Contrast

Another thing on the Apple system which is p * ing me off is the use of a gray text on a white background.  Apple used to be so good at presentation and graphics, but they seem to have lost the ball.  Many dedicated users Apple shipped on board, in 1985, when the first Mac Plus came out and hit the poorest with Visual acuity.  Think of us please!

You don't talk to Apple. This is a user forum.

  • How to solve the problem of low contrast pages in case of low vision?

  • On the right side of the br5owser, there is a scroll bar, the scroll bar is not no matter what a contrast and is almost invisible, can't find it?

Have seen other issues similar to mine and they can be on the same issue, but they say that the scroll bar disappears, in fact, it's still there but almost invisible. Try to click on it without knowing the exact location to cause the uncontrolled scrolling page. Other issues advised people to restore their browser by default, but that did not help at all. Had this same problem for about 6 of the latest versions of firefox, all say in the 1930s versions. I tried adding contrast high Windows as an experiment, but that did not help at all either. Been trying help for awhile and just now decided to ask myself a question as the other speakers may have given or answerers may think it is resolved.

In searching through help files it has led me to find a space based theme for the browser that I enjoy, but does not solve issue of course, so... all is not lost. Took a jpg of the image of the browser that shows the issue and am trying to upload it but looks like it is stuck in upload mode. Ugh "high speed" , anyhow maybe it uploaded and is not showing, the bar on the right is about 3/4 of the way down the side if you can see it, almost invisible.

    Core-el,

    Thank you
Discovered it was my own question of system, but had to talk with others, before I realized how in the absence of mind my question was. Old system had control of contrast on the screen, and they have been set to 4 digits off the coast of 50 / 100. I wouldn't think that little would make a difference, because it doesn't have in all the other use of the browser, but he did. So was my system, actual physical hardware settings. Sorry for wasting your time but thanks much for all of your thoughts.

  • How to set the contrast of the screen of the iMac?

Bought a new light to the office where I have the iMac 27 ". Unfortunately, the light produced by this new device shines more directly on the screen of the iMac, does the old light. Thus, when the light is on, the iMac adjusts the contrast of the screen so that the display appears quite washed out. When I turn on the light, the iMac readjusts the contrast to normal. (No, I can't adjust the position of the device, it is mounted directly on the desktop in the only possible way.)

This seems to be an automatic adjustment of the iMac. At least, I can't find any sort of manual for setting the contrast. Is it possible to do so. Create a new color profile? Another tool?

    Thank you!

    Steve,

You have a "automatically adjusts brightness" setting in system preferences > displays > display...?

Automatically adjust the brightness or Ambient light compensation (depending on your screen)

If your Mac has detection of ambient light, you can have the brightness of the screen automatically adjust according to the current light conditions.

  • Years, I used iPhoto to edit my images-Lighten/Darken, sharpness, contrast, highlights/shadows points. Now since I upgraded to OS x 10.11, pictures replaced iPhoto. Photos seems to have very little editing tools. What options now? Lightroom?

For years, I used iPhoto to edit my image - sharpness, contrast, highlights/shadows, Lighten/Darken points. Since the update to OSX 10.11, iPhoto has disappeared, replaced by pictures, which seems to have very little editing tools. I am disgusted. What are the options should I now? A friend suggested using Adobe Lightroom.

  • Why Windows high contrast doesn't work anymore since Firefox 29 and the theme of the Australia?

In firefox, 28 and all versions before that when I had Windows High Contrast active firefox would also be in high contrast. This would make black Web pages and all the text would become white. Because of my disability which makes it much easier for me to see and walk through it. Since firefox 29 and the introduction of the Australia theme but it seems like a high contrast in windows is no longer supported by firefox. That's why I went down to firefox 28 in order to be able to navigate as I used to.

There is a hidden value that needs to be modified in two places:

Go to Options > content > fonts look and colours, click on 'Advanced' > uncheck allow sites to choose the fonts and colors
    AND
Click on ok and the color... on the content page > uncheck the allow pages choose own colors other than above. Make sure that the background is black and white choice policies.

Under windows if you have high contrast mode, please also try "use system colors".

  • Increase the contrast with the blue light grey and highlighted slight defect

Side bookmarks bar by default, the colors are a light blue background and a light gray highlighted bookmark name. It is briefly underlined a deep blue that returns almost immediately to a light gray. The two colors are very similar and the gray highlight is hard to find when you return to the page. Personas change the colors of everything except this. Y at - it an order of esoteric to increase their contrast? Here's the website if it works: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/818/camels.png/ . This color is also in safe mode. It is not due to an add-on.

