    Why is it so difficult to find help from someone who actually works for RIM?

    I sent a theme yesterday amd then imported the same theme release to support most of the devices.  My problem is that I did not know that add support for devices more would win another credit (as caosts me $20).    When I imported the release to support multiple devices, he already had the original version inside.

    It's something that your carrier will have to help you.

    Call them and report it.  They can block the PIN, SIM and in some countries, the IMEI, which makes the phone virtually useless to the thief.

    There is a bug in NDK 1.0 with localized Windows versions and the signature. This bug has been fixed in NDK 2.0, which should be published very soon. You can also use the beta version 3 If you can't wait for the release of the NDK 2.0 GA.

    Unfortunately, you will need to ask new SJC files and resave.

    I received the signing keys and followed the instructions provided. I used Eclipse to sign the apps, but it does not work (message "unsigned" was shown). However, I was able to sign the application using JDE. After that, I uninstalled the signing keys in order to start over with the instructions. Then I wanted to save the keys to signature on the same machine, but the following message is displayed: «...» »

    You can not install the keys of RIM signing more than once. Once you install the RIM signing keys, 3 files get generated in the bin folder of the computer JDE target (signtool.db, signtool.csk, signtool.set).  You must be this copy and put in you JDE version bin respective folder for the signature of the COD files.

    As fars as I know if you lose these 3 files generated, it is impossible to recover. Better communicate with the service the customer of RIM and get their advice. Maybe they will remember your key and send new signing keys.

    Also, please update that is recommended in this case RIM process because it will help others to be careful when using RIM signing keys.

  • SignatureTool the corrupting cod file

    I'm deploying my application OTA and I am required to sign the cod, rename it to zip and unzip it to the directory of my url. The problem is that my SignatureTool seems to be corrupting the file of cod resulting in a compressed file can not be unzipped. If I don't sign the cod file and go through the process, I can successfully decompress the zip file and install the application, but then I can't run the application because of unsigned files.

    Also, when I opened the SignatureTool after having signed it, I receive «The Version of the code file does not match the version of SignatureTool.» Contact RIM. "I have to clean up the project and re - build the project until I'm able to run the SignatureTool again.

    If it makes any difference, I use the BB plugin in Eclipse and develop the OS 4.3 +.

    I've been using Eclipse 3.4.

    After discussing with the support of the RIM and try a new set of keys, we discovered that my sigtool.jar must be corrupted. So I do a complete reinstallation of Eclipse.

  • BES integration tests

    Hello, this is my first post and I hope that it is headed in the right forum. I'm working on software that will perform the archiving of e-mails. We have developed a MAPI wedge which is installed on the BES server to help the reconstruction of e-mail archvied stubs. Long story short, I'm trying to test some new changes with BES 5.0.3.

    Part 1 of my tests is to create a functional environment and predictable BES that we test our shim of. I have not yet tried to install our software, just trying to get a test method implemented so I can spot any strange behavior.

    Our 4.1.7 tests went somewhat along the lines of stop BES Services, send a message to an Exchange user, allow our archiving software strip the body and attachments of the message. Once it is in this State, test the reconstruction to start services and connect the Simulator as well as synchronization messages.

    Suppose for a moment that our software works very well. I currently trying this with BES 5.0.3 and cannot get a BES predictiable behavior. I use the BlackBerry and MDS with BlackBerry Desktop Manager Simulator to activate and synchronize messages. I can activate the device very well, and when the Simulator is connected via USB all new messages I receive appear in my Inbox on the phone. This part is fast and works perfectly.

    If I disconnect the USB Simulator and send a message, I understand the limitations of the Simulator, I need to plug it into USB to receive new messages, this worked well to 4.1.7, but in this case, all messages received by the mailbox at the time the Simulator was not connected via USB are never delivered.

    The only time I get a message on the phone is when connected via USB. Is this correct?

    Also since I took the time to create this account I'll ask a few other questions that were really annoys me.

    Why the mailbox not to fill anything? After activation, you get an empty mailbox on your phone.

    Are messages updated on the phone during a synchronization, or is static content, once the message has been downloaded to the phone?

    Is there a newspaper, I can see that shows BES get the message and then pushing him to the device?

    The BlackBerry smartphone Simulator must be connected via the USB port to send and receive messages using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.  It is the expected behavior.

    I can answer some of your questions of BES.  I recommend ones I don't have in our forum of BES, where the real BES experts see him post.

    By sync, are you referring to synchronize using the Desktop Manager?  If so, messages are not being updated or modified when you do this.  The device/Simulator requires direct contact with the BES to any change to happen (mark read/not read, etc...).  The message content may vary as you view the message.  Only the first 2 k of a message is sent to the device initially.  As read you the message, it downloads additional content in the background.

    The SRP ID to a BES can be moved from one facility to the other, but can be active on a BES at a time.  If you run two BES with the same ID of SRP your SRP ID will be disabled at the level of the BlackBerry Infrastructure and you must contact RIM to re - activate.

    The other day I put in place the siging code for Tablet in flashbuilder 4.

    Finally got my application ready to submit and when I went to sign did not work, he says "You have not saved your credentials for code signing" in the installer.   • Dev native BB in IBM RAD with WebSphere application?

    I work for a company that is internally our native code for our application. We have a thin client with all our web-tier in Java EE with IBM RAD and WebSphere.

    I havn't been able to get the BB SDK to download correctly rad in the ' help > software updates section. because it gives me a message of page 5 of unsatisfied dependencies.

    Is there a way I can get the BB SDK works correctly in RAD, or what I need to install Eclipse separately and make development in Eclipse.

    I just discovered the package browser.field of Blackberry and explored the same. However, was not able to find a good tutorial about it. I read somewhere that the sample coupled with the jde can help.

    I just get a blank on the emulator screen and nothing else. I tried debug code and found that the _mainScreen has a VerticalFieldManager that holds a HTMLBrowserField, but I wonder why it is not made.

    Also, if anyone has a better example to explore, it would be really nice...

    I used the example of the BrowserContent and BrowserContentManager classes.

    However, I realized that I had not signed the cod files prior to their execution on the emulator, and so no content has been read. Once I registered to them, he started to work perfectly well.

    I had missed on the signature part of the cod from the JDE himself suggested documentation files:

    I just finished my frst app, I tried to deploy to my curve, but couldn't do it, and I discovered that I have to request and save a signature for that.

    After completing the 3 files I tried to register several times some trials succeeded for the first file and missed for 2 other files and now its geeting this error.

    "Failed to register the customer 1442906160 because there is no attempt to save some more, if you are already registered with this server, then you must contact RIM to register the additional user.

    Is a means new key files and how to contact RIM, sorry iam new to BB development

    I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you need to get in touch with your service provider and insist that they honor the formal support that they are contractually required to provide you with. Do not let you fob before having 100% solved the situation. If they tell you to contact RIM, don't let them not on the hook, then either... insist that they tell you exactly how you should contact RIM. If they say anything OTHER that they will increase you rim (for example, if they tell you to independently seek the support of the RIM), and then accept it. Only through an escalation of your service provider can you receive all official support from RIM.

    Looks like they have made significant changes to their network... and they must ensure that their paying customers will continue to receive the services that they pay.
