Control of backlight on the keyboard with the Publisher of the registry Windows 8

Is there a way to turn on/off backlit keyboard using the Win 8 64-bit registry editor?

If so any kind soul could give me a step by step guide?

I want to talk about my laptop Sony Vaio SVE1713M1EB, who used to have the Vaio Control Center for this option, but I have it deleted for some reason any.

So I would be very grateful if someone could guide me on this subject through the editor of the register if possible.

Thanks in advance!

No, the hardware features can be controlled on the registry.  It is stored in the motherboard.

  • Can I access the registry of a Windows installation on a disk that is not the main Windows disk?

The original installation was Windows 2000 Server. The old motherboard failed. The disc is fine.

There is information in the original register I want to import into the new registry of Server 2008.

Can I access this original registry if the drive on which he lives is seen as separated by another installation disc?

IE: I have the original disc of server installed on a PC bench. This PC bench sees the original server disk in drive E:

I am able to see the entire disk of the original server disk structure.

Can I access the registry Windows of this disc?

Can I export a few registry keys to import them into the new registry of the server?

    Yes.

You can do this by using Regedit and editing of your disk E: registry as a "hive" in your registry active.  To do this, follow the following procedure:

    • First, back up your current registry in case things go wrong.  Then
    • Start Regedit (start-> Run-> 'regedit')
    • Start Regedit, click once on 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' (or HKEY_USERS) to select
    • Select the file-> load hive
    • Navigate to the registry file you want to extract entries from and double-click it
      (Probably E:\Windows\System32\Config\...)
    • A window will appear asking a key name.  Enter something unique (I'll use "ABC" here)
    • Now, look in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE".  You will see an entry 'ABC '.  Navigate in this article and you will find entries to the registry hive that you selected.  You can now extract parts of it with the file-> export
    • Take what you want then once finished, click once on the entry 'ABC' and make a file-> unload the hive.
    • Exit Regedit
    • After the export of the files, use a text editor to edit the path in the exported file to where you want to put in your registry and double-click it to merge in.

Hope that this gets you where you want to be,

  • Satellite U940 - backlight on the keyboard in Linux

In addition to Windows 8, I installed Linux Mint 14 cinnamon on my Satellite U940-101 (now I have a sort of dual boot by activating the UEFI option in Bios power switch). Everything works fine, except for the lighting of the keyboard under Linux.

According to other forums, the only possibility to activate the backlight is to disable ACPI in the Bios. The problem is that in the Bios of the U940-101 (Bios Version 1.20), there is no option, at least I'm not and there is also that no Bios update available yet.
Does anyone know how to activate the backlight of the keyboard in these circumstances?

    Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, keyboard backlight is controlled by the specific tool of Toshiba and it is designed for Windows operating system only, so I put t think that the BIOS update will or can help you with this.

  • How can I activate the backlight for the keyboard? Pavilion dm4 2033 cl

I'm quite positive that my laptop has a backlight. However, I didn't need at the time and I turn it off. But now I can't turn it on. Initially, I remembered setting in power options, and that there is a small slider to adjust the brightness of the screen or the keyboard.  I could be wrong though, because I can't see the second slider to the brightness of the keyboard.

I tried everything I could find to get the light to turn on. I used the mobility Center, but there is no keyboard option. I tried the fn, fn + spaacebar, f5, and my keyboard is not a specialized key to set the backlight on the keyboard either.

Someone knows how to turn on the backlight?

Your laptop comes with a backlit keyboard. This feature is limited to only a few models selected. The brightness of the screen and the backlight on the keypad are completely different systems. Lighting is controlled by a special key on the keyboard and the brightness of the display can be controlled by two special keys on the keyboard.

The following illustration shows what looks like the backlight brightness and display keys.

Hello. I had my laptop for less than a week and the backlight for my keyboard stopped working. I was not able to find something to help me with this... is a simple switch to turn it on and off, or am I missing something?

    Thank you
    Alan

I put t know which model of laptop you have and what operating system you use, but, in general you can use the FN + Z key combination to toggle the backlight on the keyboard.

    Check it out.

If you are using Win7 open Toshiba Assist > Optimize > Toshiba hardware settings and you will find the keyboard backlight options.

If you use open Win8 Toshiba Desktop Help > function key and you will find the option for it.

    Check it out.
After what model of laptop and operating system are you using.

  • install the keyboard with encryption in mac

    Hello

I'm a new Mac user, so I apologize if the question seems fundamental (in fact, hopefully the solution is Basic). I have a Mac with OS X, 10.11.5 and I chose to have a Spanish keyboard with cable and encryption algorithms. In system preferences, I found how to change language, so I chose English as main language, then Spanish for the keyboard. I don - t know if it could be for this reason, but then I have m can use the signs around the keyboard (those that share the key with numbers and those who share the key with other signs). Is it possible to install the keyboard correctly? How can I set the signs so that they correspond with those printed on my keyboard?

    Thank you for the help,

    AR

Go to the sources of the system/preferences/keyboard and use the most and add buttons to add the keyboard called «Spanish ISO»  Then remove the one what we called "Spanish", so that only Spanish ISO is on the list.  See if that helps.  If this is not the case, let us know what keys do not produce a correct output.

  • Is it possible to connect and reconnect a keyboard with the computer on?

I have now 2 iMacs Office sitting side by side on my desk.  Since I want a keyboard with a numeric keypad on the right side, I found the only way to get that with an Apple keyboard with a USB connected keyboard.  Therefore, when I want to knit back and forth between macs, I have to unplug the keyboard of one and then plug it in another one - and back.  It would be a hassle to turn off mac whenever I need to do that, so I was wondering if it would damage a computer.  Two usb ports are usb powered external hubs.

There is no problem with the device on a keyboard with the computer and plug in another.  It's only external drives that need to be removed before unplugging.

  • Using the external keyboard with keyboard internal

    Hi people,

Just got my new Tecra S4-122, of course without a built-in numeric keypad, so I have such a thing too. The problem now is that I'm not able to use the numbers on the keyboard without having to activate the internal "keyboard" (letters using normal numbers), is not really useful, because I can't use it during the strike. Is there a solution to activate ONLY the external keyboard (Labtec thing on USB)?
