contact on the iPhone, but it does not show the update on iPad.  What is the reason?

Both devices use the same Apple ID iCloud?

Check the settings > iCloud > Contacts on both devices.

  • The contact in my iPhone didn't appear on the iPad with facetime

MY sister has a new iPad. Its coordinates are in my iPhone with FaceTime listed, but not in my iPad. How can I fix this please?

    Greetings Gillie69,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

From your question, I understand you're able to FaceTime your sister from your iPhone by typing its name, but you can't do that on your iPad because its coordinates are not on the iPad.

If this is correct, you can add coordinates to your iPad using the information in the following article.

  • Have just iPhone 4S. Can't sync contacts from my iMac/iPad?

I try to sync the Contacts from my iPad and iMac for my newly purchased (used) iPhone 4S. When I go to iTunes on Mac, I offer "iPhone sync" and then nothing happens.  I guess it's possible? The Mac has v 10.11.16, and the iPhone has 9.3.5.

It doesn'[t seem to work in the opposite diurection either - I added a few contacts in the iPhone and they do not appear in the Contacts on the Mac.]

    Sync works with Notes, well.

    Any help is appreciated!

You can use iCloud to synchronize Contacts.

On the iPhone and the iPad: settings > iCloud > Contacts on

On Mac: Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Contacts on

All changes to the contacts on any device should automatically synchronize with others.

  • How to sync contacts from iMac iPad and iPhone

I did clean and fill my Contacts on iMac (version 10.11.6) and then I tried several times to synchronize these (81 cards) with Contacts on my iPad and iPhone (SE).
Whenever I do it (via iTunes) I don't get all the 81 cards on other devices and becomes changed my correct Contacts on my iMac.

I just installed iCloud, but the mess just gets bigger.

If possible, I would prefer to use iTunes for this operation.

I can't find 'step by step' clear guidance how to do this.

Only a lot of conversation and advice that increase only my confusion.

I wonder if it wouldn't be better to first delete all Contacts to iPad and iPhone and then 'move' (how?) my Contacts iMac iPad and iMac.

But I can't even delete the Contacts of the iPad and the iPhone in 'single action' I prefer not to delete these addresses one by one.

Please be so kind as to help and know that I am far from an expert in the software, so I prefer the simple tips "step by step".

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Muizen,

The official way 'Apple' is now really use iCloud.

I would export all your contacts to your iMac like this: http://osxdaily.com/2015/07/14/export-contacts-mac-os-x/

Then delete all the contacts of all the devices you have

Then turn on iCloud contacts on all of these devices

Then reimport your contacts previously exported to your iMac and it must synchronize everywhere.

  • iPad not composed of phone numbers in Contacts

I have an iPad and iPhone, both running the most recent iOS10. Both have areas set in Australia.

In Contacts on the iPhone, all phone numbers are formatted correctly and new number added automatically gets the correct formatting.

On the iPad, all telephone numbers are not formatted: just a string of numbers without spaces.

    Things I've tried:

    • Power supply and switch on the iPad.
    • Reset the iPad
    • Turn off sync Contacts iCloud, remove contacts from the iPad, then re - synchronization from iCloud
    • ICloud signature, removing all of the iPad, then log in again
    • Change the region to the Austria (following in the list!) then back to the Australia

None of this worked, and phone numbers of the Contacts of the iPad are not formatted and everything gets new added number without formatting. I noticed that the "example of Format of the region" does not contain a phone number. Elsewhere defined telephone number format? If so, I have not found.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve =: ^)

I can add to the list of things I've tried:

    • In iTunes, restore the iPad as a new iPad and, without restoring all the data from iCloud, open contacts, add a new contact and added a phone number and the telephone number had no formatting.

I don't know what I can do next, other than to return the iPad as faulty.

  • iTunes sync contacts to iPad fails

Recently updated for iTunes 12.4.3.1 on the MBA and iOS 9.3.4 9.3.2 on the iPad mini 2. When I try to sync the contacts between the two devices, new contacts are pulled in the MBA, but the sync to iPad fails with the following error message: "iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPad '< name >' because the synchronization server failed to synchronize the iPad." It seems to be failing at the last step in the process. The progress bar and the messages go through 5 or 6 steps successfully before this failure (I tried, I watch more than once.)

Before these updates, he worked successfully. I really don't want to Wade my contacts via iCloud. The thoughts of a user plus-expert on how to fix? Any prospect of getting the sync to work if I replace all the contacts on the iPad with those on the MBA (only one on the page to synchronize the information).

    Thank you!

    Hello silentflyer,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand your message that you are no longer able to sync your contacts using iTunes to your iPad mini. I know how important to manage your contacts is up to you. One step is to try to synchronize only contacts as suggested in the article below:

12 iTunes for Mac: synchronize contacts, calendars, and other information with iPod, iPhone or iPad

If you have sync issues, try only some synchronization information. For example, uncheck the boxes next to synchronization on the components of music, Photos, Podcasts and video, and try to synchronize only the news.

