  I just got the iPhone 7 more (iOS 10.0.1) and I have a 42mm stainless steel with watch OS 3.0 Apple Watch.

  Since yesterday, when I get the text message/imessages the watch does not appear the name of the contact, just the phone number. On my iPhone, it appears with the name, as always.

  I tried to restart my watch and my iPhone, but it did not help. I also tried resets hard on both devices, no luck.

  My wife has an iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Sport and she has the same problem.

  We did not see this problem when we had our iPhone 6s and 6 s more on iOS 10.

  The battery seems to also take a lot faster the last two days, since getting the iPhone 7 more.

  Looks like you are unable to see the name of your contacts on your Apple Watch even after its restart, but your phone shows it is very good. I would then say that disable you pairing the watch to your phone with this article:

I just added a few contacts to my iphone race 5 the latest iOS, and when I find or search in the list, they appear.   I understand your position when you add a contact on your iPhone 5 it does not appear in the Contacts application, but appears on your Mac. I know how important it is that you are able to see all the contacts that you create on your iPhone.

  I check the Contacts and make sure that all groups are selected. Press Contacts > groups (upper-left). Make sure that all your groups have a control on the right side. Also, make sure you see hide all Contacts. If you see all the Contacts, click View all Contacts.

  Then, in the morning, after you have enabled automatic updates, I noticed the yellow shield - Windows security icon (or whatever it's called), so I clicked on it and checked it was tellimg me was available [when I checked "Custom Install (advanced users)"].  What showed was 1 update - 955759 KB.
   
  After the problem, already at the reformat (months and months), see the yellow shield telling me there are updates available, which were already installed (before rebooting), I checked manually on the internet with IE 8, pressing alt, "T", "U".  There is no updated list.  Then I checked through my history of update (twice), and KB955759 had not been installed.

  Just for the heck of it, I have disabled the automatic updates, cleared my browser cache, checked manually, updates from microsoft (windows) and found none (with the exception of software malware removal tool windows [which I have not installed]).  Then, I turned the automatic updates on, and without even being connected to the internet, the yellow shield popped up with the kb955759 "update"...

  1. If you open Internet Explore (only!) to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and run a CUSTOM scan, KB955759 appears in results?... If so, you manage to install it and/or security updates available?

  OPTION A:

  1. stop the automatic updates service:

  Start > run > (type or copy/paste) services.msc > click OK
  Double-click automatic updates > click stop
  (Stopping the service will take a moment)

  2 remove the contents of the download folder:

  Start > run > (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > click OK
  
  Open the download folder and delete its content
  Close the window.

  3. start the automatic updates service:

  Start > run > (type or copy/paste) services.msc > click OK
  Double-click automatic updates > click Start
  (Starting the service will take a moment)

  1. open Internet Explorer (only!) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336 [don't know the titles, etc..]

  It is a waiting Group network Invitation causing your problem. To resolve this issue, you must decline the Invitation by following these steps:

  1. click on Contacts.
  2. click on discovers invitations.
  3. click on groups.
  4. click on No, thank you.

  It's called "AutoComplete".
  Windows Mail remembers the LAST 29 names that you used for emailing.
  Next time when you type, say, B in the column to, Windows Mail the research paper and displays a list of names began with the letter B. The list may include names not in your contact list, but you sent e-mail to the names.
  That must be the reason why you saw an address that was not in your contacts list. You have sent an email to this address.
  Remember, Windows Mail keeps only the last 29 names. So finally the 'undesirables' addresses will be gradually.
