• Set up parental controls for 1 child on two computers

  Here's the scenario that I have and I would like some help to determine if it is possible to what I want to do.

  My wife and I just bought two Surfaces, one of her and for me.  We have a son who we know that we will share our devices with.  It will probably use his more than mine.  It has a Microsoft Account because he has an Xbox Live account, thanks to our family of Xbox subscription.  I wanted to lock him on Surface machines using parental controls, but here is where I am currently.

  (1) I have set up Microsoft account my son on the Surface of my wife and indicated that it is on behalf of a child when I did.

  (2) I used my wife's account to configure all settings families on behalf of my son, such as the allocation of time, hosted the games and sites, etc..

  (3) I signed up for the family web site by using the account of my wife and could see everything.

  (4) I then created Microsoft has my son on my own Surface, also indicating that it is on behalf of a child when I did.

  But now I'm stuck.  I was really hoping that the same settings we had a machine would be then on the other account, but appears not to be the case.  I don't see his machine within the parameters of the family and she can't see mine.  When I try to add him to my family, he said "this person has already been added to the parental control.  So, it is a primary, and so I am.  Here are my questions:

  (1) how can I set where I am primary and my wife is a secondary antibody (or at least a parent who may approve things)?

  (2) will be the security settings, we have set up the synchronization of one single machine with the other somehow or we must manually preserve us allowed applications, etc all in harmony between the two machines manually?

  What I mean by my statement is that as long as the child is managed by a single parental control (for example you as the account parent principal, manipulation of the child), the settings on the Web site will be synchronized on all machines).

  Regarding your second question, it would be necessary on behalf of primary parent to have a user account for both computers. It would be better if you remove parental control on both machines first configuration so the settings would be better implemented according to the configuration you prefer.

  This is the problem of design, the session remains active in the background, however, so the next time they connect, they can pick up where they left off without losing any of their work.

  In case if you complete the program, there is no these settings in the parental control to close the program, you can disconnect the program using the Task Manager.

  3. check the box for the account you want to delete.

• Time does not properly.

  The allocation of time does not work. The curfew works only in increments of 1 hour. The half hour makes no difference. We have 4 laptops with Win7 on them.

  Please make sure that the correct windows user name is labeled as handled in http://fss.live.com/. Also to ensure that the time on the computer is time settings that you have configured in http://fss.live.com/.

  You can also check if Windows Live family safety is defined as control of your child's computer provider. To check, you can follow these steps:
  1. click on the Start button
  2. go to the Control Panel, then select Panel of all elements
  3. choose Parental control
  4. a list of Windows users who are on this system will be shown under additional scrutiny, the drop-down list of choose a provider of worth Windows Live Family Safety.
  5 wait for the system to update, and then try if the time restriction will be applied.

  NOTE: You must log in as an administrator user to perform the above steps.

  My husband has his own laptop.  We discovered that she was for access to sites appropriate and immediately put in place the security of the family.  To do this, I had to set up parental controls on my computer and add it as a child, before I could set up parental controls on HIS computer.  Now that I did that, when I try to access to his PC, he only give me info of its activity on MY computer - which is none, because it has its own.  How do I put in place so that reports its activities on HIS computer?   Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!!  :)

  You will not be able to see the report of the child, if your child is connecting to a different user account which was not established in respect of the security for the family. Check if it is the problem.

  No matter how many times I add my child account to watch safely from the family, it does not work. The account appears in the list of monitored accounts and has the correct options I selected via the Family Safety however website when my child connects his account said "this account is not monitored by parental control.

  I deleted the computer AND the child of the Family Safety options site. I uninstalled and reinstalled parental control over the child's laptop computer but the account is STILL without oversight and shows via the control panel in Windows 7.

  When I log on the site of Family Safety on that account child watch the monitored account as 'white' "computername" when "in white" should be the account on the laptop.

  I found the answer on a long search of these forums...

  I had this problem because the computer name was the same as the name of my child's account. I changed the name of the computer to another one of his account on the computer and I was able to successfully activate Parental controls through parental controls on the computer.

• Cannot control printer HP 6510 directly from the computer

  I use the HP - 6510 B222a printer and used to be able to control all functions directly from the computer.  All options would appear in a window allowing me to select an assignment (printing, scanning, etc.).  All of a sudden, this option disappeared and now I can only control functions of the printer from the small screen on the printer itself.  Can someone help me with this problem?  I wish I could go back to control everything directly from the computer.  In addition, there is no way to determine the levels of ink on the computer screen.  Thanks for your help.

• Why doesn't control parental MS show zero (or scratch2cash) in Restrictions of App list that prevents me from setting to 'Allow' app for my child?

  MS parental control blocks the child from scratch, encoding software but I can't put it to "Allow" as zero (or scratch2cash) application is not indicated in the list of Restrictions of the App.

  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

  Recently downloaded scratch2cash and it can work under my usual login i.e. parent. Scratch2cash appears on the desktop when my daughter connects but requires parental consent when she double-clicked on it. I welcomed access directly on the screen using my password to allow access that scatch2 does not always work. I have also connected to Family Safety to define application scratch2cash.com on 'Allow', but as above it does not appear in the list.

  It's to do with other restrictions, that I set as follows?

  Web filtering - value: can see sites and websites suitable for children on the green list. Note that Google browser is disabled at the moment.

  -Time: off

  Restrictions of App - value: can use many applications with a few exceptions.

  This code is currently contained in my "mc_1" movieclip. I want to be able to have this code on my main timeline, but no matter what I try, I constantly errors, several different versions. I tried to add mc_1 infront of everything, but who gives just an error of output on a Sprite.

  Click on publish settings/files/flash and check "permit debugging".  Repeat the test.

  the number of the line of your first mistake will be at the top of the error message.  copy and paste this error message and indicate the line of problematic code.

• Parental control: disconnection time does not

  I recently created my kids computer with parental control, with the goal being to their ability to use the computer when I'm not around.  Overall, the controls seem to work fine (we have Windows 7 starter edition) except when their time has passed.  For example, I have a child allowed to 5-6 and the other 6 - 7.  6 the system is automatically hitting the first child, but it isn't really their disconnection.  So when the next kid goes to log on to the computer says that another user is currently connected.  Kid, you can't not reconnect to disconnected and kid 2 is unable to open a session.  The only way around it is to me as an administrator to log myself, which then automatically stops kid 1 on.  So I have to close the session back and then kid 2 can connect.

  This isn't a system that works if I'm not in the House, of course.  Is there a way to make it 1) give kid 1 a warning 5 min. so that it knows to disconnect and to complete what she done, instead of just turn off suddenly?  It could be disastrous, of course, if a document is under development and the computer just starts without warning.     (2) actually do disconnect kid 1 before returning to the login screen?