My Contacts iPad2 icon is gray with a label of "Contacts" or "Waiting"... "The icon, if held pressed offers the possibility to delete the Contacts application, if you press the x on the people icon (who does not appear) I get a warning that all data will be deleted, by pressing DELETE but does not delete the APP.

I tried upgrading the OS to version 9.3.3 13G (34), still no difference.

I changed Contacts synchronize icloud to Google... no difference.

    The iPad is NOT jailbroken.

The Contacts application is the native Apple one and not a 3rd party download.

    Hello, RobbyNRW_Germany!

Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities. After reading your post, I understand that your app is not open very long - it will close unexpectedly after only a few seconds. I see as you have updated your iOS, force to leave the app and restart your iPad, but none of these steps have fixed the problem for you. I rely on access to my Contacts app every day, so I definitely want to make sure yours is accessible!

You already crossed some great troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the problem, so my recommendation here is the following. Each of these steps one to try in time and test after each is finished.

    1. Reset all the settings on your iPad under settings > general > reset > reset all settings. This removes any of your data, but it will return customizable settings (such as your background screen and display brightness, alert sounds and the Date and time settings) to the factory settings. It will also remove any Wi - Fi networks and saved passwords and delete all APN or VPN parameters used previously.
    2. Back up your iPad using iCloud or iTunes, and then restore the iPad to factory settings. If you don't know how to back up your iPad, the article below will guide you through the two iCloud and iTunes. Choose the option that suits you best.

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Once you have saved it, follow the steps in the following article to restore your iPad with iTunes on a computer by default.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

    3. Configure the iPad like new (without restoring your backup, at least temporarily) when it goes to the default values. You can connect to iCloud, iTunes and App Store, iMessage and FaceTime with your Apple ID. Then test the app to see if it still crashes. If this is not the case, go ahead and restore your backup by following the steps described in the article in the link below.

  • How to get my contacts from my iPhone and ipad to update my iMac

    Hello

As far as I can tell, I have my contacts updated in place to sync between my iPhone and iMac.  I have 193 contacts on my iPhone and iPad.

On the iPhone and the iPad, they show that the

    All the iCloud

two groups I created, family and a working group, the two appear under that.

on my iMac, I see 36 contacts and a mismash of groups which are old.

Thus, it seems that my contacts are not synchronized to the iMac.  In iCloud on my iMac, I have verified contacts.

I don't know what else to do.  Any suggestions?

    Michelle

    Hello BellaMichelle,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how important it is to have your contacts consistently on all of your devices, especially if you need stay in touch throughout the day. I will do all I can to help. Looks like you have configured correctly the things, but synchronization may have just gotten hung up.

One of the easiest ways we can try to kick start things must simply sign your Mac off iCloud and then again to make a new connection. After a few minutes, the contacts should begin to update. To do this, you can open your system preferences, click the iCloud and click Disconnect. Your Mac will give you the option to keep or remove certain information. Whenever the option is available, do not forget to click on "continue on my Mac.

Once you have disconnected, go ahead and reboot then reconnect and give contacts for a few minutes to download and update.

If they are not always appear, while he would have to do is go to iCloud on a computer using this link: iCloud.  When you are there, click on Contacts and see if they all appear correctly there.

The entire community is here to help.

  • How to copy my address book Thunderbird to my Contacts of the Ipad?

I use Thunderbird at home, but use my Ipad to send Emails when outdoors. I don't want to get into all my contacts manually, so how do I copy them to my Ipad contacts folder?

I don't know anything about the iPad, but the question boils down to:

    (a) which can import the request or the iPad e-mail address book?
    (b) whose answers to (a) bogus Thunderbird generate?

Thunderbird can generate files LDIF and CSV with an appropriate add-on, vCard files. How would physically load you these in the iPad, even if they were compatible? Is viable wifi or bluetooth heat transfer between the two devices?

The iPad can sync with any system of external contacts, such as the Google Contacts?

This article gives suggests that some Apple products can work with data in CSV, LDIF and vCard.

I suspect that the most likely approach vCards that works is to send attachments to email in Thunderbird, and to open and accept vCards on the iPad.

    You will need this add-on:

    https://NIC-NAC-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

    to generate vCards in Thunderbird.

  • Export notes and Contacts from an iPad

I inherited my daughter iPad and wishes to preserve its contacts and notes, preferably in PDF form that it is possible to the iMac. I prefer not to incorporate DO NOT contact with my contacts, while adding that his notes to my existing notes would be OK. The iPad is still on her iCloud account.

If these two are already synchronized via iCloud, you wouldn't necessarily need to export anything. This implies you want to clean the unit and set up like yours (on your AppleId, not her). Just don't remove them until you sign out of his account iCloud.