You can create a style rule in Firefox to change the colors in this area. In this thread, I gave an example that changes the background color of the bookmarks bar, thus the highest point is more visible, as shown in the attachment.

Foxfire 5 in Win 7 using I lost the highlighting of current BM in use (compared to win FF 5 XA)

  • How to adjust the contrast screen (HP Pavilion dv6-3225dx)?

Hello, the contrast on my screen in some sort I messed up, and I can't find out how to adjust it. Any help is very appreciated.

    Hey Nate,

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 too - I came across your post (and 'Help' of Viki), because my contrast was all out of whack, too (much too bright). Adjust the gamma is nothing - but then I unplugged the power cord from the laptop, waited a second and plugged back in and voila! It's all good now. Don't know why...

There is also this thread about changing the color settings - I have not tried what they said, but can be useful...

  • can I make the photo very well (i.e. the contrast or saturation) adjustments

updated snow leopard at el capitan & iphoto is completely different about the ability to adjust the contrast and exhibitions. Help?

You use iPhoto or Photos? The current iPhoto is certainly different from the version that was around with Snow Leopard, but the pictures, which is the new image management application, is very different from any version of iPhoto.

Here is how to set the contrast and brightness manually if you do not like the automatic settings. Once you have selected a photo, click on the button change. You will see the column of tools appear on the right.

  • Satellite Pro 440cdx - how can I change the brightness or contrast

My screen is weak and hard to see objects on the screen, any advice will be more welcome.many thanks for any help.

    Hello

The brightness of the display can be changed by pressing the FN or FN + F6, F7 key combination.
The contrast could not be changed on the screens of laptops that it is set automatically.

But if it of very difficult to see anything on the screen, then an FL inverter may default.
The fl inverter is a small part that controls the brightness of the display.
Maybe it s need to be replaced.

  • Cannot change the contrast, brightness, etc. on Satellite Pro 4600. Help please.

I can't control the contrast, brightness, Saturation etc... using the control panel of Trident in my Satellite Pro 4600. Could someone help me to activate these controls?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrea

    Hello Andrea,

normally, you can change this settigs in the Panel, but to explain the way to change this would be nice to know what operating system you have installed.

If you have the perinstalled Os, it might be that you have Win2000.

    Win2000:

Go to the control panel - display - Advanced control and then you could choose between video, color or television.

The Brightess could be changed to energy-saving, because the brightness depends on your setting of power.
Battery high brightness mode could reduce your battery power!

    Bye Bob

  • Auto contrast/brightness on Toshiba excited write

    Hello!

I have a problem with my new Tablet Toshiba excited write.
I disabled the auto brightness, but I see constantly changing the brightness/contrast in any case.
If I understand correctly this is a technology from Toshiba which is supposed to do.

On your page on the Tablet, it says:
    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/laptops/tablets/excite-write/

+ "Features Toshiba excited write a resolution PixelPure WQXGA 2560 x 1600 screen for movies, pictures, web pages and games with definition of clarity and dynamic. The display of a capacitive touch screen HD 25.7 cm (10.1) with scratch-resistant glass provides wide view angles and control precision, * while our exclusive technology adaptive screen adjusts the brightness and contrast to the surrounding light product.* «+»

How can I disable this function?

    Thank you
    Fredde

You can use the quick settings for frequently used settings.
Press on & keep the status icons area until a flashing line appears. Then slide down the line to open the quick Control Panel.
You should see the brightness option. Tap to set the brightness of the screen.

Also, in the power management settings, you will be able to set up profiles to individual.
Here, you can set the brightness of the screen too.

  • Satellite A50 543, too much contrast

    Hello
    I bought yesterday an A50-543.
After starting the laptop, I ve seen that the machine has too much contrast.

I changed the settings of Gamma Correction.
But in the default settings, the machine has a lot of contrast.

We t couldn't compare this notebook by another of the same series, because we don t have another!

The display is too great, but if I set the Gamma settings, everything is ok.

I think that s that the image must be normal without changing the Gamma settings.

What do you think is this Normal or not?

[Edited by: moderation of the Forum]

    Hello
Maybe there is something wrong with the Windows operating system installed?

I think the easiest way is, do a recovery (restore factory settings) to see if the default settings do a lot of contrast.

I hope that the laptop has no hardware failure.

    Good bye
